Frankie's Italian Kitchen & Bar
Birthday and lions game
I had chicken Marcella. It was delicious. I never had chicken Marcella like that. Lots of mushrooms , not dry. The vegetables very fresh. The minestrone soup was delicious. The service was very efficient. He was s good waiter. We are on vacation and enjoyed everything
The service was fantastic. 4 people had pasta which was good but just warm and lacked sauce Two of us had the lamp shank, it required seasoning and was cold. The Risotto was dry, cold and also lacked flavor. It's a shame as the food use to be like the service 5 out of 5.
Great food and very attentive service. The fish special was fabulous. Noise level a bit high would be my only criticism...
I enjoyed the special linguine with prawns, scallops and zucchini, I thought the lasagne was ordinary. We were outside on the deck and I finally had to ask the concierge of the hotel next door to get the busses that were idling their Diesel engines to turn them off. When they did, everyone on the deck clapped for me and we were all satisfied that the fumes and loudness were no longer ruining the atmosphere outside.
I have enjoyed Frankie's in Chilliwack (2 places) for lots of special occasions and continue to enjoy Frankies, also in Vancouver. This was a birthday celebration evening so excellent company, excellent food and excellent venue topped off with a happy birthday dessert. A most enjoyable evening.
My experience at Frankie's was great. Our server was very friendly, and very welcoming. To start we had their house made focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and polenta fries. Their focaccia was great, and you're welcome to ask for more. The polenta fries were done very well, crispy exterior yet fluffy inside. For my friend's main she had the risotto, and I had the rigatoni. The risotto was very good. My rigatoni was very chewy, but the restaurant corrected it and brought me another and it was much better. Our dinner was even better with dessert given to us on-the-house for my birthday.
Every dish was delicious and service was great. We had the scampi pasta and the pesto gnocchi. Those were amazing !
Very good Italian food for a low price.
Staff was friendly.
Excellent place to go before an event at BC Place!
After our first visit we ended up going there in total 3 times during our stay in Vancouver for lunch and dinner, and we found it reliable and a great place to eat. Menu was such that on each occasion we were able to try a different dish and all were well prepared and tasty.
Great food, portion sizes were more than adequate, service from the host was very welcoming and comfortable and our waitress Francia was excellent and made sure we enjoyed our experience all the way.
We visited Vancouver (beautiful city!) for the first time in August 2019. Frankie's was recommended by our hotel. The food was good (I had lasagna, my wife had seafood tagliatelle), although the pasta was a little chewy. We had a lovely server and the prices were good. I would recommend Frankie's for anyone looking for good Italian food, reasonably priced.
Always go there when we attend concerts or games. Consistently great food amazingly fast service and reasonable prices
Server was amazing
The food was delicious, we had the Pea Risotto and a Caesar Salad.
At once we were greeted with a staff that was not only courteous, but also personable. We ordered a pizza and were given bread while waiting for our huge Italian meal, all of it was delicious. After eating we went to the bar to listen to the live music and got to talking to a very funny Irish Bartender. Would definitely come again.
After the game
We had a great pre-concert dinner. The food was quick to arrive and the server was pleasant. One complaint for one in our group that her white wine wasn’t cold but we managed to make a mini ice bucket for her out of a glass for her carafe. It’s a great location for events at BC Place or Rogers. Our food was all really good and they were able to accommodate our vegan friend with a delicious veg risotto.
As always the service was wonderful - staff very friendly and helpful. There were 8 of us for dinner and everyone enjoyed their meals very much. Appetizers, fresh bread, pasta, risotto and fish were all excellent meals - fresh and full of flavor. We visit as a group annually but also love to bring family and friends when they visit Vancouver. Would recommend Frankie's Italian Kitchen & Bar to anyone as they have a full menu … even for those who do not enjoy Italian cuisine!! :)
Our last evening in Vancouver and we wanted some good southern Italian food...found Frankie’s Italian Kitchen & Bar...what a wonderful meal!!! Highly recommend!!!
Go to Frankie's quite a lot - always very good and the staff are lovely!
Great location. Great space. Personlized service. Go on a Wednesday. All bottled wine is 50% off!
The waitress was very slow and it was not busy . The food was very bland and not worth the prices
Had the spaghetti and meatballs, which is one of their signature dishes, the spaghetti was perfect, had the firmness I wanted and the sauce was not excessive. The meatballs was not as warm as the pasta but I decided it would do instead of sending them back.
Noise level was a bit louder than I wanted, but it was a Friday eve and the restaurant is across from B.C. Place and Robson St.
Didn’t see anyone try the lasagna which is another signature dish but if I’m in the area again I may possibly order it myself.
Leckeres Essen, aufmerksamer Service. Auch mit Kindern gut machbar.
Great pizza, service, etc, ……………………………………………………………………………….
We went to Frankies for dinner prior to a recent BC Lions game............. This visit turned out to be the best part of the night. Food was good, so was the service. We will be back again!
Absolutely would recommend Frankie’s. The price point and food was great. Waiter was very efficient and we loved the location.
It was amazing! Great food and service! Low light and private. Would definitely recommend.
Service staff seemed to be a distracted with setting up the adjoining room and so for seemingly long periods of time we had no staff or only one person in the dining room. Not sure what was going on there.
I had a coffee, but had to ask for sugar to be put on the table. I had a brunch item with toast but had to ask for some jam to be put on the table. Those are minor service faults but it wouldn't hurt to polish up those smaller details of service, eh?
I ordered an Italian omelet and found the first bite to be full of mushrooms and thought - nice enough. But I was looking forward to getting a tasting of the sausage and the other ingredients. About three bites in I realized that I had a mushroom omelet and not what I had ordered. It tasted just fine although I was tiring of the never ending mushrooms and at this point in time it was just not worth noting the error and then waiting for my entree to be corrected.
So, the experience was OK and maybe even good. I came to get something to eat and I left full. That was my need, so all is good. But if I came to savour my food and be supported with skilled tabled side service, I would have been disappointed.
I took my wife and my mom for dinner before the Paul McCartney concert. Though it was extremely busy due to the concert, the service was very attentive and treated us well. The food and appies were great. Highly recommended for any pre-event dining at BC Place.
Service was slow and it is a very noisy venue. Could not chat and be heard. Had to shout.
Excellent service, well-paced presentation of food and drinks - fabulous Manhattans!! - our waiter was outstanding and our meal delicious. We'll be back!
Very friendly staff made a good meal even better. Highly recommend visiting this establishment. Try the arancini and the caprese buratta. Looking forward to my next visit to Vancouver so I can go again.
We were a little early and were graciously seated at a window table. I was meeting with people who I had not seen for many years and our server was great, giving us lots of space to talk but still looking after us very well. I had the halibut special, it was delicious, my guests each had a pasta dish and they really enjoyed their choices. Good wine, good food, good service, doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you !
We dined at Frankie's for the very first time. We came over from Victoria to see the ELO concert. Both my husband and myself thought it was the best pasta dinner we have ever had - just wonderful!! And the Wednesday half off reserve wine was a bonus! We'll be back!
I love Frankie's! It's my go to for events at BC Place or Rogers Arena. The menu has something for everyone and is reasonable. I've not been disappointed yet. They have always been consistent. I reserve thru opentable.ca the easiest way to make sure you get a table on busy nights.
We went see Oprah
We were pleasantly surprised that they held our reservation when we were 20 min late due to traffic & parking. It was the night of the Oprah Winfrey Show so very busy. A little over the top wine prices but other than that we were very impressed overall.
