Jamie was our server and she did an excellent job. We love going to eat at Francesca’s.
Good food. Did not appreciate staff cleaning (sweeping and mopping floors) around our table (in preparation for closing) at 8.30 pm. Service could be better.
While we enjoy many other Francesca groups restaurants this one is certainly on the lower spectrum of our list of favorites the food here while good is not as well prepared as Francesca’s intimo. Service is not attentive. Literally didn’t ask how our meals were -four people or ask if we wanted another drink, so we each only had one. Before we finished our meals the dessert menus were thrown at our table -really were you trying to turn over the table at 9 o’clock at night in Northbrook for the next party anxiously awaiting to be seated? Idoubt it
Another fantastic meal at Francesca's North. Excellent pasta special; whitefish with mushrooms excellent as always. Carpaccio is one of our favorites.
Excellent food and great value!
Wait staff very attentive!
I ordered the same thing I always do and it actually had no taste. A friend who also ordered the chicken dish felt the exact same way. Was very disappointed that Francesca’s wasn’t up to the same standard that I remember.
Service was in general good , food was very good specially the pasta, spacing was not good, room very noisy ,people in next table were very loud.
Over all good experience, will go back for the food.
great italian food at great prices.close to home .we love it so much.
Tables were being moved around us while we dined which made for a disruptive experience. Service was Ok but the server seemed distracted.
We were seated immediately. The service and food was very good. The veal and bolognese was particularly good.
The food was really good. The service was poor, very slow. I will return there for dinner.
This place used to be one of our go-to's for Italian, but it just hasn't been as good as it used to be for the last few years. Now we go maybe once year, still hoping for it to return to its former self. Everything used to taste so fresh. No longer feels like it's put together with care by a "chef". I wonder if they changed who heads the kitchen?
Great service and great food! Nice atmosphere! Lovely place to dine!
Good neighborhood restaurant, efficient service, food well prepared, fresh hot and tasty. Good atmosphere and bar area, open kitchen. Overall very good weekday evening meal!
Food mediocre and service not good. 2 of 3 orders not fully correct. Pasta dish too salty.
The last few times we went here we did not have good experiences. We decided to give them one more chance.
The service was horrible! It took forever for everything from drinks to appetizers to dinner. We ordered appetizers but they brought the main courses first. When we pointed out the error they took the main courses back to the kitchen and must have put them under heat lamps. The appetizers came and they again brought the main course before we could enjoy the appetizers. The MGMT team stepped in and tried to save the night but they dropped the ball again. The main courses now took forever to arrive and then were cold. The night was awful and none of us will return.
our server was very helpful especially since my friend needed assistance with a walker she uses and deciding what to order. Our food was very good as was our yummy dessert.
The white fish was very dry- manger took it back and gave me credit.
It was typical Francesca !!!
Their menu is constantly changing so you can continue to go and enjoy new items.
We come here for the food, particularly their house salad and warm bread, which was just as consistently delicious and perfectly prepared as always. It was a very busy night so service was a little haphazard but they did their best to keep up. We enjoy their nice selection of wines and varying nightly specials.
Food was great server really took care of us!!!
Always consistently great
There's nothing wrong with this place. The wood, fabrics and low-but-not-too-low lighting set a nice mood and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was on the good side of "meh". The menu is not huge but there is a nice diversity of items so for a group or business lunch everybody will find something they like. Salads were pretty average. We were warned that the sizes were generous, but they were not. Eggplant was a little soggy. Sausage and Peppers was small and oversauced. Pizza was tasty but a bit bland. Tried the pistachio profiteroles for dessert. The pistachio gelato inside was the best thing we tasted all night but for 7.50 the portion was very small. Which brings me to the main issue I have here which is that dinner for two, without any wine, came to roughly $80 with tip. For average at best itallian food in a strip mall, that seemed excessive. I am happy to pay for a great meal, but this really was just OK. I have had some great meals at Francesca's other locations. Maybe a little cross-training is in order! Bon appetit
As always, a go to place for a good meal…good drinks...easy parking.
Brought out main course before we were finished w salad
Gave us small table but said we could change if done in hour
We did not want to b rushed so we stayed YET— an hour later tables we could have had were still not occupied!!!
Always delicious, quality food, executed well. Very flavorful meal. Enjoyed by both of us.
Francesca's North is our go-to spot, walkable from home, great food, and a fabulous bartender who over the years has become a personal friend.
This Tuesday was a Francesca's "original menu" night, on the anniversary of the chain's opening in the 1990s. Meals were priced now as they were back then. I had branzino for $16, whereas the usual menu posted on the front door listed it at $28. It was delicious.
Due to the night's discount pricing plus a private event, over 250 diners were expected. We were lucky to lock in a reservation early that morning for 4:45pm. Despite all the expected chaos, when we were arrived the manager and hostess treated us as though they had all the time in the world. As a wheelchair-bound woman in our party approached, the manager spotted her through the glass door and went out to help her inside. Once in, the hostess warmly accommodated our friend's limitations. Later this hostess somehow found time to check back in. She listened attentively as our friends mentioned it was an anniversary night for them too, and made some very thoughtful adjustments to our desserts. All in all we felt these people connected with us. It added considerably to what was already a memorable evening.
My dining companion’s Birthday. Excellent dinner for a special day.
FRANCESCA'S NORTH HAS A WONDERFUL LUNCH COMBO MENU AND TERRIFIC STAFF.
Great food in a friendly atmosphere! All four of us had very enjoyable meals that were very flavorful and creative.
It was a rainy afternoon, Francesca’s was warm and inviting,
Delicious Italian comfort food. We enjoyed our pasta dishes with Italian sausage
and salads. The profiteroles for dessert were wonderful
Got together with friends. The restaurant was large enough to accommodate us and not feel crammed. We enjoyed our time and our waitress was great!!!
Ambiance good, service, good, food is good. Been dining here for a long time/ Love this particular Francescas's.
Food was ok, nothing special in the world of Italian. Service was off the night we were there. Were seated at 6:50 and the waitress came by as well as a tray of salads for another table. That diverted our servers attention and she left. When she came back she took our wine order, but forgot to ask our daughter for a drink order. We give our food order at 7:15. We received our salads on a timely fashion, I had a ceaser, it was ok, nothing fantastic. We did not receive our entrees till 8:10. The tables next to us ordered after us and received their food before us. Food was average to above average Italian. Nothing made me go wow, the sauce in my pasta was runny. First time we have eaten here and we were very disappointed by the experience.
very good food and the customer service is outstanding
I have come here over the years for special occasions and I was somewhat disappointed this time. A couple of us ordered the pizzas and the crust was dry and they lacked crunch, and flavor. Would never order pizza here again.
My daughter had water spilled over half her menu when it was being poured and it wasn’t changed out. My mother in law was salting her pasta because it was under seasoned. The other pasta dishes were good and the service was very good. Didn’t have to wait, and they accommodated us running late by 15 min.
Always one of my favorite places. We’ve been here a million times and never had a bad experience. The food is always phenomenal and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend Francesca’s North!
Chicken was tasteless. Very disappointed because always was good previously.
Did let server know that it was not usual and. We were disappointed
He told us the manager would come and he didn’t bother.
Not sure will go back.
