Francesca's Famiglia Ratings and Reviews
After our Granddaughter’s swim meet and our Grandson’s soccer game we were all hungry!
The only problem was that some of the promotional websites and signs said the restaurant would not open until 4PM even though we had a reservation on OpenTable for 11:30.
We almost went to another restaurant!
The food was good, but the noise level was very loud and it made it difficult to hear the conversation occurring at our own table. Clearly it was a busy night and the service lacked. Our service was nice and attentive when he was around, but we waited a long time for that service. Don't think we would return.
Our food was very good overall and Renee, our server was excellent. The restaurant was busy and he was attentive without being intrusive. My wife, son and his girlfriend each had a pasta dish and reported that they were all very good. The price on those also were reasonable. I tried the osso buco. While it was tender it was more bland than I have experienced and it was a relatively small shank. It was not as good as some osso buco I have had at other Italian restaurants in other cities. So, while good, I would not rate the osso buco as excellent. We had some carrot cake for dessert and that was very good. We also had a good bottle of Argentinian Malbec.
We enjoyed a few appetizers and soups and found everything to be very good. The waitstaff was a bit overattentive, but I'd rather see that than be left to fend for myself with no service. We got there before the dinner crowd, and it was quiet, but quickly got loud, and a bit hard to hold a conversation, it was very busy, but then again, it was a Saturday night. Wouldn't recommend for a romantic quiet evening out, but the food, atmosphere and service were very very good.
We had reservation for Christmas Eve at 7:00. Arrived at 6:00 checked in and sat at the bar for a drink. After .45 minutes checked but they had no idea when we would be seated. We decided to eat at the bar. We ordered at 6:50 and at 7:35. No food no service. It was out of control there. Way over booked. Very crowded. People were all waiting for at least an hour plus. We decided to leave. Glad we did.
This was a bad night! I made a reservation several weeks out, and notified the restaurant that we would need to be seated right on time, since one member of our party was a pastor, and would only have limited time between Christmas Eve services. We got there, and they had obviously over-booked! There were several parties who had been waiting over an hour. We were seated 45 minutes late... to her credit, our server expedited our order, so we did actually have 30 minutes to eat, and the food was good. The delay added greatly to our stress, however, so it wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been.
Thank you! Our dinner was excellent, we had the filet with mashed potatoes and spinach. Our waiter was outstanding and very attentive on such a busy holiday night. He was familiar with the foods ans wines to compliment the meal. All staff were great and we had a very nice evening.
Good food, service was pretty good considering how busy the restaurant was. However, I was not seated at my requested table and the noise level in the room we were in was excessive; a whiny toddler next table didn't help. Not pleasant when spending over $100 on a meal. I may go back but will not accept a table not to my liking for the above reasons.
Went on Thanksgiving.....been here before....food always good! But, you know what was distracting? The music! I have never complained about that before but it was loud, poor choice of music....Italian restaurant....where was the Italian music? Where was Sinatra? His music is always being played! Just had to say something about it!
The food was delicious. The pricing was nowhere near as high as I figured it would be. The ambiance was beautiful. It was a bit louder in there then I thought it would be. But it's a smaller place that was fairly busy. Not the worse. The waiter we had was awesome (Giovanni). Will definitely go back.
Food and service here are usually excellent. This time the food was not the highlight. The staff were very good offering another option. However, it took too long, was not exactly as ordered and the other diners were finished when it was all resolved.
To their credit, they took the entree off the check. Kind of ruined the ambiance at the table.
Menu selections are always tasty, fresh and creative. Sauces are flavorful without being too heavy. Menu items change frequently so it's never boring. A big plus is that the kitchen will substitute pasta noodles that are different from the menu if you request.
We came for a tasting of some dishes we were considering for a private event. All were well prepared and we enjoyed each dish. The staff seemed flustered and we had to ask multiple times for little items such as refills or dishes forgotten... it could have just been the night. The private event in which we selected dishes for couldn’t have gone off better and the food was wonderful. All of our guests raved about the event..
