Celebrating 69 years of marriage. Good food, service, ambiance. Surprised that even the fact that I listed our celebration on our reservation it was not acknowledged. Also surprised and disappointed that there was a non-cash adjustment to our bill
Amazing! The food is ridiculously good! The owners and staff amazing and we felt part of the “family” the minute we walked in the door. The menu is so extensive you could eat there every night (which I may try!) an absolute gem of a place!
We shared a Mediterranean salad to start that was lovely— seared tuna, lump crab, and steamed shrimp perfectly cooked and warm. Pastas were both very tasty. As always, the bread with dinner is crusty on the outside and soft inside— yummy.
Always a delicious meal! One of our staples on our restaurant list!
The best service - Lisa was so helpful and the kitchen will accommodate any special requests. The food is very good and the portions are huge. Great homemade cannolis. Highly recommend!
I have always had a great dining experience, but on this night the did not hit the mark. I ordered the stuffed chicken and I have to say it’s was dry. My wife had the gnocchi with braciole that seemed to be a little overpriced. Also, we ordered a side dish of the famous meatballs that are always huge and delicious... came out smallish and run of the mill tasting.
Don’t get me wrong, they are on of my favorite places to eat but I was a bit disappointed on this visit.
A busy Friday night found this place packed. We had made reservations and were seated right away. We found the food to be above par. Anything with there red sauce would be recommended. Pasta was al dente and my veal was extremely tender. However service was not the best. My wife had ordered the shrimp scampi and this wasn’t what came out of the kitchen. Not sure where the fault lies (kitchen vs. server), but the correct dish came out quickly.
We will definitely be back for future visits. A simple mistake won’t deter us since the food was so good.
Great menu and very friendly staff. Excellent Italian food.
Food the way I grew up.
Great small restaurant that provides great food at good prices
The food is excellent. Waitstaff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We find the tables a little too close together, but that might be the reason for such top quality at such a reasonable price.
WE HAVE BEEN EATING AT FRANKIE`S FROM THE BEGINNING! WE LOVE IT AND HAVE BROUGHT OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY THERE OFTEN. IT`S THE REAL DEAL!
Frankie's Fellini Cafe is my favorite restaurant. It's like going home for a great dinner.
The cuisine is taken up to an artiste level
Fabulous entrees, superb service and enticing deserts
The food at Frankie’s is always excellent!! I do wish sometimes they had a bigger space since it is pretty cozy in there. Guess it’s part of the charm...
Ate here Villanova graduation weekend and as on previous occasions, fabulous food and love the atmosphere.
Went for the 1st time for Mother’s Day . The food , service , & experience wonderful! We will most definitely be back !!
Always a great meal! Great service and a fun atmosphere!
A great dinner to celebrate mother's day with my mom, wife and brother. I am a repeat customer but my mother and brother were there for the first time. As we get older our parents eat less and less, could not tell this time as my mom totally enjoyed the pasta with meatball, sausage and braciola. When desert came she did not want to share her gelato with any of us! Thank you!
Never disappointed at Frank’s!!
Always excellent food and service!
Frankie’s is our favorite spot for food that feels like my Nonnas. We brought a friend with us and he also enjoyed it immensely. Our toddler even loves it there. It’s a great place for family dining and to meet some friendly folks.
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is always excellent and the owners are warm and welcoming.
Although the food is delicious, there are several things about Fellini's that will keep me from going back. The restaurant is small, and they squeeze people into small tables that are very close together. The resulting atmosphere is noisy and hectic, making it impossible to relax and enjoy dinner. Also, effective communication with the patrons is almost non-existent. When the pasta I ordered turned out to be unavailable, they substituted a different pasta without asking what I wanted. They recommended a special "ice cream sandwich" dessert, failing to mention that the cost of that dessert is $16. They insist on packing up the leftovers themselves, but don't follow instructions. I was surprised to be charged an additional 4% of the total bill just for using my credit card. They have a small placard on one wall mentioning the surcharge, and seem to feel that the one placard is sufficient communication of their policy. They could have mentioned the surcharge when I handed them the credit card. Better yet, it could be mentioned on their website so people know to bring cash. It seems the goal of the restaurant is to feed as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, while making as much money as possible, with inadequate regard for considerate service.
Great tasting. Large portions. Good service. Very tight seating.
Had a great dinner with another couple on a Saturday night. Leah our waitress was outstanding, next time I am going to let her order for me. It is a bit tight and loud inside but the food makes up for it. It has become one of my favorites!
It took one hour from the time we were seated until the food arrived. Pasta was OK but the veal Milanese was burned. There was a $6.75 extra charge for using a credit card which was never disclosed to us. They refused to accept my personal check and eliminate the $6.75 charge. Place is small, crowded and very noisy. The bathroom is dirty and needs a fresh coat of paint. DONT GO
Can't beat the food. The veal marsala - so good! The salad was fresh with a wonderful light dressing.
We loved Frankie’s. We spent New Year’s Eve there.
It was like a family party. Food was amazing as was the service. We’ll be back.
South Phila and Phila has some of the best Italian restaurants on the planet. I know I have eaten Italian all over the US and abroad including Italy. Frankie’s ranks up with the best. Certainly among the Best in the Philly area. A little piece of genuine South Philly exceptional Italian food located in Berwyn,Pa just up the road from Villanova University. When I am in the mood for Italian my first go to is this BYOB GENUINE South Philly restaurant. When one considers value and quality this should be at the top of your list.
We've noticed over the last year that Fellini's has cut down on their portion sizes. Their generous portions/cost of meals was one of the biggest compliments (next to, of course, the taste of the food) within the community. The latest talk, however, is that the size portions have significantly decreased. :(
Frankie’s never disappoints. This was our first time ever eating out on Christmas Eve and we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was festive and joyous, the food delicious.
This may be our new family tradition.
When I went to reserve a table for 6, many different time slots were available. I made a 7:30 reservation and we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Unfortunately there is no comfortable place to wait so we were standing right inside the doorway.
The food was mediocre at best. The calamari was chewy. The sauce for the veal detracted from the dish. The best dish was the ravioli with butter sauce and parmigiana cheese. And there was a long wait between the appetizers and entrees.
Service was spotty. Second time there. Food was decent. Food was very late. Said they would give us a free desert because of the lateness and charged us for the desert anyway. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great as it was the first time. Kind of pushing us out the door because many people were waiting. Felt the tension of that.
This is a definite go to spot for locals - great food great service and a hands on owner that makes sure that every dish that does out meets his high standards. A BYOB with awesome Italian food. The veal parma w pasta is my favorite. My wife loves their ravioli. The servers are the nicest folks and very attentive. It is a small place so reservations are recommended but not required. True Italian food prepares with love - can’t go wrong!!
Food is very good but pricey compared to what it was in past. Place is small and needs to be updated. Bathroom needs to be remodeled. WAWA bathrooms are much better
Frankie’s is never a miss in my book. Beautiful, delicious homemade Italian food in a lively atmosphere. If you’re looking for a quiet romantic dinner best to come during the week or an early dinner. Personally I love the energy and the food can’t be beat!!
Excellent food, fun atmosphere. Our part enjoyed the singer!
I always have a great time at Frankie’s. Everything is delicious and the people are great.
Chicken and veal dishes were phenomenal. I also recommend the roasted peppers appetizer which goes great with their crusty bread and the grated Parmesan which resides on your table- don’t have to ask for it.
