Francesca's Fortunato Ratings and Reviews
This place has been around for some time. Just when I thought they were getting stale, the last few times we had dinner, the food was very very good and cocktails were excellent. They have an efficient and attentive staff on the weekends despite being very busy. One exception, some of the staff are almost too efficient, attempting to get your full order before having time to look at the menu and relax with your drink, or clearing the table the instant you take your last bite. We celebrated a quiet birthday last week and I told my server we did not want to be rushed. She was great being attentive without pushing. A couple of times this year we ate mid week and everything was great.
I love the restaurant very much - but where we were seated was a table for 4 and we had 6 people & were very squished in. I felt like my chair and the person behind me were bumping. It was an extra busy night (wish we knew Santa was there) & if we knew that, we'd have gone elsewhere. My meal was good and our service was great, but just don't like being cramped.
We had an early reservation, so noise not a problem. However, as the restaurant filled, it got louder and louder. The management appeared to think that turning up the volume of the piped in music was a good response to this situation. I disagree. The building was cold. I shivered through the meal. M y pasta was al dente to the point of being hard. The veggies in the dish were very nice. Our waiter was attentive if not prompt. I don't drink, but my companion had wine she appeared to enjoy. Huge glasses, modest amount of wine. The bar is ver handsome. the bar stools have backs, which is nice. I waited in one of the chairs for my dinner companion to arrive. I love the Francesca's in Orland Park. This is not the same thing.
Date night with my wife and we choose pasta for tonight meal and glad we picked this place. We started with drinks while we looked over the menu our waitress asked if we had any questions. We got the house and the salad of the day with some strawberries nuts, both were tasty and a nice portion. Our main course came before we were done with our salads so the food server said sorry that both would be sent back kitchen and a fresh order would be made in 15 minuets, they would of been cold by the time we finish our salads. Great service! I ordered the sea food pasta and my wife had the chicken Diablo pasta, both were very flavorful and were fresh and big portions. We were too full and finished off our dinner with a cappuccino and coffee, service was excellent and enjoy the atmosphere. The place is popular and by the time we finish the place was full both bar and tables and people waiting for a table.
My husband had dinner here Friday night. It was too busy but we ate early because we wanted to catch a movie after. We ordered the fried calimari and it was delicious. Lightly battered and full of fresh flavor. The marinara sauce was good too. I ordered the seafood pasta, it was very good but could have used a little more heat/spice. My husband ordered the grouper and he felt his dish was good but lacked flavor and should have come with a side like pasta or rice. Overall a good experience.
Everything was great as usual except for our seating. We had a party of six and they sat us at a table but should’ve had no more than four. The table was very crowded and congested. It was our anniversary dinner with our family and I was somewhat disappointed to be squeezed into a table for four
On this visit, the noise levels were higher but to be expected, since it was a Friday night. Great food, good value and wonderful bar service. The risotto we had for a first course was worth the trip alone!
My perennial recommendation for most restaurants is for a little more to be included with the meal. Some potatoes, rice, or pasta don't cost much and make people feel like they've had a good meal. I'd like to see some three course prix fixe specials, too.
We'll be back--great neighborhood place.
Francesca's is such a wonderful restaurant. The service is great and the food is always delicious. I had the salmon with spinach and mushrooms, my sister had the cod sandwich and my niece had ravioli, everything was so good! The restaurant is beautiful and the town is so charming. Love all of the beautiful flowers!
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Drinks at the bar, appetizers on table, bread, oil, cheese. Entrees more drinks. Happy birthday for my son's 29th birthday. Busser, server, runner, all perfect. I can not say in words how much we loved it other than pasta cooked perfectly , chicken, salmon, sausage, shrimp, calamari, gnocci.
