Wonderful, classic Italian with great service.
It was very easy to make a reservation for 15 people and we were even seated before all of us had arrived, contrary to what is common at most other restaurants. Ordering was also easy, and the checks all came out separate with the gratuity added, which made it all very mindless. Would come back with a large group for an event again.
I always enjoy dinners at Francesca's.
Our first time there and we will go back.
I asked for a favorite of mine that was not on the menu, and they came through - it was the best gnocchi I ever had (light and just the right size)! My 10 yr old had chicken and it had a charcoal flavor that was delicious - he thought it was steak;) The bruchetta appetizer was the b-e-s-t mainly because of the mozzerella (light and smooth).
We will definitely go back!
Great food. Great service. Great restaurant. Charming neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Nice place for a meal on Taylor Street. Nice staff. Food got a fair rating because the sautéed spinach was previously frozen or old; should have sent it back to the kitchen, mine and my guests.
A little challenging to have a conversation. Food was good, not spectacular. I had the pumpkin ravioli which was good. Caesar was very good and the deserts were wonderful. I really like Francesca's especially the one in Barrington.
Great food, not a huge menu but every item on it is exceptional!
What a pleasant surprise. Felt "cozier" than many of their other restaurants we've frequented--and far less noisy. Enjoyed both the creative appetizers new to us--and the much-better-than-average executions of old stand-bys. Most of the table had the veal medallion special and raved about it. The pumpkin ravioli was terrific--perfectly cooked and didn't fall into the 'way too sweet' for a main dish category. Very interesting and reasonably priced wine list. Service was friendly--and prompt. Servers worked as a team--didn't mind helping each other out--how extraordinary! Looking forward to a return visit soon.
We had two children with us and the staff was kind and accommodating.
bottle of wine good
pumpkin pasta was tough (cut around most of the "won ton" pasta)
bread could have been better
seafood pasta just ok
The Gnochii was as good as I have ever had!
This is a great Italian restaurant with huge portions and great service.
Never a disappointment at Francesca's on Taylor. Friendly hostess, great service along with excellent food, you just can't go wrong here.
Always very good - can't go wrong
Our group of 5 had a wonderful time; enjoyed the food; and the service was very good. We arrived at 8:15pm and it was noisy but as people left it grew quieter.
Always great foos and not as crowded as the Lakeview location.
I love this place!
But if you want a Good ambiance, music, etc. This is not the place. This is the place you go for excellent food!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is always amazing and the servers have always been friendly and attentive. I have always had such a great dining experience here and no one I have ever brought here has ever been disappointed, rather impressed! I would come here every week if I could. This time like always it was Delicious!
This was my third visit but very disappointed. We dined Saturday night, October 8. They tried to sit the four of us in a cramped corner right by the kitchen door in the middle of the aisle. We asked for another table and were moved to another tiny corner by the server order station. Menu was so limited two of my party had to request a special chicken picata. There was not even a steak featured. A Chicago marathon menu? Sorry, we were not running the next day. After reading "Let Them Eat Carpaccio" in September's Chicago Magazine, I was expecting so much more. Definitely trying something different next time I go to Little Italy.
Food was excellent. Everything from the entrees to the bread and oil. It was busy, but they handled the crowds well. Our waitress hustled and my water was constantly refilled, which is always a nice touch. I'm from out of town, but I'd return if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.
Went to Francesca's to carb load before the Chicago marathon. It was the perfect place. Incredible food. Big portions. Reasonable prices. Thanks for a wonderful meal!
Have been here several times before simply for ease of reservation. Also a sentimental favorite since it's in a neighborhood in which I used to live. There's really no other reason to go here, however. Better Italian can easily be found throughout the city, and the service this particular visit was terrible.
Probably the best of the Francesca's. Some of the very best true Italian food on Taylor Street. The spaghetti fruit de mer was excellent, as well as the carpaccio appetizer & the authentic pizza with prosciutto, olives, artichoke & egg- delicioso! Excellent service as well.
Always delicious. My absolute favorite place to go to lunch. The hostess even recognizes us now and the dining experience is that much warmer. Thanks!
We felt very rushed through our whole dinner. Had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time.
Francesca's on Taylor hasn't changed a bit since we used to eat there 10 years ago, even though it has now expanded into a giant Chicago chain. We were a little aprehensive but the carpaccio was perfect, the burrata salad out of this world, the pizza great too.
Tried Francesca's because I had a gift card, and was very happy to find a restaurant near work. Everything about our visit was fantastic, from the valet parking through dessert. The service was prompt, friendly and not rushed. The food was excellent and varied. The noise level was so low we could easily converse at our table and not overhear other conversations. The reservation process was easy and convenient to use, and I loved having the menu on line so I could plan ahead. Thanks for a great experience, and we will definately come again.
I loved the room. It has a classy and comfortable feel. The service was a little too "energetic." It was almost overbearing. We had six people and everyone had something different but all of the dishes plus the salads and appetizers were mediocre.
I'm never disappointed at Mia Francesca's. Food is consistently delicious!
As always, Francesca's delivers solid and reliable quality. The pastas here are particularly good, as is the wine selection.
Recommended to make reservations through Open Table over weekends - this restaurant is very popular and there's a good reason why!
Food was execellant - very busy - people were great host and waiter -
Consistently excellent. One of the few restaurants that actually seats customers at the reservation time.
Business dinner with colleagues from overseas. Service and food were excellent although portions were quite large. Decent wine list. Best of all the noise level was low with soft music playing in the background which was important as we needed to have a good meal with good discussion. Would definitely return.
We always enjoy Francescas - great food, friendly and competent service. Thanks!
The food was great. Service was fantastic. Our server was there every step of the way and providing the best service possible.
God I love this place. The pasta is homemade and so fresh. I come here for lunch often. They know my name, recognize me and try to put us at the tables we prefer. I wish it was closer to my office. Although I'd probably be 100 lbs heavier. Go to Francesca's on Taylor. You wont regret it for one second.
Always reliable. Great food, great portions and well worth what are reasonably low prices for good food. HOWEVER, a little miffed I booked a 7:30pm reservation, arrived at 7:15pm and was told to come back. No big deal, but when I came back walk-ins were seated with no wait. I had to wait. ALSO, waitress was MIA towards the end of the meal, so had to wait for the bill AND as a gift card user had wait even more just to tip the girl. BUT WORST, however excusable as a semi regular relying on a good meal, I was upcharged $7 for a split meal that was not split. The carpaccio is so good, my wife takes it as an entrée. I ordered the most expensive entrée, but was charged as if it was split. Bogus. Not worth dealing with the MIA waitress for $7.
We had a wonderful dining experience, as usual.
