Frank's Steak House Ratings and Reviews
What a great steak restaurant that has been in business for many years... always reliable. The Staff was exceptionally kind and the service was well timed. I adored my prime rib which had 3 weight categories. Also my Manhattan was one of the best I had ever had.. not very large but extremely balanced and cold! We don't go to that part of Cambridge often but when we do we always try to go to Franks.
My family, including our three young grandchildren, had a nice meal and an overall good time for my birthday. The food was great and our server was efficient and patient. Because it was a Tuesday, we also found parking right outside the restaurant which was a plus!
Love, love, love this place. The steaks are the best and the price is right. 5 of us had reservations for 6, no waiting, sat right down. Myself and another had the clam chowder, the best I’ve had in a long time. Another diner had the onion loaf appetizer, fantastic! We all had some kind of steak dinner, everyone very happy with their choices. Can’t wait to go back. Service was spot on.
We (myself, husband, kids, parents, and friends), have been coming here for many years now. Never disappointed by the food and comfortable atmosphere. Rocco is a gem. He always makes you feel welcomed. All the wait staff are friendly and work hard to make your visit a great experience. The food speaks for itself. Always delicious, great quality and nice selection. There’s something for everyone.
Sharon, waitress was very good. We drove 1.5 hours and although most of the meal was very good, it will not be memorable and we wouldn't go back. If you are in the area it would be a good stop for a nice steak. My rib eye was the only steak that came with seasoning, the london broil, NY strip and filet did not. Mixed drinks were a bit weak.
four of us went for the Early bird special and had a wonderful meal. The choices are very good and the amount served is perfect. I do not believe in "doggy bagging" but hate to waste food so the servings suit me. The fudge sauce on vanilla ice cream is to die for!
Celebrating my wife’s retirement with a quick get away trip to Boston. We found this restaurant to be just what we were looking for. Great food and ambience, moderate pricing on steaks that were cooked perfectly. Next time we come this way, we’ll be sure to come back to Frank’s Steakhouse.
Our waitress was not very good or talkative. We had a few problems with our orders, and they were not handled well by her. She was supposed to go look into what was in our drinks but never got back to us about the problem and just moved forward with other things. The food was good, and priced well. I would eat there again, but I will be in no hurry to go back.
I was looking for a place to host a group of 12 hungry rowers/coaches the night before their race at the Head of the Charles and I found the perfect place with Frank's Steak House. The food was plentiful and delicious (you must be a meat lover), the atmosphere was comfortable, and the cost was reasonable. Standouts on the menu were the Nacho's Platter smothered in Ed's Chili and Fried Onion Loaf for appetizers and Frank's NY Sirloin and Prime Rib entrees. Will remember this place for future events.
My family loves Frank's. Consistently good food and service at a great value. The reason for the low overall rating is that we had a 7PM reservation. They clearly overbooked on reservations. Instead of giving those with reservations priority they were honoring walk-ins. We waited over 40 minutes for a table and in the end, we took a four-top in the lounge because our 8-year-old was starving and it was getting late. This was more about poor staff decisions than about the restaurant as a whole. We will go back for sure but a reservation after 6:30 is gamble at Frank's.
Had a wonderful experience at Frank's. Food, service and atmosphere was great. Order the Sizzler, you will not be disappointed. It exceeded my expectations and was better than other steaks I have had at expensive steak house.
After looking on social media, my 2 siblings and I were extremely excited to try this place out. The appetizers were really good, we got the fried mozzarella and fried onions. Afterwards, we waited for about a half hour for our entrees. I got the Sizzler (featured on social media), my sister got the surf and turf and my brother got the filet mignon with tarragon butter. For a plate that gained so much recognition in the media, the Sizzler was a dud. I asked for medium rare and the whole steak was practically cooked when it came to the table. The chef also did season before cooking and and putting it on the hot plate. In addition, the mashed potatoes were salty and a portion of it was falling off my plate when it came. The rice pilaf was watery, no flavor and just heinous.
During the video feature they said that they charge a lower price for more value, but we did not receive any added value. The portion sizes were small and cost about $27+. For that price I could have gotten a juicy steak at another steak house with better service/product. I think this is place although had some good things like the appetizers, fails in the most important thing in a steak house; the steak. It is okay to wait for a little longer for a great meal, but not okay if the end product falls this short of the hype it generated online.
