The chicken kebab was the BEST. Nice live music as well!
My fiance and I traveled to Galena from Cedar Rapids for a weekend getaway to ring in the New Year. Because we were booking late there was only one room left at the Irish Cottage! We jumped on the opportunity and booked the room. After reviewing the website and the events for New Years Eve, we made sure to reserve a table for the Irish New Years at 6pm. I loved the Pub like atmosphere from the lighting, the beautiful carved woods and the Irish inspired artworks. I was delighted to see the staff so happy and joyous as it seems they love their job and that is reflected in their level of service they provided us. My critique of the Pub would be the menu and the drink selections. I'd love to see more craft cocktails,a larger whiskey library Drinks and ingredients inspired by Ireland. The hotel and the pub do a great job of transporting you to Ireland except for the menu, which takes you right back to the US. The food was good but it was too "American bar and Grille".
I also thought it would have been great to have a drink special from 5-6 for the Irish New Year to initiate purchasing action. 1/2 off Guinness Pints for the New Year!
Thank you for the great stay, the excellent service, and for making it feel so special :)
Loved all of it!!
Atmosphere was terrific, the food was EXCELLENT! Our family LOVED it there. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting there and likes a good Irish pub!
WOW! Love, Love, Love this Gem of a Place!!!!
The Food was Wonderful and authentically Irish. Great Selection of traditional and Irish Beers.
Live Music was pretty Great too.
We're Hooked and will go back every chance we get.
Already miss their Shepherds Pie and A New Favorite.
Alway our first stop for a weekend in Galena! The staff, food, drinks and entertainment is always spot on. A fun cozy place to have s great meal and Guinness! A++
Went there for entertainment and decided to have dinner. Food was fair . Fish and chips, fish was over cooked. Music system was poor singer sounded muffled. Did not stay. But singer was good.
Our first visit was for dinner. The traditional Irish beer and food selection was great. The decor and Irish folk singer brought back memories of the pubs we visited in Ireland. We enjoyed it so much we came back 2 days later for lunch.
The food and service were very good. The music was a nice addition to our meal.
