Franck`s is a casual fine dining restaurant set in a renovated old home with a warm, contemporary design. The dining room is small and cozy; it’s a friendly neighborhood "getaway". Franck`s menu may be described as American with a French flare. On the menu you will find classic American comfort food such as fried chicken, meatloaf, and steak as well as classic French dishes such as escargot, cheese fondue, etc.
At Franck`s our chef and his team prepares your meal as you watch him in our open kitchen and on our dining room `chef cam`! Franck`s sets a new standard for excellence in cuisine, service and ambiance at reasonable prices.
Friday & Saturday 5:00pm - 10:00pm
We absolutely LOVE Franck's and find as many "special occasions" as we can to go spend an evening there. The soups are always so creative and never disappoint, and we cannot get enough of the brussel sprouts and heirloom tomato pie for appetizers whenever they are available. The atmosphere is cozy and we've always had wonderful service. My husband and I have made many wonderful memories enjoying the incredible food at Franck's.
This chef knows how to blend flavors and balance them, really outstanding, top chef, quality. Easily best of Utah. Soups are not to be missed. Tried six dishes and all were outstanding especially the lamb shank. Five of the six offered nuts and all were different and added great texture.
I took my mature teen with me, to introduce her to their wonderful fondue. Then their donuts for dessert. This place is cozy and has a wonderful menu! Only request would be to add a vegetarian option to the menu. I will keep coming back though, so great!
Amazing food and staff, informed, accommodating.
Our favorite go to place
I can't begin to tell you how much we like this place - but I'm going to try. We've been here over a hundred times in the last five years, primarily for Tuesday's Tasting Menu. Chef Robert Perkins, excellent kitchen staff, and exceptional wait staff make our regular visits here almost a family affair. Seems like I forgot someone.....no chance!!.....Mike DeHaan is the manager at Franck's and greets everyone who enters that front door. This is a superb small restaurant with exceptional food, great service, and a charming environment. We live ten minutes from downtown Salt Lake yet we choose to drive the extra miles to Franck's every week we have free.
The outside atmosphere was amazing and beautiful. Inside it felt like a cheap Chinese restaurant. It just didn't feel like a restaurant that should have $100+ tab. We don't drink and the only soda options were Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite, so we ended up only getting water, which seemed to be unfavorable to our server. A couple members of the wait staff came to our table smelling like cigarette smoke, which was unappetizing. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves very much. However, we probably will not return because of the things I described.
Me and my two tweenage kids had a fantastic meal! Between the starters, salads, soups and main dishes and desserts we tried 11 different things off the menu. We shared them all and here are our thoughts:
We ordered Brussels Sprouts, fondue and the tomatoe pie. My youngest didn’t care for the Brussels Sprouts, or the tomatoe pie. We all loved the fondue! Me and my son absolutely loved the Brussels sprouts - so crunchy and wonderful flavors! I really enjoyed the tomatoe pie, lots of herbs and fantastic flavors.
Soups and Salads:
Great dressing and toppings on the wedge salad - super yummy. Son and I loved the soup, but since it was made with roasted peppers, it had a roasted/burnt flavor my daughter didn’t love.
Sous vide steak, fried chicken and lamb shank. Names don’t do them justice. All were surprisingly flavored, interesting and delicious!
Fresh donuts, carrot cake and ice cream sandwich. Again, names don’t do any justice. All were absolutely fabulous, decadent and delicious.
Overall had a fantastic time and loved the exceptionally high quality of the food. Will go again for sure.
We went out to celebrate my birthday and dinner was incredible. The staff was amazing, service was on point. The wine list was incredible! Great recommendations from our server. We look forward to enjoying many more dinners here in the future.
Our favorite restaurant in the entire Salt Lake Valley. We live thirty minutes away from Franck's and are here every week. Okay, okay, so we're not here ever week but we're here almost every week we're in town and that adds up to over a hundred times in the last five years. Why? Best chef and kitchen staff, best manager, best wait staff.....I'm forgetting something - got it: BEST FOOD. This IS the best small restaurant in the valley and Tuesday's Tasting Menu, at thirty five dollars, is the best value in the state.
I had the tasting menu. I am always amazed at the soup that he creates. I don't know how he does it, but he takes 2 opposite things that really shouldn't go together but the union is always a happy one in my mouth! My friends are equally as delighted as me.
Absolutely top notch - food, atmosphere, service was perfect in every way.
The burgers here are amazing! If you haven’t been on a Thursday night for burgers it’s a must.
Excellent time was had by all, Tuesdays Tasting menu is the way to go, the best!!
Best small restaurant in the Salt Lake valley! Best chef: Robert Perkins, best manager: Mike Dehaan, best wait staff, best kitchen support staff. Franck's is a 'doll house' both inside and out. Valet parking is twenty feet from the front door. Tuesday's Tasting Menu is our standard fare but the 'regular' menu is also superb. In five years I've never had a single dish I didn't enjoy.
The Brussels sprouts were good. The patio was beautiful on a beautiful evening. The meal was overpriced. It was good food. Not amazing. We had a gift card so it made it worth it. Otherwise I would not have been happy with how much we paid for the food. The ambiance on the patio made it a very great night.
My all time favorite and go-to spot for the best meal and dining experience in SLC
The food was really excellent, particularly the Waygu beef, as was the service.
Whimsical place! Food and service were excellent! Being able to see the food being prepared on a tv screen was interesting. I would highly recommend this place for any type of event!?
