The restaurant was very crowded so they did not honor the open table reservation. I thought that odd as other times when crowded they simply blocked out the availability on Open Table but not this time. So we drove there, were told it would be a few minutes but after 15 min of standing and waiting (no room to even sit at bar), we left and went elsewhere to eat. There were no tables that looked close to becoming available. Very disappointing.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Just a bit noisy. I mean it was very busy, which is a great sign, that the place is good. I will go back again. Thank God I did make dinner reservations because as I said, the place was packed.
We frequent Frankie & Augie'Z and as always, the food was delicious!
We were seated right away and the waiter was very pleasant and accommodating.
The owner came up to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. The portions are very generous! We all took leftovers home.
A great place to have a casual dinner with friends.
All of the food on the regular menu is outstanding. I found to keep away from the daily specials though- they are usually mediocre and not as high-quality as the regular menu
Always a great dining experience. Excellent service whether it's a slow or a busy day. It is apparent that they care about their customers. The food the kitchen prepares is some of the best around. My favorite is the Chicken Valdostano; crispy breaded cutlet, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, mushrooms, onions, marsala wine. Perfetto!
I want to like this restaurant as a neighborhood Italian casual family place. But we just don't like their food very much. Their red sauce looks and tastes like tomato soup with too much sugar and not enough herbs like oregano or basil. It's too sweet and just not my taste.
Food was good. Pastas were al dente and sauces incredible. Very good service too
Friendly, reliable and quick. Toatally casual on one side or available for events on the other.
We had reservations for four people. The four of us arrive on time. The host brings us to a table for four EXCEPT it only had two chairs. He walked away after leaving four menus and never returned with chairs. There many empty tables that we could have been seated at but he left us standing . After several minutes the waitress brought us to a different table. No apologies, nothing was said or offered. The host never came back to us.
The menu has many choices and the food is okay if you want to remain in the area. We ordered antipasto where all the mussels were closed tight. We had to ask that we get mussels that were opened. It was our first time here, we won't be rushing back only if we want Italian food that's just okay.
We were all from out of town for a niece's West Point graduation, staying half hour away. The restaurant's service after our graduation celebration event was the BEST: they tracked me down (through my cell phone for the Open Table reservation -- great benefit) after one of my guests had left some of her gifts at the restaurant. Really appreciated that extra effort by the restaurant staff and for being there earlier enough Sunday morning that I could get on the road to other points westward. It was a crowded Saturday night, so a bit noisy, but we had lots of fun. Food was solid Italian meal and plenty of it (if you want leftovers, this is the place). The chicken Marsala I had and the steamed vegetables were excellent.
Went with 2 groupons for 2 people each and the waiter would not accept 2 for the table. He did not check with the manager to see if any exception would be made. We ended up purchasing an additional groupon for 4 people at the same price. Food was decent, not the best or worst Italian I've ever had.
This is one busy, loud, Italian restaurant, where everyone seemed to know someone there, like the “old neighborhood”; a good sign. The place was packed and lots of pizzas walking out the door for meatless Friday. I’m glad I made an Open Table reservation.
We ordered drinks and a basket of freshly made bread and a dish of seasoned olive oil arrived at the table. As expected for a restaurant serving pizza, the bread had good chew. Due to the crowds, our server was good but could have been more attentive...more on that later. Our order included fried calamari appetizer, linguine in clam sauce, and scungilli & calamari fra diavolo. The calamari had a nice crisp breading, not oily, and had a sweet and light texture. The linguine was full of clams and garlic but needed a bit of salt. And unfortunately the restaurant ran out (or didn’t order enough scungilli – very disappointed) and our server offered more calamari or a substitution of shrimp. I went with the shrimp. The dish arrived with plenty of seafood. But the sauce was lacking and our server didn’t return so I didn’t inform him it was lacking any pepper flakes and was very similar to the sauce on the side dish of pasta. While he offered he could have brought the pepper flakes as he took the bill...it was too late to fix. Overall it was a good dinner, the pasta was al dente, the amount of food was plentiful, and the food was tasty. I’d go back but I would call first to make sure they have the scungilli.
They advertise happy hour and the bar was packed with drinkers and diners. They also had live music - a piano player. Not sure if this is an every day feature or not.
Our go-to place for good Italian food in a casual atmosphere. Service is always great.
Great service, food was ok
Stopped in for lunch because we had business in the area. Service was very attentive. The Tortellini en Brodo was very good (& a generous portion). The Eggplant Rollatini was average (good, but nothing to write home about). The veal was most disappointing (a good brown sauce, but the veal was tough). First time here; next time I may try the pizza.
