Francesca's Campagna Ratings and Reviews
Calamari had very heavy breading. My chicken was so overcooked I couldn't eat eat it. Our daughter's scallop dish had both hot and cold parts. My husband's pasta was chewy and tasted undercooked. The server took my dish off the check and gave me a desert, but acted like she really didn't understand what the problem was. We won't be back.
Beautiful little restaurant near the river. We split an appetizer and a salad, then had our own entrees. The food was delicious. The narrow building with hardwood floors made the noise level a little higher than we wanted; we had a loud party of four behind us. Still, it was a nice dinner out with my spouse.
Fantastic! We are regulars to this establishment. We drive 45 mins to enjoy their fabulous food! The menu changes regularly and it's all fresh, fresh, fresh! We recently took our friends there to experience it. They were thrilled with the place - service, food, everything!
Love the Franchesca's chain, but this one is closest to us and, in our opinion, the best!
Francesca Campagna is a West Dundee gem. The food is always fresh and tasty. The portions are substantial. The desserts are the perfect end to a perfect meal. The menu changes through out the week which means each meal can and will be different. Our favorite item is the carpaccio and we order it every time we visit. The wine list is lengthy while not being overbearing or pretentious. The service is unequaled and very personal. In addition to various pastas, chicken, beef and/or fish will be on the menu. Fresh bread with seasoned olive oil is a great start but make sure to leave room for a salad or soup. They have a full bar so linger over an aperitif with you dessert - you won’t regret it.
Our service and and food were outstanding. We were a party of 6 during prime time Saturday night, and the server is one of our favorites! He makes it a lot of fun for our kids, and is terrific with his wine service. He accommodates every special request, and everything always comes out perfectly.
Thanks for making this evening a wonderful night, and we are so happy we can always rely on the staff at Francescas!
Food was amazing and delicious but the service was absolutely horrible. If I'm paying $150 for dinner for 3, I do not expect to receive Olive Garden standards of services. When we first arrived it was early and slow but then as soon as our waiter received a large party he was no where to be found. We had to ask for cheese & bread, more wine and to look a dessert menu; we saw the food runner and busy boy more then our server. It was my mothers 55th birthday and she very disappointed because at the Arlington Height location we receive great quality and quantity of food and service each time we dine there
Francesca's is a fantastic restaurant in every respect with the single exception of table spacing which results is excessive noise. Once you get past that issue there is ABSOLUTELY nothing negative that can be said about this restaurant. The carpaccio is marvelous and well proportioned. Francesca's pasta is always cooked to perfection. If you want to add or remove a certain ingredient the staff will do their best to accommodate your request. For a small local restaurant the wine list is noteworthy and reasonably priced. My advice: give Francesca's a try and order the carpaccio and any of the pastas. You won't be disappointed.
This was our first time dining here. The menu, which offered something for every taste, was supplemented by special dishes. The portions were perfect. The food was satisfying in all respects. A good wine list. The service was very good with just the right amount of attention. We did not feel rushed or otherwise burdened. The only drawback was parking, but perhaps we missed spots to park because we were unfamiliar with the area.
We were there on "Lasagna Night" and they seemed to have there hands full. Took about 20 minutes just to get a beer. Heard others complaining as well. Food was very good, but service was lacking. I've dined at other Francesca's and this was the most disappointing thus far.
We loved the food!!! We only had 3 small problems. 1 in our party ordered sausage and peppers and it came out after he had finished his lasagna. We asked for but never received mors bread. 1 in our party had a very hard time getting a refill of coffee. It was VERY busy as they had $8 lasagna. I have to go back and have the risotto again! Really good food!!
"Francesca's is always fantastic. The menu is updated seasonally but the food never fails to impress in terms of quantity, quality and freshness. We have never had a bad meal here and the service is consistently warm and inviting. We will be back again and again.
Cozy little restaurant. The staff is amazing, very friendly and attentive. The food was great, lots of flavor and a straight forward and well rounded menu. I felt like I was dining at a Chicago restaurant. We took our toddler with us and she had a great time.
I was not impressed by this place at all. This was my first and last experience of this place. I took my husband here for Father's Day, only to be disappointed. I found the food to be very under cooked. We both ordered pasta dishes and the pasta was so hard and rubbery we could not eat it at all. We both took one bite and we were done because of how uneatable it was. Pasta is suppose to be al-dente, not thick and hard/ rubbery. The service was not very good, it took a while to get our drinks, which was a pepsi and a jack and coke. I chose this place because of its reviews and customer satisfaction, but this was a total let down, and for it being Father's Day celebration, i was very disappointed and will more than likely not return.
