Frank Anthony's Gourmet Italian Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed when we arrived at 7:45 PM on a Saturday evening and were offered a bar high top for 2 right outside the kitchen door instead of a regular dining table. I did not know this was a sports bar from the description on Open Table. The host said it would be a 30 minute wait for a regular table and all reservations are seated at the high tops. The table was very small for diners who order several appetizers before the entrees. All 3 apps came out at the same time leaving the table overly crowded. I had to remove the oil cruet and condiments to have room for the wine bottle , water and wine glasses and extra plate to share the food. The food was average bar food and that is okay if that is what you are looking for. The service was what you expect at a sports bar. We have our own business and have very little leisure time to enjoy together. We look forward to our Saturday evenings to dine out and this choice was disappointing for us.
Parking Lot was very tight, then when we walked in and were pleasantly surprised with the spacious inside. We chose to sit In the outside dining area, which was very nice. Gina was very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately our eggplant appetizer was burnt... a gentleman came over and we expressed our concern and he apologized and brought out a new appetizer which was excellent... the food was very good overall. I would recommend this place for a casual night out just make sure you carpool..
The staff was friendly our server was excellent the restaurant was clean . I had the shrimp and scallop scampi special , my wife had the veal scallopini special, she said it melted in her mouth ! , my sister & son had the salmon special. All of us loved our meals . Can't wait to go back !
Outdoor dining was delightful (gorgeous flowers line the seating area). While service was above par, I found my food high in salt content. Next time I would mention that to the wait staff before ordering. I also found most of the food items were overloaded with cheese. If I had know that, I would have altered my selections from the small plate menu. I love the idea of ordering different foods from the appetizer menu and think it's very creative to be able to order 2-3 or 4 different items at the same time. Prices were fair and our waitress was attentive. I give the restaurant a 3.5 overall but didn't have that option on the rating form. Definitely not a 4.8 in my opinion but perhaps I should have ordered less food with red sauce.
This is a solid but no frills Italian restaurant in Verona. Only went for lunch, but think the same menu works for dinner, and it was reasonably priced for fine quality of food. Have had takeout form there several times, and food always excellent. The space is adequate, but hardly fancy, although the outside deck room looks a tad nicer when it opens in warmer weather.
Went for an early dinner on New Year's Eve. Booked on OpenTable but no indication that there was a price fixed meal. We decided to stay but the meal was so so at best. My fish was overcooked and tough but my companion liked his steak. I would not go back there again.
