I have to say it was pretty disappointing. We came over from the Pulse on a recommendation from the staff. The food was pretty good but I must say the main server Sal was pretty abrupt and bordered on rude. He rattled off the specials as if he was annoyed to do so. The ancillary staff were much more courteous. There were only 3 other tables seated when we walked in so it’s not like he was being stressed. We had been at Benjamin Prime the night before and the service was terrific. The food as I said was pretty good but higher priced than the Prime and the wine offerings significantly over priced. I have to say if you’re looking for a great meal and great service Benjamin Prime is a much better choice.
Perfect and delicious
Great food but save your money for the high pricing!
The food was very good, but the server was arrogant and rude. Will not go again.
Outstanding service, great ambiance, we had really nice evening there.
Service was excellent however, my steak was just so so.
Have had way better for the same or less money. I travel all over and have eaten in some fine establishments in many city’s. I would rate this a 3
Everything was really good (well, the salad was good.. but not great)...steak done perfectly, sides lovely, dessert delicious (the espresso ice cream was the best I've ever had), drinks were robust (and even got a half pour of wine when we didn't want a full one!). We went back the next night for a nightcap and had a lovely time at the bar. Friendly, good, lovely ambiance.. a new favorite!
Good food, but no sides are included in the price of an entree, running the cost up considerably.
Great dinner. This restaurant is now a must stop on our trips to NYC.
The food, service and ambiance were all fine. But it is very overpriced. Everything is ala carte. So the filet came on a plate by itself, no garnish, nothing. A vegetable, extra. A potato, extra. I would not recommend or return.
Our meal at Frankie & Johnnie’s was so delicious. We are steak lovers and our Delmonico was done to perfection. Our server and staff was very informative and attentive to creating a wonder dinner experience. We definitely had to walk to the theater following dinner, because we were so full. We will definitely return.
The food and service were outstanding. Our reservation was for 5pm on Memorial Day weekend. Yes, that's early but we had a 7:30pm at the Blue Note. The portions are always more than most people can eat at one seating but that's an observation and by no means a complaint. It can get a little noisy later in the evening. Enjoy!
I cannot tell you how pleased we were with our experience! We came on recommendation from a “local” for our son’s graduation celebration.
Everything was fantastic. The food was out of this world. The staff was outstanding: attentive but not intrusive. They were also accommodating and were happy to suggest substitute items. Prices were more than reasonable. Ambiance was warm and inviting.
From the minute you walk in you feel like family. I highly recommend :)
brilliant atmosphere. best steak we have ever had. Porterhouse for two
We knew in advance about the prices but still went with high expectations. The restaurant was charming. Service was prompt. However, the food was only average. And so was the presentation. Actually, there was no presentation. Just meat on a plate with, maybe, something green thrown on there. Our filet was nothing special. At those prices I was expecting something special. We were both disappointed.
It’s getting tired. Waiters are snobs Overpriced and veal chop was burnt on the outside with no flavor other than burnt.
Ok this is a steak house that will be gone soon! Tomahawk steak for two $116.00 should not have been served ! Terrible piece of meat!
Food, service and ambiance are all OK. We had a member of our party in a wheelchair and fortunately she was able to get down the three steps from ground level to the lower dining room. I personally ordered a rib eye "medium rare" and would expect that a steakhouse would know how to cook it that way. Unfortunately not.
Will be returning again. From having a cocktail before dinner at the bar to our reservation, staff extremely accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this establishment
This was my first visit to Frankie & Johnnie's but definitely not my last! The extensive wine list drew me in and was a major influence in my decision to dine here.
We had impeccable service by the staff and everything we ordered was absolutely perfect! I ordered the surf & turf which was melt in your mouth perfect! My husband ordered the bone in ribeye and he was equally satisfied. If you love mango, I suggest you try the mango sorbet...it was creamy and naturally sweet.
Great dinner! Steak was excellent- served perfectly as ordered. Great Caesar salad and super gratin potatoes were delicious. Highly recommended.
Very convenient as it was located directly across the street from my hotel. With reservation we were seated immediately. There were several specials and ordering was very easy. Octopus appetizer was fabulous. I ordered the Veal Porterhouse, which was absolutely delicious. My wife went with the aged Ribeye, which was also outstanding. Wonderful evening spent for dinner with Frankie and Johnnie's.
The dinner was very good a super steak for us and the burgers for the children. The check was not so good but we are in US it is quite a normal way, around 75$ each for one main course.
Wonderful dinner experience from the service to the food.
Overall a great dining experience! Food was top notch and staff were nothing short of professional. A bit pricey but locally comparable, however, well worth the money. Would have liked to see a stricter dress code policy enforced at 7:00 on a Saturday night. I understand formal dress is a thing of the past but a restaurant of this caliber should require at least business casual.
Our food was wonderful and we had great service. Great meal before the theatre.
Birthday dinner at Frankie and Johnnie's Steakhouse. Great clams casino to start and excellent ribeye steak.
We came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The food was amazing and the steak was cooked perfectly.
Enjoyed a fabulous meal with excellent service. Steaks were cooked to perfection and delightfully tasty. The chocolate cake was heavenly and the wait staff was attentive and professional. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.
We dine here about once a year. This visit my date had clams casino to start and sea bass. She enjoyed both thoroughly. I had Caesar salad and a strip steak. Quite frankly, there is nothing special (or wrong) with the caesar salad here; however, the steak was perfectly prepared as was our asparagus side with hollandaise. The wine program here is really good . . . not overwhelming, just plenty of great options including both large format and half bottles. Dessert and after dinner drinks were a highlight.
It was supposed to be a NY steak experience and I ended up having chicken and mushrooms! The menu was very, very limited and Very expensive compared to the many other steak houses I have visited in NYC
Classic steakhouse with cozy imyou are in your own world. The steaks were millisecond perfect. Potatoes were ordinary but fine and the creamer spinach was good too if a little lacking in flavour but fresh spinach.
A must go to the tomahawk rib eye was amazing!! Service atmosphere was fantastic!! Been to many steak houses in New York this is one of the best.
Danny from Jersey via Romania was great. Made 4 Texans feel right at home eating steak in the Big Apple.
Great atomsphere. Loved the fried onions!
The waiter was borderline rude. The food was good, but not worth the price.
Always a good experience. Perfect for event at MSG
To start..this place is awesome! My wife and I were in town to see Elton John and stayed across the street from Frankie & Johnnie's. The service by Spiro and a gentleman who filled in for him for a bit (Didn't get his name but he told us he was originally form Mexico) was superb. They were charming and conversational without interfering. Truly added to our enjoyment.
The drinks were delicious. Then, the food started to come. Wow! Oysters Rockefeller were the best I have ever had and I live by the ocean and order them often. Crab cake was uniquely prepared and off the charts delicious.
Steak sandwich and homemade fries were perfect. Lobster ravioli could not have been better. The ambiance was so nice. We were going to try to get there for a night cap, but the concert was a bit longer than we had thought it would. A++++
