Fair. In my opinion they could ramp things up. Maybe a new chef is in order. More organic, use better oils, aka EVOO instead of canola.
Nice dinner with friends
Food poorly prepared I could not eat my food never again
The food was good and the service was terrific. We really like the outdoor seating at the front of the hotel.
I left because I never got served
Good food and great service!
Food was top quality. Good value for the money. Service exceptional
I have dined at Frank and Alberts a number of times and I always request the patio as it nice to eat outside when visiting AZ from Chicago. However, they always seem a bit out of sync if you dine on the patio. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. However, we were seated in a dark area of the patio - no candles or lights on the table. A request for a patio heater was met by confusion and a statement of "we don't have any". We could see at least 5 patio heaters at adjacent tables. After 3 requests for a heater, one was brought over, but no one could start it and the person who knew how, never showed up, so we lit it ourselves. The food was well prepared and delicious, but has become quite expensive ($20 for a hamburger and fries). You should go if you are in the area, but should probably eat inside for dinner service.
Food was good. Surprisingly poor service.
Honestly one of my worst meals ever
Slow service, very long waits between courses
Requested rolls or bread, never delivered
About the smallest, toughest, overcooked rib eye I’ve experienced
Our Waiter Tommy was Amazing! Professional, menu knowledgeable and friendly! A wonderful asset to your fine establishment. We certainly recommend asking for him when dining there. We were also impressed with the overall service and Delicious hand/homemade food! We also noticed the Manager was very attentive as well.
The food and service were excellent. However, there was a group of diners who had no regard for other patrons......very, very loud. It made conversation with my wife nearly impossible without yelling. What could have been a relaxing meal was spoiled by the noise.
Great resort casual dinning.
Buffet items located in cold area of restaurant. Ordered off menu.
There were things we liked. The setting is pretty and historic. The waiter was knowledgeable about the history. Our table was missing placemats and when I asked the waiter to bring a few more he said he liked the table without them but brought 2 more. The amuse bouche compliments of the chef was very good. The scallop entree was also very good. The steak and potato side dish not so good for the price. The kitchen staff was attentive and everyone was helpful. Being a birthday celebration the dessert was great and presented in a nice manner. We might give the restaurant another try and sit outside on their lovely patio. Nice jazz combo in the hotel lobby area.
The waiter was marvelous! Food was alright. We went for the tour and stayed for lunch.
We booked a table at Frank and Alberts for NYE dinner. They were offering a 3 course + dessert menu for the occasion for $90. Problem is, they still were mixing those of us who were there for the nice NYE dinner along with people who were just there to eat off the regular menu. So folks all around us were eating burgers and were being loud. The management should have separated out a special section for those of us who were there for the NYE dinner. Seems obvious. Won’t ever do this again.
I went with my family for NYE dinner; therefore, we had a Prix Fixe Menu to choose from. A soup, a salad, a main course and a dessert buffet. The appetizers were good. As for the main course, my mother reported that her halibut dish was very salty and she ended up not eating it. The rest of us had the braised pheasant as our main course, which was really tasty. It was just way more than what we expected, basically half a chicken. All in all, the food was not spectacular, but it wasn’t horrible either. We’re here on vacation, so I would probably not be returning to the restaurant for awhile. Depending on your food pallet, I think this restaurant could be a good choice for special occasions. However, it wouldn’t be my first choice food wise.
The service was excellent and all staff members were professional as well as pleasant.
First time to this restaurant. Liked the atmosphere and the food was good. There is one thing I would like to see at all restaurants. I do not like things that are spicy. I ordered the fish taco and they were very good, except I could not use the salsa as it was very hot. I have a medical condition that does not allow me to eat spicy or foods high in acid. Would be nice to have a choice.
Delicious Food, friendly and fast service
We made a special trip out to see the hotel, which is stunning. The restaurant has a great selection, was casual, and comfortable.
Average in every way except for the price. Definitely overpriced!
