Rib Eye Steak
The porterhouse was cooked to perfection and our side dishes were tasty. The only negative was that we waited for almost 10 minutes before were were asked for our drink order, which would be understandable if the establishment was very busy, which was not the case. After the initial wait though, we were catered to quickly and professionally.
Everything was great as all my visits to Frankie and Johnnie’s
Much of the food was mediocre. Prices extraordinarily high. Although service was excellent I will not return.
Ambiance was amazing in the outdoor seating and the food was stellar! Best lobster we heave ever had…. And that is quite an accomplishment!
Mediocre food, not a lot of GF selections, including dessert. Would be hard-pressed to go back.
Inexplicably, the hostess chose to seat us at a cramped table in the bar area when we first arrived. We waited about 10 minutes for a new table, despite empty tables available upstairs.
The shrimp and crab cocktail were sad and flavorless. The salad we ordered never came. The porterhouse for two, which was ordered MR, was nicely charred on the outside, overcooked close to the surface and then raw in the middle. The Belvedere martini was watered down. Mashed potatoes were great.
An profusely disappointing experience.
Lakshmi was a great server!! She was sweet and kind and very thoughtful! Great experience!
We were there before our show. Great location for theater dining. Service was outstanding. Dinner was excellent. I had the calves liver and wife the sea bass. Both were phenomenal. Would happily recommend for dinner.
Excellent service, friendly knowledgeable staff, nice ambience, great side dishes, but the porterhouse for two was grizzly and lined with too much fat… Very disappointed with the steak… What a shame considering it cost over $100 for the steak alone
Great NYC experience. Excellent steak. Excellent sea bass
Overall had a good meal and the service is outstanding.
Food was top notch. Sides are family style can feed a few. Our waiter was a delight and friendly.
I will return.
Theater special was a good deal. Steak was cooked to the right temperature and the service was good.
Sandra made our night extra special. The $59 prix fixe theater menu was an amazing deal. We loved the crab, Caesar salad, tuna tartare, filet, and New York steaks, but the cheese cake was even better.
The food never disappoints, unfortunately, the service was not up to the level that we have previously experienced in the past, however, it won't stop us from enjoying again!!
We were there on a quiet Sunday evening. The food and service was great.
Had a blast. Excellent in every way. Great dining experience.
Nice place, good food and our server was attentive and friendly.
Great vibe, great service and great food
Glad to see F&J made it through the pandemic. It's a solid choice for a steakhouse dinner in the Theater District.
Delicious food! The shrimp scampi was one of the best I’ve had and my husband said the same about his ribeye. We sat outside in a partially enclosed tent on the sidewalk it was so cozy. The service was excellent. A great place!!
We had dinner at Frankie & Johnnie's on Sept 23, 2021. We had a great time. The food was excellent! We had a steak for two and it arrived perfectly prepared and conveniently sliced for sharing. Service is always a major part of eating out and service was outstanding. Our waitress was superb. Personable, friendly, and she had a sense of humor. She made it a perfect dinner.
Food was good but not worth the price charged. Not a great classic steak house.
I’ve definitely had many better lamb chops before.
NYC was a little thin
The Rib Eye was outstanding
Shrimp scampi outstanding
The wedge had a little too much blue cheese and not enough Bacon and tomatoe
Stay away. This is not the typical NYC steakhouse that you are after. There are so many other good restaurants to chose from. Ambiance is horrible; waiter was less than interested, side dishes have little flavor. The filet mignon was decent. Wine by the glass not very good. They bank on being on "Restaurant Row" in the theater district and are only open because of tourists. But please do yourself a favor and try another steakhouse, even if it's a bit further out of the area.
The restaurant was empty, the lights flickered on and off, and between three courses we experienced food that was at best bland and uninspired, at worst chewy and inedible. You have so many options in NYC, don't make the mistake of coming here.
Food was great. Service was painfully slow.
Steak was cooked right but I wasn't impressed. Side dishes and desserts were suboptimal
All set to spend the last night in NYC at a place I love. However the food was simply not good. Ordered porterhouse for 2, medium. Not a difficult task. It was very unevenly cooked and cold in some extra rare spots. So we sent it back. They prepared a fresh cut and it came out again very uneven , well done , charred (not by request). It was clearly cooked , cut off the bone , and then seared again. It tasted bad. I know my steak , and i expected more from here.
All that being said. I think i have had great experiences here in past years. But I would not order a 2 or 3 person cut because of this experience. I would go back to single servings .
The service was outstanding. The servers could tell this was bad. But i did not want to send back a second cut.
I’m hesitant to rave about this place, lest those who dismiss it as a tourist trap rediscover how great it is and I can’t get in. But alas, it’s tremendous and delicious. We will be back again and again. We loved it.
I love Frankie and Johnny’s on 46th!! I have been coming here with my kids for years whenever I am in New York. I cam to New York in the beginning of June and they were still closed from Covid. So glad they are back open. The food is excellent!! The service is great! I will keep coming back.
We really enjoyed our first dinner in Nee York here. Our waiter was so helpful and attentive. The restaurant was not very busy for a Friday night but the food was excellent! And I found it a bonus to have fewer Tables to compete with for food service.
Amazing service and food. Came for a bachelor party and had a great experience. Highly recommend this place!!
Food was outstanding and the service was top notch.
Unfortunately my friend and I were both quite disappointed with the food. Otherwise it would have been an excellent evening. The service outstanding and they were very Covid safe of course with limited seating. The beer selection was limited and the first one ordered was flat, which they did replace with another. We shared a wedge salad with bacon, but the bacon tasted old. We also had the Applewood Bacon Steak which honestly was well seasoned, but very fatty. I had the NY Strip which was perfectly cooked (medium rare), but the meat was not as tender as I would have expected. My friend had the Ribeye (most expensive on the menu) and was also disappointed in the quality of the cut. The mushroom and baked potato side dishes were perfect as was the coffee. But for the $300+ this meal cost it was certainly not worth it. We won't be back.
Our experience was absolutely great, as expected.
Service and food were outstanding. Our Server was so accommodating as we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The only issue we had was since we were dining outdoors the restaurant did not provide any policing of a street person coming to our table a few times (unmasked) asking for money while we were trying to enjoy dinner. I think there should be someone protecting customers from that.
Awesome team, service, and good!
We ordered Frankie & Johnny salad, lobster tails, strip steak w baked potato and choc mousse cake for dessert. Everything was delicious as always. Perfectly prepared and the service was great!
