Franchesco's Ratings and Reviews
We both enjoyed our dinner right from the start. The Saracco Moscato was so enjoyable, fruity and sweet, just what I wanted. The bread with Parmesan and garlic that you dip in their Italian garlic oil was so yummy I wanted more, but had to leave room for the main course. The Valentine’s Dinner for Two with Lobster tails, a 12 oz Filet, Asparagus, Carrots, and mashed potatoes was excellent! (I kept the Parmesan Garlic dipping oil to put onto the lobster and all I can say is YUM!) Then to top it off; a Heart shaped Strawberry Cheesecake was served.
We will definitely return...with friends, so they can enjoy also.
We have been here several times, and every time it amazes me. They are so friendly and make you feel that you are important, like you deserve the best. Our food has always been delicious. We enjoy the beautiful decor and the wonderful music. We would highly recommend Franchesco’s to anyone.
Food and service was incredible. Enjoyed the evening very much overall. My wife and I were at a two person table and felt a bit cramped next to another couple. We were also three feet from a piano playing making it difficult at times to relax but by no means did it ruin anything. Excellent and possibly best food I have ever had. Worth the money for a once-in-a-while treat.
We were a party of four, for my wife’s birthday. The crowd was light and the pianist had not started yet. Wine selection was very good. Javier was very attentive to our needs. The food was served promptly and everone was very pleased with all aspects, temperature, quality and taste. Definitely on our return to and recommend list.
Great food and atmosphere. It is pricey and the portions have gotten smaller of late. They can cater to Gluten-free preparation that my wife needs, and the flourless chocolate cake is sinfully delicious. The waiter that we had, and also had last month when we were there, was only adequate. However, every other time we have had wait staff that were knowledgeable and engaging.
We came just before 7pm to have dinner before meeting friends there for comedy night, which was very good. We got seated right away for dinner and got water and bread, then waited 20 minutes for a server and we finally grabbed one of the bussers to find us a server. So that sort of set the mood for the night. The Mushroom Risotto was excellent. I also loved the Kim's Cod which was cooked perfect. I do not know if our server was double seated or just forgot about us, but he was also more of just an order taker instead of a salesman. We had no suggestions or asked if we wanted any drinks, we had to tell him we wanted cocktails and never asked us if we wanted refills. We also had to ask for a desert menu. There was just the two of us and everyone at the place from the hostess, busser and server asked us if it was just the 2. just not very good front of the house manors.
Great ambiance. The staff was polite and helpful. There was live music that wasn't overpowering, but was just right for the occasion. I went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. And compared to other date spots, this place was relatively affordable. Solid Wine menu, and food choices.
However, I was disappointed when my food arrived. It felt thrown together. I order a Bolognese Pasta and added Italian Sausage. The plate was sloppily overflowing with food. The sauce had little flavor. And the Sausage was just tossed on the side of the plate, still whole. It was a struggle attempting to cut the sausage into bite sized pieces without spilling the pasta all over myself.
Will probably try it again, but I am not excited to go back.
Excellent dining experience! Yes, it's pricey but everything works together to make it a memorable evening. Service is outstanding. Food is top notch. I had the best lobster bisque! Chicken Marsala was great though a little different than most I've had. If you are a risotto fan, this is your place. The banana foster was delicious and made at the table. Will definitely return and not just for a special occasion.
I was in town from Minneapolis and found this restaurant on Open Table. I'm really glad I did as it was a 10. The bread and oil before the meal was delicious. The appetizers were great, the chopped salad was excellent as was the lobster soup. Our meals were just as good as everything else. Prices were really reasonable. If you're a local and haven't been here you're missing out. If you're in from out of town I can't imagine there is a tastier place in town.
Greatly disappointed last evening with my order of Sea Bass. As a loyal diner, I was not aware that the meal had changed. Forbidden rice. Gone. Change to white rice. Portion of bass was embarrassing. Truly. Smaller by almost half. Flavor of meal dramatically changed and weakened. Too bad. Was a favorite.
Food was good, but poor waitress had too many tables. There was a mistake on our bill, but we worked it out between couples. Friend ordered bowl soup, but received cup of soup and had to send back. Husband ordered shrimp de jonghe which was supposed to come with linguini, but didn't. He didn't bother to have that brought out since waitress was too busy.
The ambiance is very elegant and the food is always excellent. Our server was very attentive without making us feel crowded. They had a wonderful piano and bass players that played very nice background music. lighting and decor are very nice and I recommend this for upscale but reasonably priced dining, if ever you are in Rockford for a nice evening out.
Overall we were pleased. The service and atmosphere were excellent! However, some issues with the meal brought the value down. The bruschetta bread was too crispy, the ribeye was under cooked and too much gristle for the cut of meat. The mashed potatoes were very dry, I'm not a chef, but maybe try some butter or cream before serving. The prime rib was delicious, and the tomatoes and veggies we're perfectly ripened and tasty. We are locals, Polar Grove, and are not wealthy, but don't mind paying up for a great experience. Any issues aside, we had a wonderful date night and have made reservations to come back again. Thank you for your time. Brad
Celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday. This was our first time here, and we will definitely be back. Our server Devan was excellent, and she cooked up a mean “flaming bananas foster” right at our table, which was delicious. The food was very good and the decor was tastefully elegant. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasions!
