Francesca's on Taylor Ratings and Reviews
The food was very tasty. The arga salad was nicely dressed and very flavorful. The cheese ravioli were delicious with a nicelight marinana. The sea bas was very nicely prepared as well as the sauted vegetables. The wine was nicely priced. Service was a little uneven.
The restaurant was busy for Valentine's Day. Service was a little slow at times, likely due to the large number of patrons and not enough staff on hand. When the bread was served to the table there was no olive oil. It took a while to get someone's attention and when the bus boy brought over a bottle it was almost empty. Had to ask server for a new bottle that never came. After asking another server a third time, the olive oil finally arrived. But it was annoying to wait 25 minutes for this to be finally delivered. Took a while to order (almost 20 minutes) since server had her hands full with other tables. After taking drink orders, someone else delivered a miniature cocktail and glass of wine, but the wine pour was not what was ordered. Fortunately the server corrected it, but we were starting to get annoyed. Although we waited some time, fortunately the bruschetta appetizer and main courses were delicious. When we ordered a second cocktail it came in a significantly larger glass. We wondered if that was to make up for the issues we were experiencing already. We arrived at 7:15pm and did not depart until close to 9:40pm when a large party was just starting to be seated and they were overtaking the room that we were in. We were one of three remaining patron tables still finishing our meals, but were feeling like we were being pushed out. The server asked at one point if we wanted to move to another table, but by then we were just waiting for the check to pay so we declined. Overall, experience was so so. We have had better experience there on past Valentine's Day dinners. Just chalk it up to being short staffed that night I guess.
I dine at this restaurant once or twice a year and this visit did not live up to expectations. The service was very slow even though they were not very busy. The small pizza that I had greatly enjoyed on a previous visit came out luke-warm after a too-long wait instead of being served hot right out of the oven. They did accommodate my guest, who's a simple spaghetti and meatballs guy, with a special off-the-menu order. I splurged on an expensive Tuscan red which proved to be only pretty good but not exceptional. The server was only minimally attentive, but gave good advice when asked. The special lemon sorbetto / biscotti dessert she recommended quite enthusiastically was the highlight of the meal for me. In all though, just an OK experience this time and not quite worth the charge.
We were seated in a bad spot and the restaurant wasn’t full. The waitress was rushed and the service was borderline bad. The servers were better than the waitress and didn’t show preference between tables. The food was mediocre. We’ve been coming to Francesca’s for several years now but this recent experience, including the food, no longer hold the same value.
This is one of my favorite restaurants but something was lacking on New Year’s Eve. The service was slow, food quantity was poor, lack of attention and I spent $350.00. It was not worth it on this particular evening. Definitely will go else where next year. I do still love this place for everyday but not necessarily special occasions or holidays.
Went for our anniversary dinner and were sat by the bar and the waiter was pushy on drinks and appetizers. Seemed to give up on our table after we turned down wine and appetizers. Didn’t take our order for 20 minutes after that. Good food and decent price, but definitely have had better.
The service was not up to par. Our waitress had no clue what she was doing. She was very slow. Didn’t know the menu. The food was luke warm and the menu was too small and full of dishes that had too many ingredients. Simplicity is best with Italian food. I usually like Francesca’s, but this was a very disappointing evening.
I was at Francesca's 2 days in a row this week once for Happy Hour with a group and once for dinner with a friend. The menu is varied enough that I had plenty to choose from. I wouldn't really call it casual but it is definitely a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant was not only lovely but the food delicious and our waitress was simply fabulous--engaging, funny, but not intrusive! We were there early because I had a flight to catch, but I found the sound level to be very comfortable. And if you had a TV installed anywhere, it didn't appear in my peripheral vision, so kudos to you for expecting your clientele to be engaged with their dining experience! Parking was easy with an affordable valet, but street parking was accessible as well.
