Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Food is very good and not too expensive. Family friendly. Good place!
Food was great. Always enjoy my meal.
Francesca's food is always fresh and well prepared. We dined here on a weekday evening and it was very busy. Our server was great. The portions are ample and prices are a good value for the quality. It's a place love to come back to again and again because it's so consistently good.
It's been a while since we've eaten here. The food was very good. We split the tomato and mozzarella appetizer. We put a little more balsamic on it because it had too much oil. My friend had the seabass and I had the cod. The entrees were large and very tasty. For dessert we split the profiteroles which were really good. We will definitely come back to eat at Francesca's North more often.
We are never disappointed with Francesca's in Northbrook. It's a neighborhood gem.
Not impressed with the food other than the profiterols filled with pistachio ice cream. I ordered a pizza with wild mushrooms and I received something that probably came out of a Red Baron packaging. Regular mushrooms, likely microwaved and seriously undercooked. My husband's arugula salad was probably something they dumped out of a bag onto a plate, threw a few morsels of diced tomato and a squirt of vinaigrette. And my cocktail had not seen smashed peaches by a wide margin. Disappointing.
We met friends for an early dinner on a Friday night. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately, but it went downhill from there.
Our server seemed rushed or was just not having a good night. When our food was brought to the table by a runner, we explained that he chicken dish they served two of us was not what we ordered, and sent it back. Our server finally came over to the table and questioned what we ordered and walked away. Being the 1/2 roasted chicken dinner, knew it would take awhile, so we told our friends to go ahead and start eating ... fifteen minutes later our food arrived, and someone else came to ask how “everything was”, no apology from him (not sure what his position was), or our server, Carlos, who came after we were done eating to ask if we wanted anything else. We told him that the least they could do was send us a dessert, at which point he looked annoyed and stated “I’ll have to ask my manager”. They did comp us two very good desserts that we all split.
Management needs to step up their game, and act like they care. Just because it’s a venerable name, and busy location does not give them an edge to ignore the quality of service.
Our waiter took 15 minutes to greet us and take drink orders. We had to flag him down 15 minutes later to give our dinner order. He didn't get one order correct - the Pollo Arrosto Romano- so one dinner came out long before the other one. The manager came by and we explained the poor service and the missing Pollo Arrosto. 5 minutes a flash fried chicken came out in lieu of the Romano - completely confused, we settled on the dry, clearly fried chicken. In their efforts to bring out the dish, they opted to fry it instead of roasting it. Dry and tasteless. Waiter seemed distracted and had too many tables to provide any type of service. Manager took care of the chicken but seemed uninterested in our miserable experience. The young single women at the bar kept him busy, however...
We go to Francesca's a ton. It's minutes from my house. This was an awful meal.
Always a great meal and dining experience at Francesca's North. Server Eric went above and beyond to take care of my family. We certainly intend to return again and again. My favorite north suburban Italian restaurant.
Good food, good service, a local gem. A long time local favorite, in Northbrook.
Great meal, great service, noisy even in the back
Our dinner was fabulous, great wine list, great server
Always consistent. Good food and service was friendly. Would like to see more fish dishes
Nice spacing between the tables and low noise level. Increasing difficult to find these features in a restaurant. Food was good, service excellent. Surprisingly hard to find restaurants in northern suburbs that aren’t noisy that has good food.
Food and service very nice but the wine is overpriced
Great food and service
Never a bad meal; the best seafood and always something different but always good. Was so good I had lunch today at their other location in Barrington; need I say, excellent.
Very nice dining experience as usual.
Very poor disorganized slow service. Took 3 requests and 15 min to get a beer then brought wrong kind. Dirty martini horrible. House Pinot Grigio horrible. Veal way over cooked. Carpaccio tasteless. Margarita pizza very good. You should send your team to Lake Forest Franciscos to get a lesson on service and food quality....
We love Francesca's. The food is always good, and there are often new choices. The service was fine.
We have been before but the evening was below adequate. The kitchen was very slow (over a half hour) in getting out our appetizers And the lentils, which we have ordered in the past and always good, we fair at best and the portion was very small. We usually have plenty to share with a large group. Also the special beet salad tasted like they came from a can.
Our waitress apologized for the delay but did nothing to show any remorse from management. Perhaps a complimentary dessert or free drinks were in order.
Our main courses can out more quickly but were not very good. The Branzino special did not taste fresh and the rigatoni with eggplant had barely any eggplant. The gnocchi special was better.
We allotted ourselves one and a half hour for dinner (there were 7 of us) as we had to be somewhere. We came in at 6:00 on a Sunday evening and had to rush to finish dinner and get out.
We tallied up a large bill with a bottle of wine and it did not go unnoticed that we felt unappreciated.
They put us in the back. They were slow with service - 2.5 hours there for dinner. They charged us full price for two alcoholic drinks in which we asked for the alcohol to be taken out (kiddie cocktails at this point). I live in Northbrook and plan to never go back again. They forgot my mother's coffee.
Great restaurant and wonderful food. We all loved our meal. Can’t wait to go back again.
Always a great meal with great service to match.
Nothing was recognized for our anniversary. I put down on the reservation that we were celebrating. Nobody asked or said anything . Disappointing for our 10 year anniversary dinner.
Nice menu options and all of food was good - appetizer, salad, and entrees. Only criticism was the decor in the second dining room - very “banquet hall” in appearance! We’ll be back, but will ask for the main room.
Thank you to all for an exceptional evening. Everything was perfect from the table, service and special attention from management and most of all the delicious food! Kale Brussel sprout salad is a GREAT ADDITION to the menu.
Everyone was so friendly and nice. It was a pleasure to go there for dinner. The food was great too.
The skirt steak was terrible and salty. I should have sent it back. The waiter was great. Also the piece of meat was not even what I would call skirt steak. It was like flat and awful
Awesome as usual
Great food a little noisy
Been going to Francesca's for years, since the original one on Clark St in the early '90s - always a consistently good meal. However, this time we were left a bit disappointment. The fried calamari was a bit over cooked. The Insalata alla Francesca was really nothing special. However, the salmon and tilapia were both delicious. Our server was very friendly and professional. Of course, we will probably return and do hope this was just a one-off.
Francesca’s was busy and after waiting for awhile our server came and we put our whole order in with him. My husband knew we would be waiting. We started with Fried Calamari which was hot and delicious. I had ravioli with large chunks of mozzarella and a delicious sauce. My husband had large shrimp with asparagus, mushrooms with a beautiful red sauce. He ate all of it. Then we waited and waited and I finally caught his eye for the check. He came over and asked us if we wanted to see the dessert menu, but I wanted to leave. My husband was polite and said no thank you, just the check. Again, we waited. He asked me for some cash and we left. Francesca’s has great food, but very slow service. I will say this, my husband doesn’t care. He likes to enjoy the evening with me and the energy of the restaurant.
Loved throwback entrees..salmon with lentils wonderful
Calamarri very good and fresh
Francesca salad disappointing. Usually my favorite. Always get it
Had it split and each of us only had one piece of endive and the rest was mushy romaine mix..just ok this time
Nice evening not to noisy at a corner window table except foe music with heavy base. Try some nice dinner music instead
All was great
Great. Waiter was terrific and very helpful as was kitchen
Great meal and friendly staff. Truly enjoyed our evening.
Great, as always
Wonderful and delicious!
