Francesca's Fortunato Ratings and Reviews
My husband had dinner here Friday night. It was too busy but we ate early because we wanted to catch a movie after. We ordered the fried calimari and it was delicious. Lightly battered and full of fresh flavor. The marinara sauce was good too. I ordered the seafood pasta, it was very good but could have used a little more heat/spice. My husband ordered the grouper and he felt his dish was good but lacked flavor and should have come with a side like pasta or rice. Overall a good experience.
Everything was great as usual except for our seating. We had a party of six and they sat us at a table but should’ve had no more than four. The table was very crowded and congested. It was our anniversary dinner with our family and I was somewhat disappointed to be squeezed into a table for four
On this visit, the noise levels were higher but to be expected, since it was a Friday night. Great food, good value and wonderful bar service. The risotto we had for a first course was worth the trip alone!
My perennial recommendation for most restaurants is for a little more to be included with the meal. Some potatoes, rice, or pasta don't cost much and make people feel like they've had a good meal. I'd like to see some three course prix fixe specials, too.
We'll be back--great neighborhood place.
Francesca's is such a wonderful restaurant. The service is great and the food is always delicious. I had the salmon with spinach and mushrooms, my sister had the cod sandwich and my niece had ravioli, everything was so good! The restaurant is beautiful and the town is so charming. Love all of the beautiful flowers!
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Drinks at the bar, appetizers on table, bread, oil, cheese. Entrees more drinks. Happy birthday for my son's 29th birthday. Busser, server, runner, all perfect. I can not say in words how much we loved it other than pasta cooked perfectly , chicken, salmon, sausage, shrimp, calamari, gnocci.
My daughter picked Francesca's for her 12th birthday dinner - and it was best meal and service we have ever had in the 10 years we have been dining at Francesca's. They made my daughter feel extra special - the waitress Heidi was fantastic and even the manager came to our table to wish her a Happy Birthday.
Have been visiting the Frankfort location for a number of years, unfortunately, food and service are starting to suffer a bit. Restaurant is trying to be more upscale, but the lack of personalized service is starting to show. Few employees smile, specials aren't reviewed, not all of the food is served at the same time, flavor is lacking in a lot of dishes, need I continue?
I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and is usually one of my favorites. However, as soon as I walked in the restaurant smelled like bad fish, and was a total turn off. The menu was not as appetizing as normal and the food did not taste as flavorful as normal. Sad to see one of my favorite restaurants miss the mark so badly.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice but a little loud. I had a seafood pasta dish which was excellent. My spouse had a difficult time finding a meal to order though as he likes more standard Italian fare. So, my only suggestion would be that they offer a couple of the standard Italian fares on the menu or as specials such as spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and stuffed shells. When you go to an Italian restaurant you expect to see a couple of these items on the menu but the only one was the lasagna bolognese which was a special - which he ordered and said was excellent.
Three of us met for lunch. Food was very good, service attentive without being annoying. The noise level was high for a white tablecloth lunch. We think it may have been the first day of school and all the moms were out celebrating. We split the profiterole dessert (3 cream puffs with pistachio gelato) three ways, which was delicious and just the right amount of dessert.
Used to love it here, the food was great, loved the atmosphere and the service was fine. Now....the service has gone downhill , we are always waiting for something longer than I would say is acceptable and the food has no taste. I haven't enjoyed my meal the last 3-4 times, nor has my husband. Dunno what's changed but I think it's had its last chance.
