The food was good but overpriced for the amount you receive compared to other Italian restaurants. We had reservations at 5:00 p.m. and had to wait about 10 minutes to order a drink to only be told that the bartender was not there yet. It took another 10 minutes to get a drink.
The service was fair - nothing to write home about.
great service. delicious food. delicious drinks. can't go wrong with this spot.
Staff was very welcoming when they greeted us and acknowledged the person we were celebrating the birthday for. Wait staff was attentive and accommodated special requests. Food was delicious and we felt like we could relax and not be rushed before our 8pm showing of Hamilton.
Our waiter was extremely patient and understanding about special food needs. Some of our party arrived late and we did not feel like we were rushed through our meal.
Good food. Our server was pleasant, but new and a bit unseasoned. Made a few mistakes. Nothing major.
Great quality Italian food with fresh salads, great pasta choices and overall cordial atmosphere. Seafood linguine is my favorite. Recommend for both casual and business occasions.
We always have a great experience when Amy is our waitress!!
The Italian food is consistently good with several unique dishes as well as the the main menu of pasta, meat, and seafood dishes. There are several Italian Restaurants on Taylor Street and Francesca's is as good as any we have visited. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable with plenty of activity but still able to talk at your table. I love the lentil salad and calamari grilled or fried is excellent. Various pasta dishes which should be tried, they are excellent. The wine selection (both house and brand) are reasonably priced by bottle or glass. We recommend Francesca's for very good authentic Italian Food and an enjoyable experience.
The food is always good and it’s a nice lively place without being too loud. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Food was average (although pizza was very good) but the service was horrible. We needed to ask for everything, we were made to feel like we were bothering them and very little came out correct. I will not eat here again.
The food was excellent and very flavorful, service could have been better as we waited 10 minutes after being seated for a server. The wine is way overpriced!
I've never dined at the Mia Francesca's on Taylor, always at the original location on
Clark St., which reminds me of living in NYC. One always wonders if the chef at a different location will be as good as your usual fab haunt. Pleasant surprise, with a lovely open and bright casual interior, very attentive helpful staff, on top of their game. But best, was luscious, delicious, f r e s h l y prepared dishes. Fab branzino on polenta, knockout roasted 1/2 chicken with potatoes in a sauce-- you can't stop licking your fingers and rolling your eyes, memorable eggplant in spicy red sauce rigatoni, what a tough decision when selecting what entree with what pasta! So full we didn't have room for the great pistachio gelato, but now I have a great reason to return. Nice selection of wine by the glass, and Manager brought us glasses of limoncello. Delightful meal.
Food was great! Drinks were great! Very comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend! My friend are a pretty hard crowd to please everyone of them afterwards gave Francesca’s a thumbs up and would definitely return.
Francesca's on Taylor is a really nice, consistently delicious, Italian restaurant. The staff are really kind. And, if at times a little overwhelmed, the service is solid, which means that the place gets busy. I was also pleased to find out that they have a Jazz trio playing at dinner after 5 PM. It's not too loud -- just right.
The food was very tasty. The arga salad was nicely dressed and very flavorful. The cheese ravioli were delicious with a nicelight marinana. The sea bas was very nicely prepared as well as the sauted vegetables. The wine was nicely priced. Service was a little uneven.
Lovely evening overall. Accommodated
The restaurant was busy for Valentine's Day. Service was a little slow at times, likely due to the large number of patrons and not enough staff on hand. When the bread was served to the table there was no olive oil. It took a while to get someone's attention and when the bus boy brought over a bottle it was almost empty. Had to ask server for a new bottle that never came. After asking another server a third time, the olive oil finally arrived. But it was annoying to wait 25 minutes for this to be finally delivered. Took a while to order (almost 20 minutes) since server had her hands full with other tables. After taking drink orders, someone else delivered a miniature cocktail and glass of wine, but the wine pour was not what was ordered. Fortunately the server corrected it, but we were starting to get annoyed. Although we waited some time, fortunately the bruschetta appetizer and main courses were delicious. When we ordered a second cocktail it came in a significantly larger glass. We wondered if that was to make up for the issues we were experiencing already. We arrived at 7:15pm and did not depart until close to 9:40pm when a large party was just starting to be seated and they were overtaking the room that we were in. We were one of three remaining patron tables still finishing our meals, but were feeling like we were being pushed out. The server asked at one point if we wanted to move to another table, but by then we were just waiting for the check to pay so we declined. Overall, experience was so so. We have had better experience there on past Valentine's Day dinners. Just chalk it up to being short staffed that night I guess.
Great every time!
Food was great and we were really happy to get Amy for our waitress!😄
Good food small portions. Ok meal for the price. Would probably not go back. Better options
Wonderful menu and food!!! Staff was fabulous and welcoming
Food was excellent. Very flavorful. Our ice crea m dessert was delicious. Recommended for date night as well as family time
Disappointed with food; “chain restaurant food;” also menu was limited for an Italian restaurant.
It has a great selection of wine and food. Service was wonderful.
Just another uninspired American chain that thinks that overpriced quantity makes up for over-seasoned and badly prepared meals.
Our server was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Received our drinks and food in a very timely manner. The food was prepared superbly . Great tasting food and deliver to the table very warm. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I dine at this restaurant once or twice a year and this visit did not live up to expectations. The service was very slow even though they were not very busy. The small pizza that I had greatly enjoyed on a previous visit came out luke-warm after a too-long wait instead of being served hot right out of the oven. They did accommodate my guest, who's a simple spaghetti and meatballs guy, with a special off-the-menu order. I splurged on an expensive Tuscan red which proved to be only pretty good but not exceptional. The server was only minimally attentive, but gave good advice when asked. The special lemon sorbetto / biscotti dessert she recommended quite enthusiastically was the highlight of the meal for me. In all though, just an OK experience this time and not quite worth the charge.
loved our meal and Amy was fantastic! Best mussels we ever had!
So glad Amy was there to wait on us!! She’s just the best!
Having lived in this neighborhood for many years, Francesca's has always been a "go to" place for consistently excellent food and atmosphere.
We were seated in a bad spot and the restaurant wasn’t full. The waitress was rushed and the service was borderline bad. The servers were better than the waitress and didn’t show preference between tables. The food was mediocre. We’ve been coming to Francesca’s for several years now but this recent experience, including the food, no longer hold the same value.
This is one of my favorite restaurants but something was lacking on New Year’s Eve. The service was slow, food quantity was poor, lack of attention and I spent $350.00. It was not worth it on this particular evening. Definitely will go else where next year. I do still love this place for everyday but not necessarily special occasions or holidays.
It’s an old fashioned restaurant with slow service and inattentive servers. The food was blend. Not a great experience.
The service was great and the food was great as well!
We love this place. Never have we had a bad meal.
Had our wedding in the back 12 years ago & that was awesome.
Fabulous as expected. Thank you!
Went for our anniversary dinner and were sat by the bar and the waiter was pushy on drinks and appetizers. Seemed to give up on our table after we turned down wine and appetizers. Didn’t take our order for 20 minutes after that. Good food and decent price, but definitely have had better.
Enjoyed a lengthy quiet conversation with my date. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Enjoyed the pasta dishes (spinach ravioli and sausage manicotti). Tasty wine and decent selection, though somewhat pricy.
We were glad to have Amy as our waitress! She’s the best and she really knows what we like!
We came in from out of town and were given Francesca’s as an option for great Italian dining. The food was excellent! Our server was friendly and the atmosphere was great. It was a cozy restaurant but I believe I saw an area for larger groups as well!