I don't know what has happened with the kitchen/chef(s) at Frank & Alberts, but the food/presentation/quality has really gone down hill lately. We were disappointed they did not do a Christmas buffet as in years past. We ended up ordering off the limited menu instead of the 4 course Christmas menu. The portions were extremely small and offered with only 1 protein and either 1 starch or 1 vegetable. There were no small side salads offered. I ordered the salmon with vegetables and it came out in a small bowl with a piece of fish on about 3 broccoli heads and 1 baby carrot - all for a grand price of $35. Very disappointed!!
The food was delicious. Two days later and we are still talking about the different flavors, and detailed presentation.
Another Christmas, another brunch @ Frank & Albert's. Nice dining room in a beautifully decorated hotel. Friendly staff serving 3 star faire at 5 star pricing. Time to start a new tradition elsewhere.
Have been dining at the Biltmore for lunch on Christmas Eve with friends for over 10 years. This year there was a very limited menu offered. No sandwiches, except 3 burgers. Only salads were appetizers. Very disappointing. 4 full dinners offered. Were not aware of change in menu for the holiday. Waiter said that it was to be able to serve quicker, so they did not prep other lunch items. The restaurant was not that busy, similar to past years. Time for a new tradition, I guess.
The good was great, we sat outside by the fire so it wasn’t noisy or crowded, but the service was terrible and the drinks, particularly the wine was a rip off—
When we ordered, my husband asked for the house red wine. The server said it was “The Prisoner” a blend. My husband has had it before and said fine. When we got the bill, a single glass was $38.00. Seriously?????
He asked the waiter how much of a pour it was and he said 9 oz. we questioned him at the time and he had a lessez-faire attitude and was kind of flip about it. It was NOT a 9 oz pour as we went hone and did our own 9 oz pour—- much more than what was served. I also went online to 2 wine sites, Vino Volo and Total Wine and an entire bottle, on both sites, was LESS THAN TBE ONE GLASS COSTS. I tried to contact the manager yesterday but No one answered the phone.
We will NEVER go there again-and I suggest you don’t buy their wine......there are better restaurants in Phoenix with better prices. Rip off.
Overall a very good dining experience; however a scallop dish we ordered was served without one of the primary ingredients...the cream sauce!
Once pointed out to waiter, it was quickly corrected, but in a restaurant of their reputation, cost, & reported quality a mistake of that nature is almost inexcusable.
As the food & service were very good, we will go back the next time at the Biltmore.
Sat inside in dining area. Least inviting of spaces. Wood tables unadorned with anything. Outdoors nice but cool that night. Bar and indoor courtyard like area much better. Made reservations but restaurant didn’t have record of them. Service good. Dinner menu very limited and quite uninspired. With so much competition in Scottsdale area this restaurant if it doesn’t up its menu may have fewer and fewer dinner customers.
Excellent Chicken tortilla soup and the scallops were cooked fantastic. Great service and good food.
My husband and I were staying at The Biltmore for my birthday, and had breakfast at Frank & Alberts. The food and service were great, and we appreciate how our waitress, Hannah, wished me a Happy Birthday and offered a bday mimosa. Thank you, Hannah, for making the breakfast a great start to my bday weekend!
Very limited menu, narrow range of options, and forget it if you're a vegetarian or want to limit meat consumption. Lunch menu is even worse--not a salad without meat. Need to reimagine a more inclusive and diverse dinner and lunch menu. Food prepared and served well, nice setting, but way overpriced. Disappointing.
Service was not as expected for the Biltmore. Had to wait for a high chair longer than we should have. Asked for no onions in my entrée and it had onions. Had to ask for Ice-T refill, and Had to ask for ice as it was not cold. Adult entrée came out before the kids. Probably will not be back
The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived and our initials service was slow. As the evening went on, service was excellent.
The food was good but the atmosphere was a bit noisy.
The food was delicious. The service was great.
We had patio reservations, but with the weather, we were moved inside. Unfortunately, despite there being many open tables, we were seated right in front of the kitchen which made it very noisy, making the overall experience not great.
My Thanksgiving was ruined by the terrible service, horrible food and lack of ambiance. We went to Wright's in 2018 and thought we would try this place this year. Oh what a mistake.
Less than impressed… The resort is so gorgeous and has such a long-standing reputation I think it’s time this restaurant up their came a little bit… Food was just mediocre compared to competition in the area… It just wasn’t very exciting.
Watched the 7th game of the World Series!!
