Frankie's Italian Kitchen & Bar
Superb food quality, perfectly prepared, and excellent service.
We were seated right on time and our server was very friendly and helpful - she understood we had a timeline (we were watching a soccer game at the stadium across the street following dinner) and made sure we had our food with plenty of time.
The food as always was excellent and the service superb!
Wasn’t very impressed this time around, after two great experiences several years ago. Service was sporadic, despite a few tables being seated. When occasional person did come by, they were unhelpful (‘you’ll have to ask your server’).... Two of three appies were fine. But main course protein was a fail (old meat??). Pasta was cooked perfectly. Cocktails were meh. Won’t be trying it again, would rather venture into other options in the area...
You are sharing food with flies with breakfast buffet option.
Better go to Denny's or Ihop.
Food was outstanding. I had the lasagna I was dreaming of. My husband had the Shrimp Scampi w/ Lobster cream sauce which was the best I've ever tasted. Wine selection was very nice. We noticed it was especially easy to carry on a conversation even though the restaurant was fairly full.
We dined at Frankies the first evening of our stay in Vancouver. Our hotel was the neighboring Georgian Court Hotel. Not even counting the convenience of the location, the food was first rate. We loved the lamb shanks and the lasagna. There are not a lot of moderately priced restaurants in this area of the city (within walking distance) so the next night we ended up returning to Frankies and having a second enjoyable experience. Lamb shanks again and pesto gnocchi. I give Frankies high marks for value.
Generally eat here before football games. Almost didn’t this season because last year the service was so poor every time we were there. Could not get over the change this time, excellent greeting, server came over as soon as we were seated and offered beverages more than once during our visit. We will be reserving for the next game. Huge difference from last year.
The food is authentic Italian and delicious with every bite. The best food hands down my family and I had in Vancouver. The only downside is we weren't able to get into the other side of the restaurant for the live jazz.
We had a lovely dinner before the Andrea Boccelli concert and it was the perfect place! The lasagna was excellent!! I recommend it!!
From out of town to attend Andrea Bocelli Concert and wanted a restaurant close to Rogers Arena..nice menu, reasonably priced and good service. Would go back
Date night in Canada before a concert
service charge on the weekend and then yr supposed to tip. food was good. been better lastime we were there.
Enjoy some appies and a beverage before the football game. Very Nice
Our party ordered 3 tenderloins . 1 was cooked as requested. The other 2 were completely over cooked. The server never came back to ask how our meals were. We should have sent them back but we had a event we needed to attend and didn't want to risk being late. Service todsy wasn't very good. Perhaps they were having a bad day, I have been there once before and the food and service was excellent.
A plus in every way.
Ore concert dinner with friends.
Great service& fabulous food.
The service was excellent. The food was very good and the portions were a good size.
The food was amazing and our server Tim absolutely made our night . Everything was fantastic from start to finish !
Our first visit to Frankie's and we'll be back. The food was incredible and the service was great!!
Dinner before an event
Frankie's Vancouver always impresses us, the service is always top notch, food is always hot and the ambience is just right! It is our first choice every time we are in the city.
The food was amazing (don't skip desert, it's made in house and to die for), service was awesome (our server was efficient, happy, and really bubbly without being annoying), atmosphere and noise was relaxed and perfect for a social dinner out. 100% coming back soon! I think we found a great restaurant for special occassions.
Came in from out of town and had supper there on Mother’s Day. Wish I could remember our servers name so HE can get the recognition that he deserves. His service was Top Notch. He was very attentive and personable. The food was delicious and extremely reasonable for the serving sizes.
We will be back the next time we are in Vancouver
Great place to go for some delicious food and fast service before an event at Rogers Arena or anywhere else in the vicinity. Our server knew that we were on a limited time schedule and timed everything perfectly, including splitting the bill. Just right!
Wonderful Italian food . . . SO appreciated by people who have moved from Toronto! Breakfast was great too, and great service.
Solid Italian fare. Really good flavours and good sized portions. Service was spot on.
Terrible host, you’ll find it more welcoming at Starbucks, antipasto was sad with two pieces of cheese and cheap cold cuts (avoid), Moscow mule cocktail served in a tall glass (not sure if copper cup was unavailable or bartender had no clue), tasted like 7up, spaghetti and chicken linguini were average dishes.
Steak was delicious!!
I had been before but my husband hadn't. He's a hard sell because he eats out so often. The food, service and ambiance was exactly what I hoped for. The mussels for appy were delicious. By the time we got to the main course we could barely get through it...which for us is a usually a breeze. The lasagna was as good as promised and my seafood pasta was outstanding. The fellow serving us was terrific.
Overall a lovely evening. Can hardly wait to go back and try a few more offerings.
As you walk in, you see a well organized layout of tables and seating. Some tables appear a bit closer than I would like but I can imagine there are a lot of people who want to eat here.
I met an old friend there for an early dinner. The server was prompt to greet us to ask about beverages and menus. We hadn't even looked as we were so engaged in our conversation. The server was very perceptive to our needs and was very astute in waiting for our conversation breaks (which were few and far between) to take our order.
The menu offers clever combinations and presentations of traditional Italian foods. It was easy to find a meal to suit my needs at the time. The food came in a timely manner and presentation was appealing to the eye. It was all delicious. I loved my well balanced Steak and Beet salad and was fulsome enough and gratifying.
As we were leaving we were met by a Maitre'd (?) who inquired about our experience. It was a good humoured and light hearted exchange that showed their care and attention to their customers.
I will definitely return to Frankies Italian for more good food and Great people who work there.
On the night of a concert they were definitely prepared with adequate staff. Knowing it would be busy we made a reservation. They had us seated, served our food and we were out the door in less than an hour. All 4 of us were pleased with our meals :)
Staff accommodated our request to move to a booth.
Food was excellent. Would recommend this to others
Arrived early, sat at the bar. Bartender Tony was great. Super friendly. Dinner was great and prices were good. We will go back.
We made a reservation 2 weeks before and we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation as our table was not ready. Even after telling the server that we had all kinds of time, we felt a bit rushed by the server and the restaurant was not busy when we finally got seated.
Whenever we're in town for an event Frankie's is always dinner
Great pasta and appies, great service! Authentic Italian food
I’d recommend it
Wonderful food and service. We were a large-ish group but everything came out in a timely manner. I would gladly go back again.
I have been there many times and recommended it to business colleagues for a business dinner. I told the waiter they we were not in a hurry as we were not going to a game that night. He seemed to be in a rush. We ordered an appetizer and wanted to order our entree’s later. He kept asking us to order and when we d=I’d the food arrived as if it was already prepared and waited to be plated. MY carbonara was overalls sauced with only a few pieces on Pancetta. My guests plates looked as if they had been thrown together. I will try again but they need to do better. If I wanted rushed service and sloppy food I will go to Anton’s on Hastings.
