Frank and Dino's Ratings and Reviews
The Zucchini Flowers were amazing , the food fantastic and George from Woodside (our server) was terrific!! Our only complaint was the seating. Sal, who apparently is a regular, was basically sitting in my lap. He commented on everything we ate, spoke in his native tongue very loud and had no regard for our personal space. We would definitely go back but we'd request to sit on the other side of the restaurant!
Very nice Italian restaurant with contemporary decor.
Food is delicious and nicely presented.
Our waiter George was EXCELLENT! Very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine being offered. Suggested us to try the stuffed zucchini flowers as an appetizer and we were very happy with such choice. Very good pastas, and my veal piccata al limone was delicious!
There was live music, which is always very pleasant, especially for us lovers of Sinatra's music.
I will definitely return!
Was anxious to try because of all the outstanding reviews. We had a nice evening, but I was not overly impressed. Food was good - not great. 2 of us had the seafood special, one had a veal chop and the other had Chicken Sinatra. I think the Chicken Sinatra was the best dish of the night. Veal chop was good, but a bit bland. Service was OK, but no offer of fresh pepper for our salads or main courses and no offer of freshly grated cheese for our pasta. For dessert, we shared the "mile high" chocolate cake, but it was a sliver... Liked the live music.
We had a 7:45 reservation and were told that no tables were available and that we’d have to wait or sit outside. No ambiance at all outside, cheap patio furniture and plastic placemats, and an attemp was made to squeeze six of us outdoors around a table for four. After deciding that we wouldn’t get a table anywhere else on a Saturday night, we decided to wait and were not seated until 9:00. This restaurant overbooked many reservations that night, and there were many dissatisfied customers.
Once we finally sat down, the food and service were very good.
If you’d like to try this place, don’t go on a weekend.
The restaurant is lovely the food was great, but!! We had a 7:30 reservation, it was confirmed during the day. We got there by 7:30 and were told we had an hour wait. Unexceptable!!!! We did stay and waited, but we're not happy. Fortunately once we were seated the food was very good and our waiter was also. I would recommend it but my husband probably won't go back.
This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
The crowd was a little diverse but I have to keep in mind that it was a Thursday night. It was nice that that they had live music (a woman singing), however, at times it was hard to hear ourselves speak. It was a nice touch but it could have been a little softer. Overall, it was a nice experience.
We had 8 o'clock reservations. Went to the bar. Good bar crowd. Waited until about 8:20 were told our table was ready. Then we were told they made a mistake and it wasnt for us. We went back to bar but lost our seats. Waited until 9pm for our table. They put us right next to the door and the hostess. No table should be there. We ordered our food and waited another hour until we finally got our dinner. We wound up not eating until 10 pm with 8 pm reservations. The management did nothing for the inconvenience. Food was just OK...definitely not worth the wait.
Although the food was excellent and the service great we had an 8pm reservation and arrived promptly, we were told by the girl at the front there would be a short wait since we were 6 and they had people who added guests to their tables. After 45 min waiting no one was getting up so we asked if we could sit outside and we did. No one came out to set us up or ask for a drink order even after the front of the house offered us a free round. They finally sent us a waiter but once again the food took almost another hour to come and it seemed as though no one remember we were even there. Our waiter Gene was most accommodating but the management only recognized us upon payment of the check. They did comp one round of drinks but overall the experience was enough to keep us from ever going back. There are many excellent and upscale restaurants in the area which we have and will continue to patronize.
I was disappointed in the entertainment. Hardly any RatPack era music. We were expecting upbeat Sinatra, Dean Martin etc instead low key sad downbeat music. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and service was perfection otherwise. Also great bar staff!!
Our first time here ! As frequent diners we really liked it . Bar crowded making resturant noisy but lots of energy . They had a female vocalist who was amazing . Service was just okay and coffee was not decaffeinated but this seems to be everywhere we dine (up all night again) :(
Definitely will be back !
After going to the original Frank and Dino's in Deerfield, my wife and I were expecting a fabulous experience. Besides the name, nothing is similar to the original. The setting with white table cloths and "men in black suits" greeting at front are pretentious ! The food was OK, but not worth the high prices charged. I wouldn't have minded the high prices if the restaurant warranted it.
To make matters worse, I told the Maitre D that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and I asked for a birthday candle in a desert to be brought after our main courses. Of course he said. Well, we never received the desert with a birthday candle ! The waiter never mentioned anything about my request - I was so put off, I never bothered to ask where it was - I just paid and left, never to return. Too bad, we loved the old place.
