Rib Eye Steak
Food was delicious. Went for a birthday and they forgot the candle. Service was good but not great. We could have used more attention with our beverages.
Everything we ate was amazing. The noise level was a bit loud but the service was great and the space is beautiful.
Food and service always exceptional
If a restaurant can handle a major holiday (Mother's Day), they are very good! Food and service excellent! Can't wait to go back!
LOVE the food! EVERYTHING was outstanding. However, there was a a party going on downstairs and it was SO LOUD and out of control with noise that we could barely hear one another talk. It was very disturbing!
Excellent food! The price of wine is too expensive but the place is cool!
I was so disappointed by my dinner. The servers were thoroughly unqualified to be working at a place meant to be of high caliber. Things were wrong and they presented poorly. Dishes were cold and had to be sent back, assuming they sat for a while before being picked up. All fine and good for a place like the Rye Bar and Grille but not a place that serves $62 steaks. We were neglected at other times and some sides and sauces had to be repeatedly asked for and were very stingy portions when we finally got them. Really bad. I had another dinner for 10 in Harrison last night and it was marvelous. I made a point of telling my group to pass on Frankie and Johnnie’s. It was embarrassing.
Good seating and separation between tables. Fillet was great
The food was delicious our waiter made me the best mock mojito I ever had!! Overall I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Everything was terrific. Cocktails were delicious and our porterhouse for two was cooked perfectly medium rare.
First off I’ve been in the restaurant business for 30 years.. CIA grad ...we were put in a corner where we couldn’t even see the ambiance... out of sight out of mind.. we sat for 30 minutes before we were even given menus..drinks took 20 to 25 minutes plus and every one we got even though we ordered the same drink, each were different in flavor and in looks...the kir royale was served three different ways, the Negroni was different both times. Ordered bernaise sauce that never made it to the table..When we were served dinner we ordered another kir royale and a Diet Coke which didn’t make it to the table til after we finished our meals. You would think you pay $600 plus mot counting tip for a meal you would get great service along with great food. I was sadly disappointed...
I dont think I would return...especially with so many other steak houses out there.. time to move on to another spot.. I wish them the best I hope they work it out because I was looking forward to a great night with not going out in a while and with this whole pandemic going on, especially on my Birthday ☹️
Great service and great food - a solid premium steak dinner.
Great food. Great service. It is expensive but the quality and preparation of the food is excellent.
As usual, Frankie & Johnnies was wonderful. Food was delicious, service was excellent. Vas & crew are gracious, friendly and terrific caretakers. My friends and I always feel special, treated like gold and have a great, fun and laugh filled time there. Thank you.
Excellent quality food, perfectly cooked, and friendly helpful professional service. Reasonable COVID safety measures in place.
Sit upstairs. Get the french onion soup, their TBone steak and the Brocolli side dish. Their banana pudding desert is also a must try.
This place was one of the best steak houses I’ve ever been too! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Everything was great, the food, drinks, dessert and the staff just wonderful!
Amazing anniversary dinner!
Best steak in westchester
If you're planning to order a steak and do the classic American steakhouse dinner, then Frankie and Johnny's is a worthy spot. This is your white table cloth, martini + ribeye + potatoes-au-gratin kind of place. They do that food very well. Be weary of drifting to other choices on the menu (farm raised salmon?? cacio e pepe swimming in thick sauce?? beef tartare served with plantain chips??), as we were unpleasantly surprised by the lack of craft and preparation of these dishes. Stick to the basics and you'll have a lovely meal!
Excellent food, wonderful service
Outstanding, as always!
We so enjoy the food, the ambiance, and the friendly people! Food is always delicious!
This is a local Westchester steakhouse. If you keep that as your lens you will be fine with the steak. My issue was I was expecting, e.g., Keens or Wolfgangs. With that as the expectation I wish I tried Flames in Elmsford instead.
So we went here for my wife's 70th birthday. Appetizers were great, wine too, but when it came to the mail course which was filet mignons things went south. We have been here before so we were shocked that the quality of the beef was so bad. We didn't complain (we should have) and took what we didn't eat (about 1/2 of each portion) in doggie bags. We tossed the take-home in the trash container in the parking lot. So disappointed. This will be our last trip here. Benjamin's Steakhouse here we come!
Oh, and the dinner for two cost me $360!
Just no words but amazing
Vass makes everything perfect
The Octopus was outstanding as well as our Porterhouse for two. Our friend had the Veal Chop Tomahawk a special that night. Cooked perfectly and delicious! Great side dishes. Excellent wine list.
Service was attentive . A special place for sure.
Fran the manager was amazing and so was Ron our server.
We had an excellent experience! The food was amazing & service was as well. We also appreciated the screens up for extra covid protection.
Second to none !
Fantastic! Porterhouse for 2 medium rare was prepared perfectly! The beef was of the highest quality and was seasoned to perfection. Tuna Tartare was outstanding, and the French Onion Soup was the best I ever had (yes, you read that correctly!). Very safe and socially distanced restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!
Greatest ribeye anywhere. Go and enjoy. Nice size alcohol drinks.
excellent service and food was a work of art will definitely return
Excellent food, fantastic steak.
I've been to 30+ steakhouses in the NYC metro area and I am impressed by the quality of food and service here.
There's so many good steakhouses in/around NYC it's tough to stand out but I'd rate this a cut above most.
Perfect atmosphere and better food
They couldn’t find my open table reservation , the service was mediocre and the prices were outrageous.
I always like a big, rare, dry-aged Prime porterhouse for my birthday, and there are three steakhouses at the absolute top of my list: Peter Luger, Frankie and Johnnie and (if it's still there) Da Ivo in Venice, Italy. F&J never disappoints. The Rye outlet is totally different than the NYC original - instead of a raucous (pre Covid), checkerboard tablecloth joint, it's an elegant, spacious and airy white tablecloth restaurant.
Ourserice was excellent. I brought an "88 Chateau Latour and the waiter/sommelier properly used a CO2 opener to assure the cork came out clean and whole. I don't mind the corkage - these days, I want to do anything I can to keep my favorite places going. We ordered twice as much food as we needed so we'd have leftovers and a big bill - we have been out so seldom, why not splurge? I had a half-dozen Littleneck clams. Wow! They were the perfect size - medium to small - icy, briny, sparkling and the best clams I've had in several years. My wife had the East coast oysters, and they were big, smooth, and likewise, as good as they get.
On to the main event! The beef was absolutely perfect. I had asked for it "rare- red and basically raw in the middle, black on the outside, and barely warm on the inside. A notch past black and blue. And, man, he nailed it!! The home fries with onions were just exactly right, and the creamed spinach completed the holy trinity.
I don't believe there is a better steakhouse between Brooklyn and the North Pole. Some are close but it's hard to say any are better. Everything I have ever seen come out of the F&J kitchen looks like a feast, but all I ever eat is clams, potatoes and steak. And I feel blessed to have it just 15 minutes away when we aren't in the City. Quarantine in Westchester is made a lot more tolerable by a careful trip to Rye. Don't deny yourself... GO!!
Outstanding Filet with bone. Nice wine selection. Service was great. Fun atmosphere
