Frank's Oyster House & Champagne Parlor
Servers were nice and did well. Food was good, but not great - it just didnt quite seem to deliver on the description.
The food is normally amazing. I felt like it was just ok this visit. Portions weren’t had flavorful. The ambiance is perfect though and our server was very good.
Went to Frank's for brunch. The menu had a great selection, service was excellent, and the food was tasty. The best part was, unlike some other popular brunch places, you aren't crammed into a loud noisy room. Excellent ambiance!!
Truly another wonderful meal/drinks here.
Waited a really long time for our food and dinners were ok.
Delicious cocktails and oysters on the half shell served on a clever ice cube display tray. Other mains were great. Cool vibe and not too loud!
Very fun neighborhood place that has good food and wine and service.
I really really wanted to like this place. We had 5 people and tried many dishes. Only the oysters ranked as good quality. Their so called famous fried chicken was dry and predominantly batter and the ravioli was very undercooked and doughy. The lobster rolls tasted like thick pieces of bread wrapping flavorless lobster meat. My mother in law to this day keeps apologizing for taking us there. I don’t write reviews and definitely try to look for the good in things, but we spent a fortune and it was just a total let down.
Love love the small plate selections, consistently good. For an oyster house there aren't very many oyster offerings (usually three), but what they do offer on that front is high quality. Great spot.
I don't fault them for trying but, the food at Frank's is not good. The menu is a bit scattered too. I mean if you can't execute on small plate offerings then don't offer them. I'm quite certain you need a small army of well trained staff, spacious kitchen, to do small plates well and Frank's seems to have neither. Focus on core competancy and refrain from trying to reivent the wheel. My dad ordered a Crab Louie Salad and what he got was lettuce tacos!
Went for restaurant week. Nice evening, great service and good was really good. Especially the ravioli and chicken and waffles!
I was thrilled to find this place. I wanted a romantic date night with my husband. I loved that it was locals(not full of tourist) and not too busy/noisy.
The food was very good..prices were good and our server was great. Next time I think Id like to sit in the bar- it looked really cozy.
Get the fried chicken dinner. The biscuits and mashed potatoes are the perfect complement to the amazing crispy boneless chicken. YUM
Charming staff, amazing food. Great spot for our low-key anniversary dinner. We will be back!
Delicious brunch with friends. Reasonable prices and reasonable portions.
Love this place. Great service every time.
Best eggs Benedict! Great place to catch up with friends. Breakfast menu has something for everyone. Can’t wait to go back.
Terrific unique setting with delicious food. Almost a speakeasy vibe. The cocktail menu was superb.
Great experience all around, from being greeted at the door to cocktails and oysters to our main courses. I recommend the buttermilk fried chicken as one of the best comfort food meals I've had in a long time. It was recommended to me by our very pleasant and witty server, so I suppose he gets all the credit for my recommendation to you. I was part of a group of four and everyone loved everything that was brought to the table. Casual, tasteful atmosphere. The bar looked like a cozy spot too. We'll be back!
Note: One person in our group was restricted by food allergies and the server and kitchen were very understanding and accommodating!
the amount of food was not worth the price and the service was horrible.
We went for fish. Clearly oysters are the reason to go. Summer evening. We sat outside. Inside was A.C. frigid. It's clean...first thing you smell walking in is bleach. Our dishes were over-sauced and under-portioned. Service was very good and accommodating. Service A-; Food B.
Nice place. I'd say the quality of the cooking didn't quite keep up with the menu which reads beautifully.
Great dinner and cocktails. The seafood was fresh and well prepared. We will return.
Quiet enough that conversation is easily heard. Good basic food like fried chicken and waffles or cheeseburgers with flare. Attentive service. Great cocktails—try the Thai tai!
I would have liked a broader seafood menu, to include some more local fare...not just oysters and clams (though the oysters were tasty!). Wanted some Dungeness and salmon but none to be had. The clam dish I had was delicious! Wife’s main meal halibut was small, but again flavorful.
Frank's is a quirky, fun place with ahhh-mazing food. The happy hour oyster sliders hit warp factor five on my yum scale, but everything we had for dinner after that was very, very good as well. All of the waiters were graciously helpful. They managed to show up when a need arose, but never before. They do a great job. This is not some high-faluting pretentious joint - au contraire, it has a lovely shabby-but-homey feel about it, and I highly recommend that you treat yourself with a visit to Frank's. Be sure to arrive early enough to order those happy hour sliders. (They're delish with the house bubbly.) Bon apetit!
After a few years of hearing my relatives rave about Frank’s, I finally had a chance to try it on a recent Seattle trip – and I was not disappointed. The restaurant was busy but not loud, allowing my group to have a nice conversation during our meal without having to talk over other diners. We began by ordering cocktails and a few appetizers, which we enjoyed. Each of us ordered a different entrée, which allowed us to sample one another’s choices.
The restaurant was clean and well-lit. The wait staff was pleasant and able to offer suggestions while not being intrusive. All in all, it was a nice experience and I look forward to a return visit.
It is a nice restaurant but not worth your money; the portions are small, which is fine but too expensive.
Started off with a glass of their pinot noir, a bit spendy but it was very good. We also had half a dozen oysters on the half shell, I love the way they present them on a solid ice block-very cute. I had the chicken, which is something I never order but it is a specialty here. It was quite good, crispy, no bones, plated on gravy with potatoes. The gravy was a little salty for my taste, but had a nice deep flavor. My daughter had the halibut and she said she really liked it, but the piece of fish was very small for the price. I would come here again. Our waiter seemed to be in training-the host would come up and stand behind him whenever he approaches would have been a nice little heads up to let us know what was going on-as someone that has worked the restaurant industry, I got it, but it should have been pointed out, at first I thought she was waiting to tell us something. Overall a good experience, the restaurant was clean, not too noisy, and we were able to get a table just getting into town, right away, on Open Table.
Wish the server would have introduced himself! He was quiet fun putting up with our nonsense!
Such a wonderful neighborhood spot. Cute atmosphere, really good food.
The food is always terrific although we asked for our burger to be well done and it arrived quite pink! Other than that, the halibut and risotto were fantastic!
Frank's was outstanding as usual!
Delicious food and impeccable service! I really enjoyed the banana split!
We went to Frank’s Oyster house for father’s day. The food was great and the ambience relaxing. My toddler loved their burger (we had to send it back once because it came undercooked, but after that it was perfectly moist and delicious).
Will be back for more!
Very nice spot! Enjoyed the oysters and atmosphere
Been here several times for weekend brunch. The best French toast in Seattle.
This is a very pleasant place, but I'm not sure I would recommend it to friends my age (70+) because of the noise level -- very hard to have a conversation! We had small plates (baked oysters and lobster roll) and the operative word is "small" -- as in very small. Wouldn't order the lobster roll again -- much more bread than lobster. All was redeemed by chocolate whiskey cake -- decadently delicious. Special thanks to our waiter, who recommended that we order just one slice because it is large and rich. Excellent advice.
We were celebrating my nieces graduation from UW. We let them know ahead of time we needed quick service and they complied. The oysters were delicious as was all the food and drinks. The fried oyster sliders were a huge hit! We will be back when we have time to linger. What a great neighborhood place. Wish we lived closer.
