About Francesca's Bryn Mawr
Francesca’s Bryn Mawr became the 8th restaurant added The Francesca's Restaurant Group in 1999. Located in the old Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel, Francesca's Bryn Mawr brings a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices to the Edgewater neighborhood. The menu features the zesty earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio.

Francesca's Bryn Mawr Ratings and Reviews
Another lovely dining experience. I ordered a dish similar to what I had tried before elsewhere, but alas, it wasn't to my liking - nothing wrong with it - just didn't suit me - I didn't complain - not their fault - but they opted to replace it for me at no additional charge. I thought that was exceptionally lovely of them. It is one of my "go-to" places - not in my neighborhood but in one I do frequent (if closer to my home I'd be there even more often!)
Service is always delightful. And they do a dining discount deal with Redtwist Theatre which I attend regularly - to add value to the experience.
The Monday night fixed-priced offer is excellent - appetizer, entree, and dessert - $25 . We had an excellent meal and outstanding service by Terry. He gave us time to study the menu and did a great job of explaining the menu and special. This place has always been reliable.
This is location is one of our top two favorites in the chain (interestingly, we've found a VERY big difference in both quality & management/attitude across all their locations; hint: avoid the one on Chestnut/Streeterville!) Very welcoming, attentive and the food is always delicious. Usually come for a dinner but brunch was also great. Happy to accommodate special food requests. Yummy Italian!
We make it a habit to have our group board meetings at Francesca's Bryn Mawr. Food and service are excellent. I love the ambience, intimate tables, some booths and small tables along the windows when I'm alone. They often have special events and days when certain things are available. It's a favorite place to dine.
Francesca's is a great neighborhood Italian place. It's not a "red sauce" heavy cheese baked pasta and pizza place, although there are some nice pizzas available (as well as make your own). The pasta portions are very generous and the carpaccio is served with many garnishes that complement without overwhelming the beef. Good cocktail, beer and wine selections and there are daily specials and happy hour price specials as well. Very consistent food, consistently good/nice/friendly/helpful service. Recommended for small, medium and maybe large (over 16 people?) groups.
I was having dinner with a friend I haven't seen for a while. Our waiter, Matt, was attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious, including a full gluten-free menu for my friend. We ended up spending two hours over dinner and dessert and it was satisfying on every level.
This was the second time we have been to Francesca's Bryn Mawr and once again we were pleased with the menu, wine list, service, ambience and value. The staff is experienced and friendly and there is no need to rush. We really enjoyed our dining experience and will return.
Upholds the Francesca's standards for delicious Italian food. This location is near two theatres, so perfect for a pre-theatre meal. Salads fresh and crisp, not overdressed. The carpaccio was excellent, the nero avola a very satisfying heavier red, and desert - a molten chocolate cake with mint gelato and berry garnish/sauce (I split it with a friend) just perfect. My friend had the gnocci and was very happy with that dish, as well. Service attentive but not obtrusive - very pleasant waitstaff. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
