Frankies 570 Spuntino
What Insiders Are Saying
While this isn’t a must visit, Frankies 570 is a reliable option that will be consistently packed with carb seeking humanity who might just appreciate the fact that Grateful Dead’s American Beauty is playing in full.
The food was good. My daughter and I had the gnocchi which were excellent. My brother and my son-in-law had the meatballs and very much enjoyed them. My wife had branzino which was excellent. And my mother had the eggplant about which she wasn’t crazy but she’s 97 years old and tends to be a bit hypercritical, especially about my wife’s cooking. (My wife is an excellent cook.) The waitress was not very responsive. When she was asked about the meatballs, her response was, “they’re meatballs.” Another one of her responses was, “Look at the menu.” My son-in-law thought she reminded him of a server in a Communist kibbutz. She probably is studying for her PhD in astrophysics or something.
So difficult to talk with all the noise. Needed to shout to be heard
Venue was very loud and hard to hear beyond the person directly in front of beside me.
The wine selection was limited and chilled ribeye better left in the kitchen.
Our service was barely adequate and the noise level in the restaurant was ridiculous. We could barely have a conversation at our table over the din of the restaurant. I was hoping that Frankies could be a reliable go-to in the neighborhood, but I doubt that's going to happen now.
I really love Frankies. Frequented the Brooklyn location for many years, and was delighted when I realized the Manhattan one offered food as consistently fantastic. The service is also dedicated, with intelligent staff and easy choices for wine & cocktails.
The one drawback to the Manhattan location is, in my humble opinion, the set-up of the space. The low ceilings make any noise echo like a megaphone, so if you have the misfortune like I did to end up next to a table where a wedding party was seated, you won't be able to hear a word from the people sitting across the table from you. You can nod along happily with a forkful of cavatelli (amazing, by the way) but don't plan on doing too much chatting.
We had to request to sit outside because the noise level inside gave me a huge headache. Way too echoey and loud. They did manage to accommodate us and seat us outside, which was a really lovely space. Food was good but not especially memorable. I would only return if it’s a nice night for sitting outside.
The ambience and service were good. BUT, the proportions were insanely small. Paid $18 for a tomato salad that was made of maybe one tomato (not exaggerating). And paid $30 for three small scallops and some mushrooms. Don't go here, unless they increase their proportions.
Favorite spot. Amazing food. Great for sharing. Date or small friends group. Waiter was okay this time, not that attentive - but food was amazing and so worth the money. Neighborhood gem!
Excellent food, wine and service. As always!
Frankie’s is so enjoyable we sat outside just lovely, the service was excellent and the food delicious. It was a delight and we will be back again !!
excellent italian food. price was moderate, service was very acceptable. enjoyed it very much!
Treat for 3....
My two guests were ecstatic; I ordered the magnificent gnocchi for the table as I wanted my guests to experience what I consider the best gnocchi dish in New York, they left little for me!
We had the cre
FOR BRUNCH ONLY:
It was Easter Sunday so I was surprised that the restaurant was more quiet than crowded at 1pm when our party of 6 walked in. I made the reservation early enough before Easter and requested outside seating so we can bring our dog along (this was a very common place to see dogs hanging with their families during weekend brunch before, which is why I selected it!)
We had originally requested with OpenTable for outside seating so our dog could just hang under or around the table. The morning the day before our reservation, I was called and told that neither of my requests were possible., NO way- we aren’t doing dogs on the patio anymore plus NO parties of 6 fit outside on the patio, That’s not even possible!” (Though upon arrival, there were many ways to accommodate the request.).
So that was the biggest disappointment-they waited until the day before Easter Sunday to tell me this news- making it impossible to get a different outdoor seating table elsewhere that allows a dog or could even take a new table at all in that matter!
Oh well- we stayed, dog-in-car, us indoors, anyway. Service was ok, took awhile for all 6 drinks to show up on time or ever in sync. Beer was so warm the first one was sent back when it was ordered at the bar.. Good food, just so deathly basic- nothing I couldn’t have done at home on my own. No instagram pics or stories were taken. The gnocchi needs way more sauce and less cheese. The best thing on the menu is the Kale Salad, don’t miss it. Otherwise this place is better for dinner.
