Always a solid meal for a reasonable price - our go to steak house in the area!
Great service. Delicious steak.
2 positives: The food excellent and the waitress effiecient
2 negatives: The host was watching TV and it seems we interrupted his program to be seated.
They need to update their cocktails to better/current/handcrafted
ingredients...Lemon Drop was an archaic and mediocre mix of vodka and sour mix
How about some real lemon pulp and shaken actually to a skate?
Food was great...Steaks were cooked perfectly! Hog Wings was a delicious surprise...read the menu wrong and though we were getting "hot wings"!
This place is AMAZING. Get the sizzler, you wont regret it. Best steak in new england in my personal opinion. And for under 30 bucks its a steal.
Steak was overcooked, and extremely salty. Best thing we had were the wings. Very disappointed.
The food, beverages, service, and friendly staff are always great. It’s a neighborhood gem. There’s something to be said about the Manager, Rocco. He is always accommodating and friendly. We always have a nice time and great dinner at Franks Steakhouse.
The food was excellent and the service was great!!
We went to Frank’s to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our party of seven had appetizers, entrees and dessert. Everything was delicious including the garlic bread, brownie sundae, and steaks. Even though we didn’t mention my husband’s birthday to our waiter (wish I knew his name), he put a candle in my husband’s sundae. Frank’s is cozy and old school. Oh, and I should mention that the early bird specials are a great deal! They include soup or salad, entree, dessert and tea or coffee. The portions are generous too. We will definitely go back.
Franks has been around for years and never disappoints!
Dinner at Frank's is always great! We had the Tomahawk (again!) the when we had dinner there recently and it was cooked to perfection, delicious!
We love it here but on this day we got some bad scallops. The server immediately took care of it and the manager removed it from the bill without question. Unfortunately my wife didn’t eat anything else as it spoiled her stomach. Other meals were cooked to order fine.
I love Frank's. I am a carnivore and in today's world one often goes days without meat. This time, I developed an urgent craving for meat; I scooped up two friends and brought them over. We all had the 10 oz. prime rib, which was spectacular. I was surprised it was even on the menu, as it was Monday night. It is a terrific value, its accompanying sides are fine, and all in all, we had a great time.
Frank's is an outstanding local restaurant which serves good food at reasonable prices. It is a neigborhood restuarant which I would call North Cambridge's version of "Cheers" which makes everyone feel right at home. Sunday night is home style turkey dinner which takes you back to your memories of what it was like sitting around the family table.
Very decent neighborhood restaurant, food basic, but well-prepared, good service
i enjoyed the prime rib, which i often get there.
Excellent food and value in a friendly casual restaurant. The prime Robison especially good
Excellent food and service. Options for nonmeat eaters and gluten free. Early bird special a good value for those inclined. Classic.
We stumbled across this place while visiting Boston. Wanted a casual reasonable priced place for steaks. The place was packed with mostly local folks which is always a good sign.
The service is not stellar but not neglectful either. No frills there!
We enjoyed our steaks and side dishes very much and thought it was well worth the trip.
I would definitely return.
We have been coming to Frank's since 1995 when our first son entered Harvard. We continued to go there when our second son went there as well. We still come there today and always enjoy the character of the restaurant. The food is good and my husband loves the Keno!
We have noticed that the loaf of bread is now a roll and the salad is much smaller. Other than that, always leave there a happy camper especially when my husband wins on Keno!!
We have been to Franks a number of times over the years and have always found it to be consistently good. Great food, staff and service. Excellent value. Bernard and Donna
Everything was good. We had a good size group and everyone was happy with their meals. The service was prompt and friendly. Been going to Frank's for many years, always happy with the experience.
Franks is always a great go to spot! Great food for the price.
One of our steaks was not prepared very well, which the owner was kind enough to proactively remove it from the bill once he realized it had not been eaten. I know that it is not his fault, but the steak looked as if it had just been killed. Raw. The overall atmosphere is a bit too towny for me, but the service is fantastic. Overall, satisfied with what we got, would go back for beers.
Solid steakhouse restaurant. I had the petite filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly and topped with a delicious tarragon butter. My husband got the ribeye which was very good, just a little fatty. The sides were typical. I did like that they provided sour cream with the baked potato. The CA cabernet I had was excellent (Oberon). We will be back!
Frank's is one of our favorites. Often times we forget about it when thinking of where to go and try these new places or chain places and are always disappointed. We always end up saying "Should of went to Frank's" it is always consistent with the food. Prime Rib is hands down my favorite and the wife loves the scallops. They had a Turkey dinner special she loved the other night.
Loved it! The food was awesome!
Great prime rib and steaks. Surf & turf a little small, other than that great place.
Even with a reservation we had to wait like 30 mins... A lot of walk-ins we’re waiting up to two hours. They apologize but I would’ve rather just not have gone if I knew we would have to wait at least another 30 minutes from the time of our reservation
Disappointed...I'd rather pay a few more dollars at Capital Grille for a better steak dinner. Had A 6 PM reservation..we were place at our table At 6:30PM. Not a way to start an evening. We were a bit rushed since we had tickets to a show in Meddord. The steak was thin and tasteless....don't waste your money....
It was Saturday, so it was busy. The wait staff was busy, but took forever to get acknowledged at table. Once we finally did, it went fairly smooth. The good is consistently good.... love their steak.
I enjoyed my first visit to Frank’s Steak House. The staff was wonderful. I recommend you always make a reservation when coming to visit. The restaurant is pretty busy and the patron are so friendly. I will definitely revisit again.
Excellent food and an even better valve. My wife and I had an appetizer, bottle of wine 2 meals and a after diner cocktail for just over a Benjamin. I don't know any where you can go for that. I got the prime rib and highly recommend it. She got the steaks tips which was very good as well. The service was OK because we were her last table i'm assuming, since she walked out after us. Despite the service I would recommend anybody who enjoys steak and doesn't want to spend a fortune. Go to Frank's.
This restaurant is awesome it really exceeded my expectations o would definitely recommend this place to family and friends the stellar was so tender and juicy and the sides were great also I would most certainly come back for any occasion
Our second special occasion dinner and second great experience. Low prices and high quality. Much better than steakhouses in Boston itself. The parking area is tiny but we were able to find a spot there on New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day. Service is a little slow and not the best but overall a very good restaurant. Will definitely return.
Great Valentine’s Day Night! Tomahawk Steaks are amazing!
Was looking forward to dining at Franks and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it was a let down. The price and service was good, but food was nothing to write home about. NY strip steak was overdone. Prime rib was ok. I wish there were more sides to choose from; at least some type of greens (Brussel sprouts, green beans, etc).
Dessert was a apple crisp. It was as if granola was warmed up and then an apple was cut into slices and thrown in. The apples weren’t cooked.
All in all, Franks is just ok. Good price point for the portion size, but quality was below average.
We celebrated Valentine day ! Was a little surprised that they didn’t acknowledge it ! The food and service was good our waitress was super .Lisa is good . We will come back .
The steak as expected was very good, the scallops were not eatable, tough dry and chewy, The deserts were not home made (store bought) parking is tough but that was expected. All in all good but not even close to a wow factor.
My Mother and Father would have their Saturday date night at Frank’s when they first met in the 1970s. I have decided to revive this tradition with Hope. I can see why this was their go-to spot! Food was excellent and service was exceptional. Definitely make a reservation as the wait can flirt with 2 hours at peak dinner times.
