Dinner was great! All of our food was delicious. We sure will be back!
Food was excellent my wife had the salmon and I had the seafood rezoto. I'm thinking whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. Excellent place.
The steaks at Franchesco's are always fantastic, and this latest visit was no exception. This, along with the wonderful atmosphere, makes this our go to restaurant for special occasions.
Usually have excellent food. One of us had a very fatty piece of prime rib. Same asked to have Brussels Sprouts instead of asparagus. Not only were they boring likely just boiled with salt and pepper, but was charged an extra $4 for something unappealing. Her salad did not have croutons as did the rest of the table. Service was excellent, but must have been confused about our orders.
Fantastic food amazing cocktails, and even better service! Request Lana she is the most amazing server the restaurant has!
We had an incredibly enjoyable dinner there last Saturday night. We were seated close to the three piece band and felt that the music perfectly complimented the evening. We tried the meatball appetizer which was delicious. The cod was my entree choice and I loved the richness of the mushroom risotto that accompanied it. And because we couldn't decide on a dessert, we each chose one and enjoyed sharing. All and all, a wonderful evening.
Went on a date with my girlfriend and we had a great time and the experience brought us closer together. we will come back some time in the future.
OMG! I hate to use such language but the dinner was PHENOMINAL along with the service, the atmosphere and the experience overall. I felt like I took my fiancé to another country for the time I was there! Literally THEE BEST EXPERIENCE DINING OUT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE :) !
I was expecting great food but honestly i was very disappointed and not impressed at all. The food was not that great lacked a lot of flavor. For what we paid i was expecting a lot more. The service and atmosphere was great that is why i gave it 2 stars. But food and price is a 0.
From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted and taken care of. My wife and I arrived about 49 minutes early and the hostess was still able to seat us. Our server was outstanding - always there to help and move things along, but never in the way. The food was timed perfectly - we received our entrees right as the appetizer was removed from the table. I would highly recommend the mozzarella - extraordinary. The almond cake is probably the best dessert in the area. As we left the restaurant, we were stopped by multiple staff saying “thanks for coming,” or “have a nice night.” That kind of service is way above average and we will be back!
We both enjoyed our dinner right from the start. The Saracco Moscato was so enjoyable, fruity and sweet, just what I wanted. The bread with Parmesan and garlic that you dip in their Italian garlic oil was so yummy I wanted more, but had to leave room for the main course. The Valentine’s Dinner for Two with Lobster tails, a 12 oz Filet, Asparagus, Carrots, and mashed potatoes was excellent! (I kept the Parmesan Garlic dipping oil to put onto the lobster and all I can say is YUM!) Then to top it off; a Heart shaped Strawberry Cheesecake was served.
We will definitely return...with friends, so they can enjoy also.
My wife and I went for dinner the atmosphere was great our server was very polite. The service was very slow and the food was just ok. I would probably not go back again unless it was for the front bar which was nice.
Simply amazing. I loved everything about this place.
Went for valentines dinner. Great food and drinks! The room was beautiful!
Best steak I’ve ever eaten. The valentines decore was expertly and beautifully done. It was modern and sexy.
Great Valentines and our server Courtney was fantastic!
We have been here several times, and every time it amazes me. They are so friendly and make you feel that you are important, like you deserve the best. Our food has always been delicious. We enjoy the beautiful decor and the wonderful music. We would highly recommend Franchesco’s to anyone.
Not a great night for service. My soup came without a spoon. It took over five minutes to get someone to bring me one. At the end of the meal, the check was returned without my credit card. It took about 8-10 minutes to get it back.
Can’t say enough positive things about this place. Local. Authentic. Yummy. Romantic.
This is the good life!
Fine dining restaurant in Rockford IL that does not disappoint. I felt the calamari could have been a bit more crisp instead of chewy and the service could have been a bit on top of their game.
We had an amazing meal. And a great time. We will for sure go back again.
Great meal and great service. One of the best places in Rockford to eat.
We had our annual Valentine's Day dinner on Saturday night. The food was absolutely delicious. Our server Lara was very friendly and attentive. She made you feel at ease and never rushed your meal. It was a lovely evening.
