   I ordered the prime grade New York strip. It was not as tender and flavorful as I would have suspected. We were seated in the back room and it did not have the coziness and ambiance of the front room.

   We have eaten here every time we come to Roanoke. This time the wait staff could only be described as indifferent, the meat was proper temperature but charred, and the au gratin potatoes were mediocre. We will be looking for other fine dining opportunities for the next time we visit Roanoke.

   We have dined at Frankie Rowland's a number of times before, and always had an excellent experience. Not this time! Our steaks were cooked medium rare on the inside as ordered, but charbroiled and burnt on the outside. We ordered bearnaise sauce, but were told it was not available because "the kitchen was too hot". Once our entrees were brought, our server never checked back to see if our order was satisfactory. A very disappointing experience, especially for the price paid!

   Everything was amazing. We celebrated our son’s graduation from Virginia Tech. Food and drinks were wonderful and our server Lily was very attentive and helpful.

   We were placed in the back room of the restaurant.... Not quite the ambience we expected for a meal that was more than $500 for 4 people, with only 1 alchoholic beverage purchased... A bit dirty and unkempt. The service was also not quite up to par for the overall price of the meal.. Food quality was good, and compared to other steakhouses in other markets of a similar caliber was not bad at all.... We just expected a little bit more for the price in our market. We will continue to come for special occasions, just not a perfect experience...

   Disappointing trip. Carrots are terrible, bacon jam was a few caramelized onions, hard and burnt. Steak came out nearly tar-Tar vs medium rare. Ice cold center. It’s not what we expected and expect from Frankie’s. They replaced the steak but the char was a bit much, reverse searing a steak then charring the outside would’ve been better. I’ve had better experiences here previously by far. The salmon was good.

    Not up to usual Frankie Rowland standards. Ordered Bloody Marys that were brought long after salads were served and only after we asked that order be cancelled. My Caesar salad was below average. My husband’s wedge salad was very good. Our entrees (seafood medley and salmon) were excellent. We shared Crème Brûlée which was generous and spectacular. The service was below average at best.

    Food and ambiance were very good. White wine was not chilled poor effort made to correct that. Service from main server was poor. Her attitude was inattentive, seemed bothered by her job to accommodate our needs as guests. We were celebrating a special occasion and chose this restaurant for our celebration. We spent a lot of money with our party. I would have expected better service.

    This location in downtown Roanoke was amazing! First time going & plan to visit again soon. Next visit will be the one in Salem hopefully they are just as amazing if not back downtown we go 😊

    We had a wonderful dinner with friends. It was both our first time dining here. The wait staff were very nice and quite attentive to our table despite being very busy. The food was great and we had a wonderful time.

    Our experience was colored by a large group that shared our room. It was 'The Loud Family." Our server apologized for that, and we did not hold it against them. It was an "event" weekend. Drink and menu orders were confused at our table, and some sides were cold. However, the mains were excellent, sauces sublime, and ambience, except for the large party, great. My rating is affected by our experience at another steak house that gets it right, every time. Not a bad place, but not spectacular. Enjoy!

    Incredibly terrible service. It took 5 minutes for someone to come to our table (of two) to give us water. It was another 7 minutes before server came to our table to get our drink selection. Seventeen and a half minutes later we received our drinks. A lesson was learned as if you think service will get better from the above.....it does not. Was it a bad night for them.....I am not sure, but you expect better service with our entree's starting at $49 plus paying for sides separately. We will try another place in downtown Roanoke next time.

    Fabulous food, as always, but service was lacking tonight compared to our normal visits and expectations. Water glasses infilled and waiter slow to take drink re-orders. And, why does it take twice as long to get a glass of wine than a specialty drink? Just not on their game tonight.

    Bread was rock hard, sides were cold, there was a group in the middle of the room that was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation with shouting. My steak was delicious, but another’s was a bit over cooked, as was the salmon. The service was extremely slow-it took a good 15 min before our orders were taken and 45-60 before we even had apps. The service was great when they were around, that just wasn’t very frequently. We had family in town for a funeral and wanted to take them out for a nice dinner, but ended up paying $70+ a person for a meal no one really enjoyed or could converse over.

    No idea where to begin. Caesar salad with no dressing. Filet so over salted as to be inedible and then server never once asked why did you not eat but one bite. Didn’t even bother to ask to box it up—-she knew. Potatoes au gratin so dry and lacking of taste. No idea how this restaurant portrays itself as a high end steak house when they can’t get the basics right and their steaks are just plain horrible. GO SOMEWHERE ELSEWHERE!! Spent 200+ bucks on a meal no one ate.

    Great service from the time we sat at the bar until the meal was over. The entrance to the restaurant left much to be desired but quickly improved once inside. Both meals we ordered were excellent. Ribeye steak and salmon were perfect. Seating arrangement could have been better. My wife sat in a chair that was at least 5 inches lower than the bench seat across the table that I sat in and she felt like she was sitting in a child’s seat. Midway through the meal another table was seated right next to us and all privacy was lost as I was on the same bench seat 2 feet away from a table full of men and we could hear every word of each other’s conversation.

    The service was outstanding and The the martinis were amazing. I was very disappointed that the establishment was out of bacon jam, hollandaise, bearnaise, and buerre blanc. Although the meal was delicious, I believe these would have taken them to the next level as the food was supposed to be paired with the various sauces. I come in often so hopefully next time.

    Enjoyed our anniversary at Franky Rowlands. Servers were very pleasant and helpful. A little loud, but there was a very large party in the room. Would recommend.

    The steaks were amazing, but nothing else seemed up to par. We ordered mashed potatoes and mushrooms as our family style sides and both were meh. The mashed potatoes were runny and flavorless. The bread served at the table seemed old and stale and the butter had taken on a flavor of musty fridge. We were sat at a table near the kitchen and I guess they were cleaning, but they kept banging things around and knocking the walls. Not sure I’d go back again.

    We had a very enjoyable time. My only complaint is not with the restaurant, but parking. We were not aware of any on site parking and the street had no available parking. Area felt a bit dark and we were uneasy with having to walk to our car.
