Rib Eye Steak
Very nice service does not hover or rush you. Knows not to clear until all are finished. We enjoyed our meal even on a busy Saturday night. Oysters served nice and cold. All steaks were cooked perfectly and top quality meat.. My wife got 8 nice sized lamb chops. The lobster bisque is consistently good. Wine list has a few bargains and something for everybody. Upbeat music, casual atmosphere.
I never give reviews, so this is a first.
One of worst dining experiences in recent memory for all four of us.
Terrible service, average food at best.
The Applewood bacon arrived cold.
Main courses- porterhouse steaks- took hours to arrive and when they did, they were not cooked to our request and had to be sent back. Once returned, they were overcooked and the sides they originally brought were no longer warm.
There were at least 5 tables that sat after us and left before us.
I do not mind spending money for a top meal and good service, but this was a disaster.
I've been to F&J before and was pleased, but will not be back.
This was probably one of the WORST dining experiences in 40 plus years. Placed in an upstairs corner, in table that was set up while we were left standing and waiting, table was basically behind a screen, away from the other tables in the restaurant and next to the entry to Kitchen/service area. Continually knocked into by staff walking by throughout entire night, not one apology. Waited for appetizers and food while table next to ours was served even after they arrived later. No one asked how meal was or came over to table to check in on anything. Given how name was pronounced upon entering, it Actually felt like we were discriminated against for either having kids or being Jewish. Complained and was told to ask for a better table next time. HORRIBLE. Horrible Horrible. Ruined the entire night. Zero customer service at best, discrimination at worst.
Food was good but meal was rushed from moment we stepped inside. Wouldn't let us order oysters unless we put our steak order in to try and rush us out. Not the right level of service for an expensive dinner
Fabulous meal with perfect service and ambiance
One of the best NY steak houses, period (and it doesn't matter if you go to their NYC or Rye location...they are equally good). Consistently top-notch food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
For the price of drinks the bar should give a better pour.
Very good experience, Food , Service and ambiance!!
We were visiting Rye, New York and looking for a special place for dinner. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Simply stated, if we have the opportunity to come back to Rye, we will head to Frankie and Johnnie’s. You will not be disappointed!
Great food and good service but a bit expensive. Drinks were average. Outdoors took time to get heated and music was a bit loud. But the food made up for everything
Steak, salads and sides are over priced for the quality you get. The Palm and Smith & Wollenskystill much better.
Great service , food and overall value
I’ll be back 👍👍
Service was superb
Food was perfect
Overall 5 star dinner
This was the third time we have gone to F&J for a birthday celebration. My wife and I enjoy this place a lot and it is our go-to spot for special occasions. We had another great experience last night for her birthday and look forward to more visits. The overall energy in the place was fantastic and I am so glad to see people living their lives again. Great place. The owner is also very friendly and always engages the patrons and asks about their experience. It’s a very nice touch.
Dinner with Friends F&J never disappoints.
The Seafood Tower was spectacular. Porterhouse and Salmon delicious cooked perfectly. Fun atmosphere great service
Great, large cocktails!!👍
Friendly and accommodating staff. Great atmosphere and consistently good food and drinks.
Perfect as always
My favorite restaurant in Westchester. Ambiance , history, food and staff , it’s all amazing and it’s a New York steakhouse at its finest
Ok, but not the same as the location in the city in terms of service or food quality. Had to send steak back twice, water glasses sat empty half the night, just good but not great and nowhere near worth the price. My partner did enjoy the lobster.
Food was great!! Service left something to be desired. Several servers passed our table saw we were finished but kept going. When we were ready to pay they got attentive
My Mom and I enjoyed the most delicious Lobster Bisque soup there this evening. My Mom loved the Pasta Bolognese and I loved the Chilean Sea Bass with carrots, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The owners-Jen and Vas surprised me with a birthday dessert with an amazing fireworks candle! The woman waitress was so nice and courteous. The support staff was lovely. The restaurant was bursting with great energy! My Mom kept saying “I love this restaurant! I want to come back at least 1-2 times a month!”
Food was great! Service was great!
IF you're looking for a warm and welcoming steakhouse that really knows its beef and how to prepare it, this is for you. Ambience is perfect. Staff is most attentive. A great meal.
Salad was wilted, brown and tasteless. Steaks were overcooked and not up to quality standards. Fish was salty.