Food and service was incredible. Enjoyed the evening very much overall. My wife and I were at a two person table and felt a bit cramped next to another couple. We were also three feet from a piano playing making it difficult at times to relax but by no means did it ruin anything. Excellent and possibly best food I have ever had. Worth the money for a once-in-a-while treat.
We were a party of four, for my wife’s birthday. The crowd was light and the pianist had not started yet. Wine selection was very good. Javier was very attentive to our needs. The food was served promptly and everone was very pleased with all aspects, temperature, quality and taste. Definitely on our return to and recommend list.
Great food and atmosphere. It is pricey and the portions have gotten smaller of late. They can cater to Gluten-free preparation that my wife needs, and the flourless chocolate cake is sinfully delicious. The waiter that we had, and also had last month when we were there, was only adequate. However, every other time we have had wait staff that were knowledgeable and engaging.
Lovely evening, and delicious food!
We came just before 7pm to have dinner before meeting friends there for comedy night, which was very good. We got seated right away for dinner and got water and bread, then waited 20 minutes for a server and we finally grabbed one of the bussers to find us a server. So that sort of set the mood for the night. The Mushroom Risotto was excellent. I also loved the Kim's Cod which was cooked perfect. I do not know if our server was double seated or just forgot about us, but he was also more of just an order taker instead of a salesman. We had no suggestions or asked if we wanted any drinks, we had to tell him we wanted cocktails and never asked us if we wanted refills. We also had to ask for a desert menu. There was just the two of us and everyone at the place from the hostess, busser and server asked us if it was just the 2. just not very good front of the house manors.
Great ambiance. The staff was polite and helpful. There was live music that wasn't overpowering, but was just right for the occasion. I went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. And compared to other date spots, this place was relatively affordable. Solid Wine menu, and food choices.
However, I was disappointed when my food arrived. It felt thrown together. I order a Bolognese Pasta and added Italian Sausage. The plate was sloppily overflowing with food. The sauce had little flavor. And the Sausage was just tossed on the side of the plate, still whole. It was a struggle attempting to cut the sausage into bite sized pieces without spilling the pasta all over myself.
Will probably try it again, but I am not excited to go back.
Not sure it should be just under 5 stars but is definitely a solid 4. Food was good. Service was good. Nice place. Would again if in the area.
Excellent dining experience! Yes, it's pricey but everything works together to make it a memorable evening. Service is outstanding. Food is top notch. I had the best lobster bisque! Chicken Marsala was great though a little different than most I've had. If you are a risotto fan, this is your place. The banana foster was delicious and made at the table. Will definitely return and not just for a special occasion.
We always enjoy Franchescos. Food is good and service is as well. Piano music is always enjoyable.
Food and service wad wonderful. Love the piano in dining room. Unfortunately a band started half hour before piano was done and drowned out piano.
I was in town from Minneapolis and found this restaurant on Open Table. I'm really glad I did as it was a 10. The bread and oil before the meal was delicious. The appetizers were great, the chopped salad was excellent as was the lobster soup. Our meals were just as good as everything else. Prices were really reasonable. If you're a local and haven't been here you're missing out. If you're in from out of town I can't imagine there is a tastier place in town.
Enjoyed a great meal along with great service. There were 5 of us. One had salmon, one the filet, one a prime rib, one pasta and one shrimp. All were excellent
Great pasta. My wife loved her shrimp.
New Year’s Eve!!!
Celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. All staff were congenial and treated us kindly with an always there smile. The food and crafted drinks were excellent! We will return.
Greatly disappointed last evening with my order of Sea Bass. As a loyal diner, I was not aware that the meal had changed. Forbidden rice. Gone. Change to white rice. Portion of bass was embarrassing. Truly. Smaller by almost half. Flavor of meal dramatically changed and weakened. Too bad. Was a favorite.
Good and service was top notch. Had a party of 9, was seated quickly with drinks within minutes. Food was of great quality and all guest where served within minutes of each other.
