Franciscan Crab Restaurant
This was our third visit for dinner. Never disappointed. Always great service, great food! We’ll be back for more!
Our food was very good some were excellent like the Italian meats and of course the crabs both cocktail and grilled were amazing. The only downside was the high cost!
It was perfect. My favorite restaurant in SF.
Tourist trap... ridiculous pricing for poor quality food
Great waiter and awesome food.
A SF icon that still has great food and view! Great place to take people visiting
Great experience. The food was good our wait staff were pleasant and polite. Enjoyed every moment and happy to spend a holiday & birthday there. Might make this a tradition. Excellent!
Late night dinner option after a flight from the east coast. 9pm reservation. Great food that came out super fast and great service. Would definitely return
It is very well served and service is outstanding- friendly and fast. I recommend strongly the crab enchilladas.
Had a really nice meal here whilst visiting San Francisco it was recommended to us and now we wouldn’t hesitate to do the same
Brought 17 clients in. Everything was great!
Great place for a sunset view. The crab is good but pricey @ $50 for a medium size crab.
Noise level is loud and lots of casually dressed tourists.
We take the kids for views is Alcatraz after Pier 39 fun.
Fun, casual place with good service and they take big groups.
I have previously dined here and it was great. The service was very good this time around. The only disappointments were that my mussels in the wine sauce were overcooked/dry and I had to return the clam chowder because it was very watery/runny. This review is only for this one evening. I'm not going to say that this is a horrible restaurant because of this. If this happens again, I will not be a returning customer.
I ordered the cioppino and a half dungeness crab. My tourine of soup was 80 percent tomato liquid. After finishing this it was about 40 minutes later before anyone checked on me. I had never received my half dungeness crab. They cleared my table and I inquired about the crab. The guy clearing my table didnt speak english. Finally the waiter came and asked me if I wanted dessert. I told him I had never received my entree. Finally a half hour later I received a really nasty looking piece of crab. They had actually cut the crab body in half and let the guts from the body spill out onto the crab legs. It was pretty disgusting. I tried to clean it off as good as I could and eat some it but this was ridiculous. No dipping sauce, just the innards from the body all over the legs. I couldnt get an idea of what the 40 dollars worth of crab might taste like untainted. I paid my 80 dollar bill and left.
The restaurant is in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and has a good view of the bay from most any seat. Neat layout and comfortable. Our server did a nice job with recommendations and explanations. Great place for crab and seafood.
Overpriced, too much oil in the food
We discovered Franciscan’s 10 years ago and absolutely love it. The food is amazing. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. The scenery from every table is awesome. We are from Phoenix but Franciscans is a must do every time we visit San Francisco.
Poor quality seafood. Large double shrimp and crab skillet consisted of 2 dozen tiny shrimp and anorexic crab legs for $55 US. There are way better options in the area.
Terribly disappointing. Food cold and presentation without any effort. Waitress was attentive however. Ambience poor and kitchen staff very noisy. We were the only people in restaurant. Overpriced!
Love the food and decor
Food was okay. Atmosphere was good. Two people in the party ordered the crab chowder which was not hot when it was served.
Overall a great place for view and classic decor and photos, but food was super salty. Not like in the past. Waiters were visibly stressed and rushed, and we felt it. Another tables food came to us, twice.
The seafood was very fresh and good.
Amazing food and view!
The service was very good. Food was good and the view was beautiful!
I loved the crab but not the sauce. Next time will ask no sauce and bring my own. Noodles were OK but the sauce I am spoiled by Crustacean in Beverly Hills. Kustard was huge & delicious.
Great food and it appeared that every table had a great view of the bay...
"A Lot of Crab" is definitely a lot of 🦀. It was like two crabs altogether. The clam chowder had a lot of clams too (although a not as thick as usually like it.) The Caesar salad was kinda bland.
Next trip to Fisherman’s Wharf we’ll be looking for somewhere else to eat. Franciscan has priced themselves out of our range, even for special occasions.
Great food and service. Very nice view overlooking the bay.
Food was great but once our crab was delivered we had to ask for the bibs, tools and sau e to go with it. The best service was from the water guy who kept refilling our water and cleaning the shells. Hope the tip went to him not the waitress that took our order.
The view and food were fantastic. Seating was prompt even though we were early for our reservation, food was delicious though service was spotty at best and our server seemed a little condescending because we were a young couple. Also found it strange there was no music playing even though speakers were clearly installed.
The sea bass platter is definitely not sea bass. The shrimp and crab combo has just a tiny portion of regular shrimps and crab legs, worth probably 10 bucks but sells for 54. Hands down a tourist restaurant, and not a good one. Waitor is rude too.
Lovely waterfront restaurant with nice views. Service friendly and helpful food was good and we had a nice evening. Lacked any wow that’s why only a 4
Great place, Great service, Great food. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Unique location with sweeping ocean views. Excellent food and service.
