We celebrated my wife’s birthday, and the staff at this establishment did everything possible to make the evening enjoyable. The food was amazing, and so was the service. It was my second time dining there, and I would go back every time I visit NYC.
I would highly recommend the French onion soup and one of the dry aged cuts!
The food was phenomenal, as was the service. We for sure will be back the next time we’re in the city!
Service was amazing and the food was good. The special steak for two was a bit too greasy for me.
The food was amazing. We were treated like guests. Our server was very mindful that we were going to the theater and made sure we stayed on time.
Very good food and great service. Would definitely come back again!
Excellent meat and service
All was excellent
Great management & wait staff. Good location. Friendly atmosphere. I
The ambiance was quiet and clean but lacking the character I expected at the price point. Fantastic crab cake, onion soup and sea bass. Perfectly cooked, though under seasoned filet. Good service but a 60% empty dining room suggests trouble ahead. Dropping the price might be all that’s needed to have a winner here
Great from start to finish.
I recenlty went to dinner here with customers. Very disappointing as my filet and lobster tail were over done. I wrote and one of their managers responded immedialtey and offered $100 gift card for me to come back. I did this week and again was underwhelmed for the price. I ordered tomoato and fresh home made mozzarella. Anticipating wonderful flavors of freshness was a big let down. Bland tomoato and not one bit of any seasoning on any of it. No S/P or oil/balsamic. Bland!
Since I was there for redemption, I ordered a lobster tail. Again overdone but I said nothing as I'm not likley to return. I've been here before and the steak had been terrific. Not sure what happened in between.
I went here for my birthday with my two best friend. Fly in from Montana for it. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious! I am so happy that we picked this place for my birthday!! Our waiter Sal was fantastic!!
A hidden gem....a must visit if in the area. Very accommodating wait staff. Varied menu.
Early dinner for two before Billy Joel Concert. Restaurant understood our time schedule and delivered. Food was very good. Steak was cooked to perfection. Wait staff was attentive, polite and accommodating in every way.
We had such a wonderful time tonight, as always! Thank you to Sal and everyone else who made my birthday extremely special! I felt like a queen taken care of from the moment I walked in! We will be back soon!
Steaks are cooked to perfection. The staff are also very attentive and efficient. I had the prix fixe lunch, which is why I gave it value for money. The prices are higher for a la carte or dinner. Atmosphere is fantastic and a New York City must.
Our dinner was wonderful! We each had the filet mignon, done perfectly. Our server was terrific, just attentive enough without bothering us. It was expensive, but we expected that. Very nice atmosphere, highly recommend for a special occasion!
the truth a complete disappointment starting with the atmosphere. small ugly and dark
the waiter. it was not up to the expected. and the boss. from the bar a lot less. a total disappointment. since it was not. a particular day If not a special day. a February 14 I wanted. share. with my wife. the food is terrible. the meat. burned. of very little quality. the potatoes overheated. of other days and for the last price the most expensive not to offer anything at all. I would never recommend it to anyone and would never repeat in that place. I tell you with all my heart of the 3 times I've been in New York this is the first time I've eaten badly. please everyone who wants to rate this place with knowledge because people can not go there and waste their time and for the worst be poorly attended
The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was lacking; it by no way matched the food. Once the food was served, the staff didn't really check back or keep an eye on the table. We had spend some time getting the attention of staff to bring us another bottle of water, they served the appetizer and asked if we wanted pepper (to which we replied yes) but then the server got busy and never returned with the pepper. They brought a second basket of bread upon request and then took one of the bread plates off the table. When we asked the bus boy for a new bread plate, he said "no" and wouldn't bring one. After dinner, they don't bother "crumbing" the table. I suspect they are aware that they fall short on service, which may be why they don't even inquire at the end of the meal or upon exit, or thank you upon leaving.
Excellent service from the moment we walked in. The food was simply delicious.
Came in for Valentines Dinner with my girlfriend.
We were early, but got seated immediately by a very welcoming host that took our coats (I don't think they have bar seats open for pre-reception).
Our waiter was eloquent in reciting the specials, but truthful in recommending the Dry Aged Porterhouse for two($54 per person) over the tomahawk. I'm a true believer of the funk and dry aging, and this was delicious and right on point for a medium rare.
Spinach side was so simple and rich. Don't skimp on getting potatoes. We got fries, but I smelled the garlic mash from the table next to us and it was solid.
We obviously started with Lobster Bisque (velvety, deep and creamy) and Tuna Tartar (over a bed of cucumber and with such a nice citrus-y twist)
Wine selection was ample (and expensive), and we were recommended a simple bottle around the $90 price point.
Overall a very cozy table, the experience I was expecting of a steakhouse, and the chance to treat my girl to some awesome food.
Recommend. YES
Waiter must have been new, he was very unsure of everything. Martini was not good. Hair in the food.
It's a New York state of mind kind of place. You are lucky New York!
My friend and I came here to take advantage of the restaurant week lunch menu. I was seated very quickly even though my friend wasn't going to show up for another 10 minutes. The ambiance was lovely, albeit a bit dark. The server was very friendly and somewhat jovial. It was quite refreshing in a higher end restaurant. The prix-fixe was a bit more limited in variety as compared to others that I have tried, but much more consistent in food quality. It was also well-portioned. It really made me want to go back even without the restaurant week deal. I recommend it to everyone looking for a restaurant that's a little nicer, but not intimidating and unabashedly delicious.
Service was poor. Server did not pay attention to what we order. Steak was served slight warm, not hot. Will never go back.
Dinner and service were good. Deserts were okay and one was not good
Food was okay, not great. Portions were huge. The fireplace is a nice touch.
Food was delicious and the staff was so friendly!!!
One of my favorite restaurants for a special occasion. Due to the pricing i wouldn’t make this a regular dinner choice. The food is really delicious and the ambiance is very cozy and romantic.
A lovely setting and great food. Request a seat by the fire... it’s very romantic!
Great Job!
Attended with my wife and other couple. Great Food and service at reasonable prices. Only the onion soup was below expectations.
Steak was well done instead of medium and for a filet very dry and chewy. Drinks were okay but nothing spectacular. Service and location decent. It was restaurant week, though. Maybe it’s better when you pay the regular price.
we made a reservation for restaurant week because we had never been and my husband loves steak. Pre fixed menu had solid choices, and they accommodated me when I asked to leave out a few ingredients in the pasta I ordered. my appetizer came out incorrectly twice but I hate being that person so I ate it anyway. steak was cooked perfectly, drinks were strong. Staff was so pleasant. Overall a good experience and would go back for the regular menu.
I loved the food and the service. the staff was attentive but not over the top and the food was incredible I had the Filet mignon and shrimp my mouth is watering at thought of it.
Went for NYC Restaurant Week. The ambiance was great. Very quiet and elegant. The food portions leave much to be desired (don't expect a huge meal) but adaquet enough for me and my friend.
Restaurant week portion sizes were TINY! Shouldn't leave a restaurant after you have appetizer, entree and dessert and still be hungry.
Attentive service, great bartender, food prepared to perfection.
The food was a little underwhelming and the ambiance was decent. Great service waiter was nice! Went here for restaurant week, was pretty disappointed.
Server, hanging over our chair, could not understand the Russian accents, had to repeatedly ask to slow down, Steak was supposed to be MR ended up RAW, this was a huge business dinner, total fail!
