My wife and I use this as a fallback for a wonderful evening out! Tracy, our server, was fantastic and cordial. The food, as always was incredible. I recommend and take friends here when trying to impress. You just cannot go wrong. Go there, find out what you are missing!!
Anniversary dinner. This place is delicious. I had the salmon and my husband had the escolar. Both were beautiful and delicious. We both had the salad and for dessert we had the carrot cake and creamsicle Miso Pot de Creme. To die for! Both so delicious we couldn’t decide which one we liked better. It was the perfect anniversary dinner.
Wonderful food, great ambience and excellent service. We took our kids and the service was a bit slow to accommodate them but they enjoyed the meal and the server accommodated their requests with kindness and thoughtfulness. Soup, as always, was creative and delicious. Highly recommend!
Great food! This a great mix of unquie meals and comfort food. Excellent service. I true gem in the southern Salt Lake valley.
My sister commented that it felt like high class but she felt comfortable like she was right at home.
We have gone to Francks for at least 15 years celebrating our anniversary. I wish we would have known about it sooner.
Love this place, the staff, the food everything.
Make it your special place too.
Easily a top 5 favorite restaurant. The wagyu sirloin tonight was life altering! As was the creamsicle donuts for dessert... It'll be tough to top that but I'll let them try!
Always a great dinner. Never disappoints. Each item delicious.
The art of the hamburger was what we were there for last Thursday. That's the specialty on Thursdays. But if you plan to have that, request it when you make your reservation. They only make so many. We were there at 6:30 and there was a question about if we could have that. We did and it was spectacular
Frank's never disappoints! Food is so good, service is always great!
We’ve been to Franck’s over ninety five times in the last four + years. Most of these have been for ‘Tasting Tuesday” and we can’t recommend this weekly event highly enough. $35 for three courses, different each week, plus an unadvertised soup that is always inspired – a combination of sweet-savory that will have you wondering how he did that. The ‘he’ is Robert Perkins, the head chef.
Kudos also to Mike DeHaan, Franck’s manager. Mike is not just a ‘greeter’. He also helps with table service, manages the wait staff and does an incredible job in maintaining the hundreds of plants that grace the entrance to this delightful small restaurant. We LOVE this place!
So what was on this week’s Tuesday Tasting Menu? Lamb ribs, Sake-brined Cornish Game Hen and a Lime Rickey float for dessert. Same old stuff YOU probably had this evening!
Amazing as always.
Always an excellent meal! Leisurely pace, great for enjoying amazing food and talking with friends.
We love Franck’s. It is our favorite special occasion place. I love the ambience and the service and food are top notch! Worth the money for sure.
This is always a great restaurant to go to for it is I think the best restaurant in Utah bar none. The food preparation is unique and distinctive. The wait staff is very friendly and helps you with wine choices to pair with your meal and everything else that might come to your mind.
Always one r perfect place for special occasions. Great unique food great service. Just nice. Food is unique but in a marvelous ways.
Another ‘Tuesday Tasting Menu’ winner from Robert Perkins, Franck’s head chef. I could give you the list of ingredients but many of you would have to Google them, as did I. LOL Let’s simplify it: Goat cheese and beet salad with strawberry kimchi was the starter. The soup (unadvertised but always an impressive combination of sweet savory) was raspberries and chili oil.
The Main was pork barbecue with maize and fried peanuts and Angie’s amazing dessert was a cognac and cherry tart with crème fraiche gelato.
We love this place; see you next week!
Amazing as always.
Really, fabulous and unique food. We alway order the Brussel Sprouts. It is hard to choose, everything looks so good.
Wonderful food and excellent service.
Francks is well worth the price. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and the dessert was even better.
Franck’s is our favorite restaurant; we’ve been here over ninety times in the last four years, primarily for ‘Tuesday’s Tasting Menu’ but occasionally for special dinners hosted by co-owner Mark Eaton. The head chef at Franck’s is Robert Perkins and he is a phenomenon. How he comes up with a different four-course tasting menu every week is beyond me. As I said we’ve been here OFTEN and that tasting menu has been different every time.