I looked forward to that pasta and wine for months! Thanks, as always, for an amazing dinner.
Worth noting: They don't accept dogs on the outside terrace anymore
Nice food and good service. Perfect everyday place for dinner in the West Village. Will be going back for sure!
Fantastic food, one of my favorite Italian places. Also one of the few places to put raisins in their meatballs, just like my grandma!
Ambiance is good but not as romantic as the Carroll Gardens location (but how can you blame them for that) the food was excellent and the wine list - both glass and bottle - is perfect.
Frankies was an excellent Saturday lunch spot. Not crowded and food was excellent. Service was a nice tempo - we weren't rushed. Team working there was great.
Great food and vibe, for catching up with friends
Lovely restaurant but the food didn't live up to the hype. It was just ok and nothing really special in our estimation. Maybe it was an off night?
This is the third or fourth time we've been here. Incredible dinner, incredible ambiance. Every time we go, the menu is slightly different based on the season, but there has always been amazing options. We always get a starter, two entrees and a side to share so we can fully experience the menu. Nothing short of great on all fronts. Definitely, recommend.
Gnocchi was DELICIOUS, great service, good apps, huge wine list.
Love this place! Menu changes regularly, wine list is good and moderately priced but the service is the best part of this restaurant. The hostess helped accommodate our reservation when it changed from 2 people to 4 and couldn't have been nicer about it. And the waitress was so knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely recommend eating here!
We had a late lunch and definitely recommend ordering the tiramisu! Great place to catch up with old friends :)
It look 45 minutes to get our table but the staff definitely made it up to us since it was three of our bdays. They did a great job of taking care of us and allowing us to have a fun time. Thank you for that. They made waiting all that time disappear... that’s a rarity!
Great food and service but very loud inside the restaurant.
We go to Frankie's 570 about once a year for its authentic food, relaxed and cozy atmosphere, and professional, friendly service. The entire experience is always a happy one, and the menu is well worth exploring for its seasonal dishes and old favorites like the meatballs.
Frankies is excellent! a great west village spot with excellent fresh pasta. Would recommend for great Italian food!
We were celebrating our anniversary, and they couldn't have been kinder to us about it! They gave us a free dessert, champagne, and were just overall incredibly sweet. We had a great experience here, and would definitely recommend to everyone!
They have coloring for kids. Very accommodating.
We were a party of six to celebrate my husband's birthday. Everything was wonderful food was great service was great. The only disappointing part was that his birthday was not acknowledged even though on OpenTable reservation there is an option for special details. Upon entering the restaurant the lovely hostess did great my husband with a "Happy Birthday " and our waiter acknowledged to me that he was aware of the special occasion but that was the end of it.No tiny slice of cake, no candle. Very disappointing.
The staff was wonderful, the food was completely amazing, but holy cow: way too loud! We were screaming to carry on a conversation, and, “WHAT?” was yelled often. Would absolutely come back, but at a less busy time.
MENU CHANGES WERE DISAPPOINTING; USED TO COME HERE FOR SOME PRETTY SPECIAL ITALIAN SNACKS AND POLENTA, WHICH ARE NO LONGER ON THE MENU. FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOTHING SPECIAL EXCEPT PERHAPS THE MEATBALLS WHICH WERE ABOUT THE ONLY ITEMS LEFT FROM PREVIOUS MENU (THAT I REMEMBER) AND WERE TASTY AND AUTHENTIC. OTHERWISE, NOTHING SPECIAL, SORRY TO SAY BECAUSE IT IS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
Excellent food and service.
Great food served in a cozy friendly place. The wait staff was attentive without hovering. The meal was wonderful! I only wish that I could steal some of the chef’s recipes!!!! The butternut squash soup was flavorful and rich. The turkey cooked perfectly- the white meat was so juicy. All in all a delightful Thanksgiving dinner!
Great food and service. Too noisy & a little mire expensive than i expected.
Super nice and attentive staff. The food was amazing, a great experience all around.
Eggplant parm is the best we ever had!!
