Frank's Steak House Ratings and Reviews
Frank's is one of our favorites. Often times we forget about it when thinking of where to go and try these new places or chain places and are always disappointed. We always end up saying "Should of went to Frank's" it is always consistent with the food. Prime Rib is hands down my favorite and the wife loves the scallops. They had a Turkey dinner special she loved the other night.
Excellent food and an even better valve. My wife and I had an appetizer, bottle of wine 2 meals and a after diner cocktail for just over a Benjamin. I don't know any where you can go for that. I got the prime rib and highly recommend it. She got the steaks tips which was very good as well. The service was OK because we were her last table i'm assuming, since she walked out after us. Despite the service I would recommend anybody who enjoys steak and doesn't want to spend a fortune. Go to Frank's.
Our second special occasion dinner and second great experience. Low prices and high quality. Much better than steakhouses in Boston itself. The parking area is tiny but we were able to find a spot there on New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day. Service is a little slow and not the best but overall a very good restaurant. Will definitely return.
Was looking forward to dining at Franks and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it was a let down. The price and service was good, but food was nothing to write home about. NY strip steak was overdone. Prime rib was ok. I wish there were more sides to choose from; at least some type of greens (Brussel sprouts, green beans, etc).
Dessert was a apple crisp. It was as if granola was warmed up and then an apple was cut into slices and thrown in. The apples weren’t cooked.
All in all, Franks is just ok. Good price point for the portion size, but quality was below average.
My Mother and Father would have their Saturday date night at Frank’s when they first met in the 1970s. I have decided to revive this tradition with Hope. I can see why this was their go-to spot! Food was excellent and service was exceptional. Definitely make a reservation as the wait can flirt with 2 hours at peak dinner times.
Frank’s is consistently good, this night was perhaps the best! We had Rib Eye steaks which were cooked perfectly medium with a shrimp scampi app that we had they fry. Our own version of surf and turf. Also, had the onion loaf app which was great! I do miss the little loafs of bread they used to give you.
Went to celebrate my 50th birthday - what a mistake. Service was shockingly slow and very RUDE! After waiting over a half hour the food was delivered COLD! Never saw the waitress until she brought the bill. I will say the steaks are very inexpensive, but not worth it when the meal is cold. You get what you pay for - go anywhere else!
My husband and I and our two sons have been going to Frank's for several years now and it is always a treat. Myself and one of my sons has celiac disease and they have many options that are gluten free or can be made gluten free and we have never had a problem dining there. I would highly recommend Frank's to anyone looking for a great steak at a great price!
I went to Frank's for the first time a few days ago and will definitely be going back.
As others have stated, it's just a good local old-school steakhouse. Good food, nice (if a bit dated) atmosphere, good service, and reasonable prices. The fact they take reservations is a big plus for me. Really the only negative is the difficulty of parking in the area.
I have been going to Frank's for over 20 years. It has always been a family favorite. We dined there last week for my birthday. It had been 4 years since I had been there. I first noticed that the restaurant was very quiet for a Friday night. Not the usual excitement at the bar. I found that most of the prices have increased and the dinner salad was smaller than I had remembered. I did want to order the sizzling steak platter, but did not think it was worth $30. I specifically asked my waiter to cook my steak rare. As I remember, they usually overcook their steaks. I like my steaks a perfect medium rare. After a bit of an attitude from him, he placed our order. The salads were great (nice dressings). When the steak came out... Medium. I sent it back. When our waiter presented the check, he took my entree off the bill , but reminded me to order my steak the next time Extra Rare. A rude comment. I do not like extra rare steak, but obviously if you want a steak medium rare at Frank's you need to order extra rare. I will not go back. I have had many nice memories at that restaurant, but it just doesn't have the same vibe, service and value that it use to. Look elsewhere.
I never leave this kind of review. I have only left a review like this one other time. We have eaten at Frank's a few times over the years. Always a good dinner and friendly service. So I give them a 10 in my book and we eat out at least 3 times a week at various Restaurants. Thank you
We went New Year's Eve and joyed delicious steaks. My partner had the famous sizzler and I ordered a flavorful classic rib eye. Both steaks came out hot. However, the sides where served cool and had to be reheated. And there weren't any options for "green" vegetables that night. If you want a great steak then this is the place. Steakhouse atmosphere with classic furnishings. It was a holiday treat.
