Incredible as always...
I’ve been here several time but wanted to bring others to try it. Everyone in our party thought it was outstanding in every way. Definitely rates as a top go to spot in town!
A little loud but the food was great as always.
Nice lunch with family
Great meal, little slow, little noisy, beautiful ambiance.
Food was delicious. Especially the vegetarian egg rolls!
Typically I enjoy your restaurant but my last visit, although good, did not seem up to your very high standards. The fried chicken which I usually love was on the dry side rather than the moist crisp chicken I recall. We waited half an hour for our food (2 dishes) to arrive which seemed like quite a long time. I will be back again but I hope the experience will be singularly positive.
Frank Fat's is an "old" Sacramento standard and it just keeps getting better! The food is consistently outstanding - diverse and interesting, flavors clear and direct, ingredients fresh and tasty and a GREAT value! We had a combination of the "special" - five courses plus "noodles" (chow mein) for one kid and a broccoli beef for the other kid. Everything was fabulous: delivered quickly and HOT and abundant. We come for special occasions and will make it a special occasion more often! Thanks so much.
First time here after 40+ years in the area. And it is as great as I have heard. It was a busy evening, quite full in all the dining areas, and yet the service was prompt and mostly delightful. The hot and sour soup was rich and complex and full of shrimp and tofu and seaweed. The house special noodles,Sang Gai Shee Cow Mein, were tender yet just perfectly chewy and full of black mushrooms and snow peas. All the vegetables in our dishes were crispy tender. And the green beans were just superb. We did save room for the famous banana cream pit, and it is worth all it's fame. We did have one server who was very rushed to remove our serving and dining plates, before we had finished serving and eating. It was so odd, and uncharacteristic of everyone else who was extremely gracious. Recommend for the food and a truly "Sacramento experience".
Frank's is a WONDERFUL place. Great food and atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion or after an event at Golden One Center (4 blocks away).
The restaurant was way over crowded, the main room reminded me of a cafeteria. My husband and I were seated in the back in between 4 other tables. It was SO noisy we couldn’t even carry on a conversation. No sooner had we sat down, our waitress in way too big of a hurry to take care of the masses delivered ice water to our table spilling the whole glass down the front of me. Yes, she apologized and yes, she got napkins to help me clean it off but I was soaked through and through and we had to leave. It was only once we were at the front door did the manager come talk to us and offered to take our name and “comp. something special” the next time we came....really! He did pay for our parking but I will be in no big of a hurry to go back. How was the food? I have no idea....
FAT'S IS ALWAYS GOOD, SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN
Loved it, everything was great as usual!
First time there, went for the legendary banana cream pie, which was delicious. I also love that they put lichee nuts in their sweet & sour pork. Combination fried rice, honey walnut shrimp and potstickers were also exemplary. It was noisy and crowded on St. Patrick’s weekend with Jimmy Buffett playing that night, and the staff rose to the occasion admirably.
We tried new food. It was okay. Loved the fried chicken and great service. Was very loud due to concert at Golden 1
We love Frank Fats. Been coming for decades. Whether just for two or family celebrations. Love the booths in the back. Food is always delicious - love the shrimp and green beans. Everything was very tasty. Thank you.
I have was wanted to eat here for several years. It met all my expectations. The dumplings were Devine, my wife loves salmon hers was perfect and I enjoyed the 3 item kungpow. Service was outstanding.
Frank Fats is iconic in Sacramento. It is where the 'who's who' in politics goes. The service is impeccable and the food is excellent-never greasy always tasty.
Outstanding service and very accommodating of diner tastes and preferences
Nice ambiance with unique Chinese artifacts on the walls. The pot stickers and Kung Pow chicken were outstanding. We were less enthused about the Immigrant beef and Hong Kong Style Chow Mien - the former was a little tough and the latter a little bland. However, there are so many other dishes that we want to try, we will be back!
Classic restaurant feel, outstanding service, and a well-varied menu. The food at their other locations is more flavorful, but these dishes were good.
Such a Sacramento classic. Our party doubled in size to 8, and we were easily accommodated. The service was professional and attentive without being intrusive.
The food? Fabulous. Flavorful and balanced. Well prepared.
Great food and great place to eat. Walking distance to Golden 1 center. Happy hour specials for food are a bargain.
We went there on a tip from a friend who works up in Sacramento, were from the Southern California area...we were there to celebrate an award received by one of our friends. Happy hour drinks were off the hook!! ,we were going to order off the main menu, but choose the HAPPY hour appetizers instead, every single one if them...excellent choice , all 4 of us were completely satisfied...definitely coming back...
Food was excellent. Sever was great. Too loud but it was great!
We were early diners on our way to a concert. Very lively atmosphere, fabulous food and great service. A real Sacramento treasure.
FABULOUS FRANK FAT'S! Food was amazing; especially the Honey Walnut Prawns. Drinks were great. The service was very nice, attentive and fast. Would have liked the table to be a little bigger -
we had a booth with 6 people and with all the plates and drinks it was pretty tight. Will definitely go again and highly recommend!!
Great dinner for my son’s birthday.
Being located very near the Golden 1 arena, it is popular, busy/full, loud. Service was ok. Food was pretty good. Chinese Chicken Salad was good/average. Spring rolls were good/average. We really like the location when going to events at the Golden 1 Arena.
Usually an exceptional dining experience, this particular evening it appeared as though the restaurant was severely under staffed.
We had a limited time for lunch and we do not go over. Food was very good.
I enjoyed the vibe a lot. It is super noisy but I liked the feel of it and found it energizing rather than annoying. Great service and yummy food.
Excellent service and delicious food. Thank you Frank Fats staff!
My husband and I made reservations on line for dinner. We had to wait a little longer than our reservation time for our table. The staff independently acknowledged our wait and were extremely apologetic. Although we waited a little longer for our table, it was worth it. Our table was upgraded to the best big table in the house. They comped our appetizer and desert. The service was excellent! Thank you Frank Fats, dinner was delicious and the experience was pleasurable.
Our past experiences have been great, but the service was slow this time around. The servers acknowledged this and tried their best. The food was delicious, as always. It’s a Sacramento institution and I wish people didn’t dress like they were going to Applebee’s.
Fabulous food, every dish ! Hope to dine there again.
Food is consistently good. Our server recommended getting the duck as an appetizer to share and it was outstanding.
Food was wonderful and perfect portions. Banana Creme pie is worth the visit!
Late Valentine’s dinner
This place had been hyped up to me by friends who had eaten here. However, they didn't hype it enough - was one of the best dining experiences I've had in my life.