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City. The serving must all love their jobs because the service is outstanding. We had a friend from California with us and she said it was one of the best meals she has ever had! And if you haven't been there, don't miss it and order the meatloaf...you won't be sorry.
Just another great tasting menu evening. Went with the girlfriends parents. They loved it.
Best small restaurant in the valley. Best chef (and subsequently - best food), best kitchen staff, best wait staff and best manager. Easiest access from and to parking lot, best interior and exterior appearance. In a word (make that three words) 'best of everything'. We've been here over a hundred times in the last five years. If you don't believe that check the reviews. Yes, we're Franck's best fans!!
Never fails to impress. Be sure to try the pork cheek, fondue and go on Thursday for hamburger night!
Best overall restaurant in SLC, patio is very nice
We love Franck's. One of my favorite places to eat in Utah.
Franck’s is amazing- the service was impeccable, the food was unbelievable, and the menu options were totally unique, unlike anything else! The salmon was super fresh & perfectly cooked, the prime beef was just as perfect, and all of the veggies were super fresh & amazing. The patio is really beautiful as well- this is a foolproof option for a special occasion or special date.
Franck’s never disappoints! Tonight was no different- the chef’s combination of flavors and textures is GENIUS! If you want relatable food taken to the next level, Franck’s is your place! It’s quiet, intimate, and the food is delish! For dessert we had a Miso Pot De Cremé and it was honestly the best dessert I have ever had! The secret ingredient is masqual vinegar. OH MY GOODNESS!! Brilliant!
Let's see: we're moving on up to a hundred and five visits to Franck's in the last five years. Your logical question would be 'can't you find anyplace else to eat?!' Uh....yes; but nothing in the valley compares to Franck's and while we do dine elsewhere, this is our first choice. Tuesday's Tasting Menu is the best deal, Robert Perkins is the best head chef, Mike DeHann is the best manager, the kitchen crew and wait staff are outstanding, both the inside and outside of this small restaurant are welcoming and immaculately maintained and parking is twenty feet from the front door. Our Tuesday nights here are frequent and ALWAYS delightful.
Our Franck's experience felt like a mini honeymoon! The service was impeccable, food was exquisite and the ambiance was just wonderful! We had a memorable night and is definitely on our list of date night faves.
The food and staff were both excellent. We ate outside and the night and area were very good.
The manager came around to check if everything was going ok on a regular basis but never too often.
We never felt rushed, all courses arrived in a timely manner.
My date is not shy about asking for, and expecting the best. We moved from inside to outside to enjoy the warm evening, Inside can feel a bit cramped with the low ceiling. A sample of the soup was provided to make sure it was just right. It was wonderful. The servers allowed us to enjoy our conversation, without hovering, but were always there when needed (and there were many requests). The food and presentation were excellent! Come here for the food. Unique and exceptional.
All around great experience but could have been more generous with the portion sizes for the entrees
Food was exceptional, as always. The dishes are creative and super flavorful. Very attentive and friendly service. We should go more often, but we usually end up saving Franck's as a special treat for ourselves.
We’ve been to Franck’s over a hundred times in the last five years, most often for Tuesday’s Tasting Menu which is the specialty and ‘first love’ of head chef Robert Perkins. Tasting Menu – let’s see, that means tiny portions where you leave hungry, right?
We’ve long passed the point where we need a six course meal to get ‘full’ but that won’t be a problem at Franck’s! Tuesday’s Tasting Menu is $35 for four courses (including an unadvertised – and ‘AMAZING’ soup. BUT….if that’s not enough, order the Brussels Sprouts as a pre-course and I GUARANTEE that will be more than enough for anyone in your group…..and don’t try to eat the entire plate full by yourself! Just as an aside, even if you think you don’t ‘like’ Brussels Sprouts you will love these!
Okay, so much for the menu, let’s get to the restaurant: Franck’s is a small intimate restaurant next to Tuscany…they share the same parking lot. It’s like a doll house inside and out. That’s largely because the manager, Mike DeHaan, not only acts as ‘greeter’ for every guest but also maintains all the outside plants.
The kitchen staff is exceptional and the wait staff is both professional and informative, attentive but not hovering. This is our very favorite restaurant in the entire valley, but I suppose you could have guessed that! LOL
Franck's has been our go-to place for years. The food is amazing as Chef Robert is brilliant.
Amazing food and amazing service!!!
Best food in SLC! Nothing else like it in the state.
Food was amazing. The meatloaf is what I would recommend. Couldn't ask for better service!
The service was wonderful, The food delicious,, but I think the price was just a bit much. However, I will come again!
I had the most amazing salmon I have ever had and everyone I was with (table for 7) enjoyed their dishes. We had the fondue app and Brussel sprouts and others ordered the halibut, the burger, the fried chicken and meatloaf. The dessert was a miso pot of cream. Everything was so delicious but I will be dreaming of the salmon until my next visit. Absolute perfection!
Another outstanding 'Tuesday's Tasting Menu' at Franck's. We've been here over a hundred times in the last five years, primarily for this special offering but don't take that to mean we couldn't find anything on the regular menu! Give the Brussel Sprouts a try (you've never had any that tasted like these!) and the daily catch is always delicious. Great wine list as well. Never had a mouthful of anything here that wasn't delicious.
The staff is incredible, starting with Robert, the head chef; every person here is an 'expert'.
