The food was excellent ,as usual. The service was well below the standards of Frankie Rowlands. The intervals between service were way too long. Our server, Tiffany, became m.i.a. For much of our "long" stay at the restaurant. No other servers picked up the slack except to push more drinks and dessert.
A disappointing experience at one of my favorite restaurants. Thank goodness we were not in a hurry, and that the food was excellent.
The food was excellent until we got to the dessert. I had a fruit fly in my cheese cake.
I told the waitress and she acted like it was no big deal. Her words were" they come in through in the front door and we can't do anything about it"
The manager came out and apologized and offered me a free dessert.
I will go back.
I normally visit for client/business meetings but this reservation was actually for a corporate staff birthday. Normally the food is outstanding. I raved about how amazing the steaks were before arriving to my out of town guests so naturally everyone ordered the filet. We were all extremely disappointed with the meal. The steaks were very dry and the sear was too extreme. It left a "burnt" after taste. We ordered asparagus as a side but received scalloped potatoes. The waitress quickly removed the potatoes and brought out the asparagus shortly afterwards. The staff is always superb but the meal was very disappointing this time. My corporate staff probably will not want to return which is disappointing.
Reservations for 6:30 on Thursday 9/21/2017. All food is a la carte. Steak portions are very large, perfect if you are a Very Big Person. Garden salad was great, Caesar salads were 1/2 iceberg lettuce?? Steaks were cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely (pepper & salt crust). Steaks rated 9.5/10. Salmon rated 7/10. Crab cakes 7/10. Old Fashioned drink 5/10. Moderate beer selection. Good service except after Huge Bill came ($240 for 4 people (2 beers, 1 drink, 1 water) waitress disappeared for 12- minutes! Finally asked passing waitress to take up our payment. The atmosphere was ok for 1990 but sort of tired looking today. Most memorable part of the meal by far was the Huge Bill ... and the leftover steak portions. Why don't they offer smaller steaks like maybe a 10,12,14,16,18 oz rib eye for normal size people? Who eats a 20 or 24 or Cowboy steak in 2017? We have no reason to ever come back.

charred waygu steaks served in too much (olive ?) oil for my taste,left much to be desired and cut was not thick enough to be so deeply charred whole cloves were too intense and heavy amount in salad Maybe just a hint. Overpowered taste when biting into the clove

Frankie Rowland's never disappoints. I took my wife out for a quiet dinner to spend time after an out of town business trip. I requested a cozy window table in their overflow (Pollard) room. Frankie Rowland's not only honored my request, they did so even though we were the only couple in the Pollard Room. All other diners were in the main dining area. This made our evening extra special. Our server Kaitlyn was world class...personable and professional. Our martinis and filet oscars were perfect, as always. This is my wife and I's favorite restaurant anywhere. Fortunately for us, it's right in our hometown. Thanks Frankie Rowland's for going the extra mile for us. We look forward to returning soon.
Has been our 'go to' favorite place for special occasions- in this case our anniversary. We were very disappointed. We sat on the right side with me sitting on the booth type seating and my husband in a chair which was considerably lower. Ok- but the food is great, right? No.
Although our reservation was early evening, the salad special was already sold out. The brussel sprouts were charred and the au gratin potatoes were dry-looking like yesterdays pre-plated reheat. My lamb was not fresh and my husband's fillet was an uneven cut so it was cooked from well done at one end and rare at the other. Our chilled bottle of wine kept traveling and once had to be rescued from a return trip to the kitchen. In the past the pricy check was worth the great meal, but not this time. As we left and rounded the corner, we had the 'pleasure' of seeing the kitchen staff out on the sidewalk smoking and vaping. I hand wrote a letter about our experience and never had the courtesy of a reply. We don't mind paying for good value but that was not the case.
