Francesca’s. What a gem in Frankfort! The food was excellent and the specialty drinks are great! My favorite is the SalmonevAcqua Pazzs!
Arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation and were not seated until 30 minutes past our reserved time. So we waited the same amount of time that the walk ins did. Everything was great once we sat down and of course their world class martinis made the wait much better. Sea Bass was absolutely perfect, drinks are always fantastic, service was good despite being packed, and their desserts are always irresistable.
Loud. Crowded. Waiters and staff hustled and friendly but noise level at 6:30 on acSaturday night made conversation difficult.
Eaten at this place for 6+ years, about 2-3 times a year. Strongly considering not returning.
For many years, this restaurant was a place you could have a fine dining Italian meal with a date or family. It was fairly quiet and a good place for a romantic meal.
While it still serves good italian food, the influence of the bar area is ruining this restaurant's ambiance. For this visit, the restaurant was so loud that I couldn't hear my wife sitting across the table from me. Throughout the restaurant, you could hear techno music that was coming from the bar area. The restaurant was very full and there is no place for waiting parties to sit and wait for their table when it's cold out. As result, there were people, waiting for their dinner tables, were literally standing over me and my wife while we were in the seated dining area and trying to eat food.
All of these ambiance elements (very noisy restaurant, loud techno music, people waiting for tables around me) might be okay at an Irish Pub, a Buffalo Wild Wings, or a craft beer restaurant, but they are extremely offputting when I'm trying to have a quiet, romantic Italian dinner night out with my wife.
So all this to say, this restaurant needs to decide whether it wants to be a fine dining italian restaurant or a pub food restaurant. But right now, it has the ambiance of both which makes the eating experience awful for a date night.
Foodwise, this trip was not a good experience. My wife had to return her meal to the kitchen, twice. Once because it was inedible (salty). The second time because there was a pool of water in her pasta bowl for sauce. The server did work to take care of my wife's concerns and I appreciated that.
We’ve been to Francesca’s happily many times before, but unfortunately this was not a good experience. Perhaps the winter cold was driving more customers than usual into the restaurant, but the lack of attentive service, the abrupt removal of dishes even before we had finished, and an incorrect bill made this an unpleasant evening indeed. It may be quite awhile before we venture back, and then probably only for lunch.
Great food as always, wonderful atmosphere with great specials.
Hard to have a private conversation when you are sitting so closely to the next table.
Good food and good service.
There were seven of us who meet for lunch during the holidays, and we always come to Francesca’s. The
service was great and we all enjoyed our entrees ranging from ravioli to tilapia with asparagus and
sun-dried tomatoes. The desserts were tasty, too. I had the Dolce Francesca which were small fried dough filled with ricotta cheese and dusted with cinnamon, with chocolate sauce for dipping. I would definitely recommend Francesca’s Fortunato.
The place was packed! We were happy to get a seat at the bar. Absolutely no complaints. Wonderful.
Great food, lively atmosphere. Service was not great but that is unusual for this restaurant.