Applause also for a fine kitchen and wait staff. Mike, the manager is excellent. Valet parking is twenty feet from the front door. We can’t say enough good things about this place – but we keep trying!
P.S. Hi Odin!
We came here for Mother’s Day tasting menu. Fabulous! Our first time here and we’ll be back! With Friends! Such great combinations of sauces, fruits, nuts, and edible flowers with every dish and awesome presentation! At first we were skeptical, given the descriptions of the menu, but it all worked! What an innovative chef!
The food at this place is always excellent and creative! We have been there many times including Thanksgiving and it is great!
We took my Mom there for the special Mother’s Day Brunch. We were seated right away and when my Mom realized she forgot her glasses the host loaned her a pair of readers so she could see the menu.
All four courses were beautiful and delicious and the service was great.
Francks never disappoints!!! Beautiful, intimate dining with food that is always fresh, new, interesting and amazing.
Creative cuisine and relaxing atmosphere. Mary's Southern Fried Chicken, served with a spicy coconut sauce, pickled peanuts and slaw, was the best fried chicken I have ever had. My only complaint would be that the server didn't give me more spicy coconut sauce for my leftovers. The servers were very attentive and accommodating. I don't know what took me so long to get here, but I will definitely be coming back and telling all of my friends.
Great food and service.
Fantastic - all we expected and much more. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, concise and complete menu, incredible flavors and textures in the food, quiet, casual atmosphere. Somewhat expensive but well worth it.
It’s always good here. The best in Salt Lake.
First time at Franck's and I will definitely be returning. I was so impressed and enjoyed the food immensely. Everything was so delicious and unique and like nothing I've had before. It was like a whole new level of culinary experience. Beautiful food and presentations, wonderful classy atmosphere, and fantastic flavors and textures in every dish. Highly recommend!!
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed our evening.
This week's "Tuesday's Tasting Menu" was Branzino Crudo, Strawberry, Jalapeno & Creme Fraiche soup, Pork Belly Curry, and Vanilla Bean Flan with Caramel - pretty much what you all had at home that evening.
Those of you who actually read these reviews know that we are BIG fans of Tuesday's Tasting Menu but I'd like to give a nod to the 'special' dinners that Franck's has about every three months. These are the inspiration of Robert Perkins, the head chef at Franck's and Adam Vickers, head chef at Tuscany. These are four-course dinners with or without alcohol pairings with each course. The nominal fifteen bucks for all four pairings is a bargain.
Franck's is our favorite restaurant and will remain so as long as Robert is the chef and the rest of the staff retains the high degree of service that exists now. We love this place!
Fantastic meal and attentive service from start to finish. I recommend the crispr brussel sprouts and heirloom tomato pie appetizers.
This was our first time eating at Franck’s. We weren’t disappointed. The service was spectacular. The food was unique and delicious. We are definitely going back !
Tasting Tuesday is always an amazing experience! The food combinations and flavors are beyond what you'd expect/imagine.
We've been to Franck's almost ninety times in the last four years, primarily for 'Tuesday's Tasting Menu'. Presuming I'm still alive - and Robert Perkins is still the head chef - I'll be here another ninety times in the next four years. This is, in my opinion, the best small restaurant in the entire valley. We live five minutes from downtown and a dozen times a year we'll have dinner at one of the fine restaurants located there. That said, we'll be at Franck's two to three times that number. An outstanding chef and kitchen support staff, an attentive and knowledgeable wait staff, excellent management, an attractive settling both inside and out make this neighborhood gem of a restaurant totally compelling.
I took my wife there for her birthday. I had only been there once prior years ago and it was her first time and we absolutely loved it. We enjoyed a full 4 course meal with appetizers (the brussel sprouts were honestly to die for), unique soup yet tasty, very good entres and delicious desserts. We definitely want to go back and would recommend it to anyone for any occasion really. All in all it was a great place to eat and a fun experience.