Wait staff was lovely and accommodating.
Outdoor space was sparse and located right next to the garbage dumpsters which smelled.
They noticed it was my son’s birthday and brought out the coolest candle.
Steaks and sides and desserts awesome
Everything delicious, service was great. We were upstairs - lovely setting. However, it was SO COLD WE HAD TO ASK FOR THERMOSTAT ADJUSTMENT FOLLOWED BY NEEDING BLANKETS USED FOR WINTER OUTDOOR DINING. Never had this ridiculous experience - especially at fine dining venue. Our waiter couldn’t have been more accommodating.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Dover sole, said that it was delicious. I opted for the filet mignon medallions which were also good. But they tasted more like good Salisbury steak rather than filet mignon. In the past, during Restaurant Week I have had the filet mignon medallions & found them to be excellent.
The staff was falling all over themselves to take care of us. The manager, Vos, checked on us frequently. With such an attentive staff I would have thought someone would notice that our water glasses were half empty.
We will definitely return & I will order a real steak the next time!
Elegant restaurant. Top notch service. Dress code should be little more stringent.
Flip-flops, T-shirts, sneakers should be a no-no. The staff was dressed better than 50% of the diners. Outdoor dining area should be redesigned and rebuilt to at least compete to what you'd get inside. I was thinking of sitting outside until I saw the area, and immediately told my wife, "no way am I sitting out there."
3 friends going out for dinner. Food was good but not outstanding for the price charged. Steaks were cooked properly but 3 of us had the T bones and prime rib side was dry. Sides and appetizers were very good. We all had iced tea (3) and they charged us $32 with the refills, most places have free soda/ tea refills. We are regulars at Hudson Valley Steakhouse in Yorktown and prices here are a bit higher and the food is not on par with Hudson Valley.
Tremendous food, cocktails and service! Had a great time.
Always the very best in service food and ambiance
This restaurant is so inviting and pleasant to visit. We are greeted well each time we arrive. We also are accommodated with the seating we have asked for. The food is delicious, and always done to perfection I especially enjoy the salmon, the creamed spinach, and lamb chops! Desserts are devine
Dean was the best, as usual!
Vas never ceases to amaze us with the level of service and quality of the meal and dining experience at Frankie and Johnnie’s. We celebrated a special night with delicious food and wine and the service was impeccable.
Food is out of this world amazing!! You do not get rushed through the dining experience so you can thoroughly enjoy every morsel!
Still one of the best Steakhouses in Westchester. Not a big bustling one with harried waiters. I am sure you know what I mean.
This place is medium-sized ( not crowded) and the steaks are perfectly and properly seasoned, done to order. The seasonal appetizer was a gazpacho soup with great tomato flavor.
This was our first return in a year due to Covid, and cannot wait to go back very soon!
We noticed that have lots of outdoor dining on the street and in the back.
While the service was exceptional the steaks were very average and were not that great and the clams casino were not great. The ambience was nice The wine list was good and the desserts were very average. The jumbo shrimp were very very tough and had a bad taste and pokr quality. We had just dine the night before over at the new restaurant on Purdy Avenue called “Averna.” Their steaks were at least 4 to 5 orders of magnitude better. With regards to the value we didn’t see a lot of value for the $700 for four people. Probably won’t be back.
Dear Anthony This review was posted by the owner of the restaurant mentioned in the the review. They are new to the neighborhood and we wish them well. We are sorry they have taken to this tactic.
We had a really awesome meal celebrating my daughter’s completion of her clinical psychology PhD program and pending move to San Antonio with her boyfriend. Food was truly delicious from appetizers to entrees. I had the lamb chops special which were phenomenal , Cooked to perfection very tasty; well there’s had filet mignon with the same result, lobster ravioli was excellent ss well. Service and attention from our primary waitress was exceptional along with other wait and bus staff. No fault of the restaurant, but unfortunately it was a very drunk and loud man at the table next to us, I was continuing to drink I went from being loud to nodding off at the table and then throwing part of his drink at one of the other patrons at the table. So that interfered with the overall ambiance which is truly unfortunate since otherwise The ambience and the noise little would have been also 5 stars and excellent in all ways. I know it’s difficult sometimes to assess, and/ or hard to enforce but maybe the restaurant/bar staff should consider stopping the service of alcohol to any of the patrons at her obviously overly intoxicated as this gentleman clearly was.
