Frankies 570 Spuntino Ratings and Reviews
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Lovely, cozy old world, yet very now, decor and ambiance. Great neighborhood restaurant worth traveling to. Attentive service and an all-around terrific Italian restaurant. We went for a birthday and had the greatest time. A special little gem.
Everyone took care of us: from the hostesses to the bartenders to the manager Steven to the servers. They let us know our table would be a little delayed, but kept us informed and absolutely took care of us. The food was outstanding: the chestnut parpadelle, the gnocchi, and the chicken special roasted with a brick were all standouts. The cocktails and wine list were excellent as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone local or visiting New York.
The food was excellent and I was not disappointed with the spaghetti, however, I thought service was very slow and not up to par with NYC standards. The room was pretty empty but the service of getting drinks, etc. was slow.
The polenta was great as well as everything else. Spaghetti out of this world and the breads very good.
I had the eggplant because I heard it was great and it truly was. So was the sea bass and the chicken liver crostini. The server was attentive and very nice. Tiny detail: don't order a decaf cappuccino. It was truly dreadful. Everything else was very, very good.
Walked out after waiting for an hour on a premise dish that takes 5 minutes to reheat. This is the 3rd time I have had terrible experience and I am done. Too many awesome restaurants in the Village to go to a place to have cold food served after an hour with terrible service.
Done with you!
Arrived at an empty restaurant on a cold NY early evening, post-Theatre matinee. After being placed in the front of the restaurant near the door, we requested a warmer spot, and seemed to be penalized, having been moved next to the server station and near a new draft from the kitchen. Again, the entire restaurant was nearly empty (and remained so when we left around 6:45 pm). This seemed vindictive. It was a shame, as it was a special night out for us and the food was fantastic, but one is left with bad feelings after being made to feel the way we were.
Table service was lax and quite uninspired; wish they would have paid closer attention. Had to beg for drinks and flag down the server every time we wanted anything. I appreciate when a restaurant service actually checks in with you before and after you place an order.
Came here for a birthday dinner surprise which I reserved using OpenTable for 5 people.
The staff was very friendly and the food was beyond amazing!
I had the shrimp ravioli. It originally came with lobster butter or something along those lines, but I don’t eat lobster, so they were nice enough to use regular butter (I hope!). Anyway, this was the beat ravioli I’ve ever had in the US! I was literally scraping the leftovers with bread! I’m already drooling because I need to come back to this place!
For dessert I had a tiramisu, and that did not disappoint either! It was so rich!!
A family member who couldn’t joined us called to buy the table a wine, and the manager (I believe) brought us the wine and served it.
At the end they brought the birthday boy a piece of chocolate cake which he wouldn’t share because it was too good to share. I absolutely love this place!
Definitely reserve a table as it was booked up!
Going downhill. Used to eat here twice a week for lunch and dinner. Lunch: meatball sandwich still great. Hardly any tuna in the" used to be greatest "tuna sandwich. All salads are very good. Service is non existent.
Dinner: Meatballs getting smaller and tougher. Portions are all smaller, and kitchen refuses to make even the smallest modifications. Service has declined substantially. It's sad. Loved this place in the past. No visible management.
Food was really good, but service was terrible. Restaurant was only about 20% full, but they insisted on seating our party of 4 directly next to a 2-top who were very loud. Added to that the general noise level was over the top, largely because of the very loud music; we asked if they could turn it down, given how few customers there were there, but they did not. Also we felt rushed the entire time -- if you don't want people to come to your restaurant after 10:00, don't accept reservations for that time! I love Frankie's in Brooklyn, but would not go back to this outpost.
Food was really good but a service was really bad. Seems like they were running short of staff. Drinks came late, waiter was clueless about menu items and barely came back to check on us. I've there before and went back with higher expectations. Dissapointed.
What a disappointment. We went on a Friday night. The noise level was unbearable. You couldn't hear the person next to you. The appetizers were unremarkable. Just okay. When the main courses came out, 3 were hot, one was cool and 1 was cold. When we finally got someone's attention we sent the cold one back. 15 minutes later we still hadn't gotten it replaced or even acknowledged by the waiter. He was AWFUL. We could not get ice for water or bread for the table. The pizza place across the street would have been a better choice. BTW-- We were at BABBO earlier in the week and the check was almost the same. Easy choice next time.
Management care here and it shows, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient staff and such tasty food. We went for a relatively early dinner so had a table outside, perfect for people watching and definitely quieter than inside, it was buzzing by the time we left. Would we return, a definite yes provided we could sit outside.
Some of the best pasta I've had since moving to New York paired with an excellent wine list. Located in an adorable neighborhood with plenty of space for outdoor dining when the weather allows. Brought some out of towners here on a Sunday evening and it was a lovely experience.
