One of our all-time favorite restaurants but was called earlier today by someone affiliated with the restaurant's team and they told me the restaurant has now been permanently closed, so sad!

Closed with absolutely no forewarning - only a phone call the very day we were supposed to dine. The other Francesca’s in Barrington is just to noisy to have a comfortable dining experience so it looks like we’re out of luck visiting any in the Francesca’s chain....very disappointed.

Very disappointed that this location closed on December 26, 2017 without a warning to their employees. Our favorite restaurant in the area. A loss to our community as well.

I am so sad that this restaurant has closed. (Especially after purchasing a few hundred dollars worth of gift cards!) Dumping the news on the staff at the end of a shift is just lousy.

The food is amazing, the staff is great too. Dan, I'll miss your skills! I have never had a bad experience here. I wish the staff best wishes in their new adventures. We loved the neighborhood location. We always saw someone we knew when we visited - probably 3 times/month. I realize there are locations in Barrington and St Charles but those are a hike.

Great food and service as always. The hospitality is always there. The wait staff is very knowledgeable. Just a very good dining experience.

Not enough waiters. Took over an hour for order to be taken and meal served.

The hostess didn't believe we had a reservation because he couldn't find it. Portion sizes were not very big. Nothing included like a salad on the side. Gnocchi literally came out of a bag, was boiled and has sauce put on top...for $17.00. Ravioli meal has about 7 average sized raviolis with sauce. Also too expensive. Bus boy did more work than the waitress and was very nice.

The food was excellent. We had a pasta with shrimp, scallops and clams . Portions were large. We also had a lobster bisque, which was excellent. Cute place. Would recommend.

Place is a bit tight in seating , but the food never disappoints me. Always make a point to stop here when in Chicago. Service was good as the pour on the drinks were poured fairly for a good level restaurant

Good service, good food. They only had one of the specials left - lasagna...and it was only 7pm. Not sure what that was about but there were plenty of other options. All the food was good. The wine and drinks were great too.

Franchesca's is always busy, very popular restaurant for a good reason. The food is delicious. Menu has great variety.

We’ve eaten here many many times and have never had a bad meal. However, as usual the service is hit or miss. The bar is notoriously slow getting drinks to the table and our server never checked on us once. Great food sub par service. If you’re in a hurry you’re rolling the dice here.

Menu offerings are excellent. Many to choose from and have never been disappointed in any of the great selections. Good location in the neighborhood and highly recommended

Here to celebrate a romantic birthday date with my husband. ...As always, food was fabulous, and extremely flavorful- and service was very speedy. The staff are super friendly. Walked out with yummy leftovers! Looking forward to our next visit.

This was our second visit to Francesca's Campagna in West Dundee, IL. My husband and I took his sister out to dinner, and none of us was disappointed. The calamari fritti is a delightful appetizer. We split 2 Caesar salads among us. Our entrees were all very good (Linguine Diavola con Pollo, Rigatoni alla Norcina, and Fettuccine alla Bolognese), and the portions are ample, so we each had plenty to take home for the next day. The staff treated my sister-in-law to a tiramisu for her birthday, which was a pleasant surprise. We will certainly return to this restaurant for special occasions, or when we're in the mood for an Italian meal.

Calamari had very heavy breading. My chicken was so overcooked I couldn't eat eat it. Our daughter's scallop dish had both hot and cold parts. My husband's pasta was chewy and tasted undercooked. The server took my dish off the check and gave me a desert, but acted like she really didn't understand what the problem was. We won't be back.

The price definitely exceeded the value for a suburban restaurant.

Beautiful little restaurant near the river. We split an appetizer and a salad, then had our own entrees. The food was delicious. The narrow building with hardwood floors made the noise level a little higher than we wanted; we had a loud party of four behind us. Still, it was a nice dinner out with my spouse.

This is my go-to spot when I need a good Italian meal every time I come to that area. Good quality pasta with great sauce, incredible gnocchi with mushroom appetizer, decent portions, friendly service. You can’t go wrong

Our reservation was at 7:30. We got there at 7:15 and even though it was packed we got seated right away. Service was great, drinks were good, appetizers and entree were very good well worth the $. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! We are regulars to this establishment. We drive 45 mins to enjoy their fabulous food! The menu changes regularly and it's all fresh, fresh, fresh! We recently took our friends there to experience it. They were thrilled with the place - service, food, everything!

The food was tremendous, service was very attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for one, two, or four.

Francesca Campagna is a West Dundee gem. The food is always fresh and tasty. The portions are substantial. The desserts are the perfect end to a perfect meal. The menu changes through out the week which means each meal can and will be different. Our favorite item is the carpaccio and we order it every time we visit. The wine list is lengthy while not being overbearing or pretentious. The service is unequaled and very personal. In addition to various pastas, chicken, beef and/or fish will be on the menu. Fresh bread with seasoned olive oil is a great start but make sure to leave room for a salad or soup. They have a full bar so linger over an aperitif with you dessert - you won’t regret it.

Didn't wait at all to get a table. The server was very helpful in suggesting dishes and wine. Did push any food or wine on us. Let us enjoy our food and not rush us out. The food was fantastic. Can't wait to go back to try pther dishes.

Come to this place often and it doesn’t let me down. Incredible risotto this time around followed by a spicy pasta with sausage.. delicious . Dessert menu is good but could use some creativity. Wine list not extensive but theres a broad choice.

Our service and and food were outstanding. We were a party of 6 during prime time Saturday night, and the server is one of our favorites! He makes it a lot of fun for our kids, and is terrific with his wine service. He accommodates every special request, and everything always comes out perfectly.
