Frankie Rowland's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Reservations for 6:30 on Thursday 9/21/2017. All food is a la carte. Steak portions are very large, perfect if you are a Very Big Person. Garden salad was great, Caesar salads were 1/2 iceberg lettuce?? Steaks were cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely (pepper & salt crust). Steaks rated 9.5/10. Salmon rated 7/10. Crab cakes 7/10. Old Fashioned drink 5/10. Moderate beer selection. Good service except after Huge Bill came ($240 for 4 people (2 beers, 1 drink, 1 water) waitress disappeared for 12- minutes! Finally asked passing waitress to take up our payment. The atmosphere was ok for 1990 but sort of tired looking today. Most memorable part of the meal by far was the Huge Bill ... and the leftover steak portions. Why don't they offer smaller steaks like maybe a 10,12,14,16,18 oz rib eye for normal size people? Who eats a 20 or 24 or Cowboy steak in 2017? We have no reason to ever come back.
excellent service and nice ambience. Back dining room less noise and less traffic.
service was excellent, menu well described, good wine list. Butter served with bread was lacking in flavor , bland taste
charred waygu steaks served in too much (olive ?) oil for my taste, left much to be desired and cut was not thick enough to be so deeply charred whole cloves were too intense and heavy amount in salad Maybe just a hint. Overpowered taste when biting into the clove
charred meat appetizer seasoned excessively with salt ruining the dish
excellent peach brioche dessert
Delicious krispykreme bread pudding
Frankie Rowland's never disappoints. I took my wife out for a quiet dinner to spend time after an out of town business trip. I requested a cozy window table in their overflow (Pollard) room. Frankie Rowland's not only honored my request, they did so even though we were the only couple in the Pollard Room. All other diners were in the main dining area. This made our evening extra special. Our server Kaitlyn was world class...personable and professional. Our martinis and filet oscars were perfect, as always. This is my wife and I's favorite restaurant anywhere. Fortunately for us, it's right in our hometown. Thanks Frankie Rowland's for going the extra mile for us. We look forward to returning soon.
Has been our 'go to' favorite place for special occasions- in this case our anniversary. We were very disappointed. We sat on the right side with me sitting on the booth type seating and my husband in a chair which was considerably lower. Ok- but the food is great, right? No.
Although our reservation was early evening, the salad special was already sold out. The brussel sprouts were charred and the au gratin potatoes were dry-looking like yesterdays pre-plated reheat. My lamb was not fresh and my husband's fillet was an uneven cut so it was cooked from well done at one end and rare at the other. Our chilled bottle of wine kept traveling and once had to be rescued from a return trip to the kitchen. In the past the pricy check was worth the great meal, but not this time. As we left and rounded the corner, we had the 'pleasure' of seeing the kitchen staff out on the sidewalk smoking and vaping. I hand wrote a letter about our experience and never had the courtesy of a reply. We don't mind paying for good value but that was not the case.
Everything was amazing!!! The bruschetta with the balsamic reduction is the best along with the Krispy Kreme bread pudding!!! Steak was so tender and the sides (get the Brussels!) were fantastic! Wait staff was very attentive! Overall perfect special occasion spot! Ps. Don't miss the Bellini martini!
Much like everything else being run by Millennials, this once great restaurant has gone down hill over the years. I had eaten here twice about 10 years ago, both times for business. My wife suggested going there based on all the raving I did about Frankie Rowland's over the years. What a letdown. The food was still pretty good, though when you pay that much for it, you expect better than pretty good. It was much louder than I remember. The service was not as professional. It used to be they would clean your table off with a little whisk brush, getting all the crumbs off between courses, that does not happen anymore either. My wife thought the food was good, but not worth the $200.00 cost. Only 2 drinks with that by the way. We decided to not go back.
It was our 46th wedding anniversary and a retirement gift from my school. The waitress and all wait staff were excellent. The salads were fantastic but the filet mignon was over cooked and very disappointing especially since it was $42. It was removed from my bill but it kind of ruined the experience for us. I would not return to a steakhouse that the chef doesn't know how to cook filet. I'll stick with Longhorn or Outback where it's always good!
Excellent food and absolutely wonderful service. Wife loved the expansive martini menu. Food was prepared perfectly and portions were generous - staff was accommodating to pack up what we couldn't finish for a great leftover lunch the next day. Cavitapi with cheese was one of the best sides we have ever had.
Excellent service, melt in your mouth steak, delicious salads and vegetables.
Brownie cheesecake disappointing...would not choose again.
But everything else exceptional!
Bartender Lucas and waiter Tyler were totally attentive and gave us an outstanding evening experience.
