Sad to see Frankie’s close for good today! It has been our family’s go to restaurant for many happy years.
Not sure what is planned for Bloomies, but Frankie’s will be missed by many.
Good luck to Frankie
We stayed at Whitehall hotel and this was close. We sat outside the restaurant in the "mall" area.
So sad Frankie's is closing! I hope Lettuce reopens Frankie's in another location.
Frankie’s never disappoints! My sister was here with friends from Ontario and staying at the Hilton. I knew just where I wanted to take them for the perfect dinner. Yup. All six of us had fabulous meals! I highly recommend Frankie’s.
Extremely busy with private parties this night. Busier than I have ever seen them. This is good tho. Otherwise good experience.
They are closing on November 4th. It will be a great loss to the neighborhood.
Great fun restaurant — please don’t close this wonderful gathering space.
This gem is one of our favorite places. The food is wonderful and staff is friendly.
I’ve been to Frankie’s many times but the food is extremely disappointing this time
The worst pizza in town, no tomato sauce no cheese. No ambiance located in an empty mall by night.
Frankie’s was surprisingly good. We had doubts when we saw its location is in a mall (900 N Michigan). Everything about it turned out to be above our expectations. The food including the delicious bread, the salad and entrees was amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and cheerful.
For the second time at the Chicago Marathon, we came here for carb-loading. The food was absolutely fabulous - the sauce incredible. Our runners left pleasantly filled and the atmosphere was upbeat and a joyous pre-race ritual. We felt that the meals were moderately priced for the Boul Mich area, and we were thrilled with that. The wines were a little pricey, but we noticed that if we come back on a different day, wine specials were available. Frankie's is a little hidden gem!
I was in town for the Chicago Marathon and had made reservations here not knowing how good it was. Our food was excellent! I later learned this restaurant will close in a few weeks. I’m so sad! I would they would reconsider closing this site.
Very disappointing/upsetting that they're closing :'-(
Good value & ambience
Frankie's has great food with an ideal location. I go often and bring friends who return. Never a complaint!!
The restaurant was reserved for something so we had to sit in the patio which is in the middle of a mall...not the ambiance I was looking for. Good pizza though.
Great Rosh Hashanah meal, well prepared tremendous selection of entrees, with right combination of traditional delicacies and modern conveniences. All served timely while not being rushed. We go every holiday and will be back often
Had a wonderful meal at Frankie's, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was wonderful! Would definitely go again next time in Chicago!
Not sure what's changed, but was disappointed this visit. Heard the same from a freind a few weeks ago. Service was really lacking. Pizza is now cut into squares??? Italians don't cut pizza into squares, pie shape is the perfect proportion of crust to yummy topping. Took three requests to get one guest's drink and get it right. The trout special was prepared perfectly and was delicious! Come on, Frankie's has always been a great meal and destination, get back to what you were! I won't give up!
Still good, but not what it used to be. The service is good, but not great. Baked spaghetti is still very good. But the back rooms decor creates a feeling of being in a low-grade restaurant. The place was better before it changed to Frankie's Scallopini.
We had our usual order of baked spaghetti with marinara sauce (a specialty of the house) with veal meatballs and a cup of tomato bisque as appetizers. These are consistently excellent. (There are other good things on the menu, but these are our favorites.) Service was very fast, partly because it was not yet the busiest time.
Consistently good neighborhood restaurant! When in doubt, this is where we go!
This was my first time at this restaurant. It's on the 5th floor of the 900 n Michigan building. A pretty quiet building. There is construction in the building so I assume that's why there wasn't much foot traffic. Our server was excellent. She was there every time we needed her.
We ordered two of the daily specials. One was noodles with fresh corn and shrimp. The 2nd was salmon with spinach. We split both entrees and cleaned our plates. Very yummy!
I usually don't get dessert but we could not resist the warm cookie with vanilla gelato. Also delicious.
I'll definitely return.
A friend and I met again after 20 yrs, and I was enormously pleased with my choice of restaurant. The Wait Staff could not have been more efficient in service while graciously allowing our conversation to flow without interruption, we had so much to catch up on. Our selection was a healthy choice of fresh and tasty also. When I come to Chicago again, I will definitely visit your fine restaurant. 5stars!
We had a family get-together there. The toasted ravioli was delicious!
Restaurant is part of Lettuce Entertain You chain so it is no surprise that the food and service are excellent. What is surprising is that this high quality restaurant is situated in a mall. Chopped salad and chicken parmigiana are top notch and food portions are generous on all menu items.
Nice, quiet atmosphere with terrific pasta and the $10 wine bottle on Mon and Tue is a great deal
Frankie's was an unexpected treat. Having never been there before, I didn't know what to expect. Good food, great service and reasonable prices. I would go to Frankie's again.
Our first visit, not our last, was a pleasant surprise. The wait staff was exceptional, dinner prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. We we're thrilled to find wines that we had during our cooking class during our last trip to Italy.
Baked spaghetti was excellent. Never had it done that way before.
Great service and food. Will be back
I am not getting credit on open table for my visits to restaurants. Why not?

The service was excellent all around. It was like the waiter was reading our minds as to what we needed.
The food was so good! Yum! We shared meatball appetizer and large salad with chicken and pasta. Their baked spaghetti is unique and was delicious along with pork and risotto special, maghuerita pizza and seafood pasta dish. Unfortunately the building's scaffolding for ongoing work prevented any view we may have had of Michigan Avenue. Since that is temporary, we definitely will return soon. Also they validate parking in the garage which is convenient.
All was great. our waitress was great. We asked her to give us some time just to enjoy a drink and each other before ordering, and she was very patient and let us be until we were ready to order. It helped make for a nice evening.
This is a gem with one of get best chicken parms around. We've been going here for several years, tried just about everything on the menu and always leave full and happy. Managers and wait staff are welcoming and ready to make you feel right at home. Next time we'll try lunch and taste a slice of pizza which looks too good to pass up.
Frankie's makes a great Italian salad--and we treat ourselves to a pizza to top it off. Great pizza--traditional thin crust. Always good food, nice service and atmosphere. This is a great neighborhood restaurant.
The chocolate chip cookie à la mode was delicious
Excellent chicken limon. My wife and I both would order it again.
