When we found out the restaurant is closing in downtown LaGrange, we were astounded....Christmas Eve was standing room only as we left. It has become a LaGrange icon, a neighborhood place to eat, to meet, and have a good time. How sad to discover it is closing. LaGrange can do better than that with all of its 100 places to eat and none holds a candle to Francesca's.....we will miss it. We have always had a wonderful dining experience there.
We ate there on Dec 23 and had another great meal. So sad that they closed their doors on Dec 24
Service was very good and our waiter was cheerful and helpful. However, we waited over 40 minutes for our entrees in a night with normal dining traffic, although there was a big party seated in our side. Other than the very long wait, we were very happy with the restaurant.
Wonderful restaurant. Both food and service were great. Sadly, we learned that they’d be closing after the next day we were there. Glad we got to experience it while we could.
This was our go to local restaurant. Food was consistently good and the staff was outstanding. We will miss our Friday night high top in the bar area. My hope is that the employees were able to be absorbed by other restaurants within the group. Very disappointed in the timing of the closure. The staff deserved better. Francesca’s Bellezza will be greatly missed.
One of the meals was the Pasta Paesana-D with added Mozzarela cheese and then baked. It was extremely salty. I could only eat half of it because the salt was so overpowering. The other meal was the Ravioli Spinach which was good.
We eat at Francesca Bellezza’s on an average of once every other month and had not had a problem previously. Service was excellent as usual.
It was a strange evening and I start with the food which was good, particularly the pasta.
Arrived a little early for a 6:30 reservation. Young lady said they were "setting our table". Waited a while said I would go to the bar to wait as I felt in the way as others came in to be seated. Bartender was watching the football game, and I said I would have a drink. He gave me a bar menu, but never asked if I would like to order and then went to other end of bar and occupied himself as the game was over.
Very strange lag in service as we waited for dessert. Ordered two but one never came while the one with ice cream melted as we waited. Eventually waiter came back and said oh we don't have tiramisu. Ok, now our coffee is gone and we decide to just leave rather than spend the time figuring dessert out. Young lady did take one to go.
We were then given the wrong check. We had split a bill and started signing by the time we realized we were given a much cheaper bill than we should have been. We were thanked for our honesty.
Waiter was lovely, and tried very hard. Manager worked with us on our dessert dissatisfaction, but was very anxious to go over and eat his own dinner. It was 9 o'clock, maybe, so we weren't keeping anyone from closing.
Like to keep this in our repetoire of easy and comfortable places to enjoy decent food, but this service issue was impossible to ever relax with. I believe the waiter was trying.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in La Grange. Went this past Sunday for the brunch with Santa and it was a great experience for our family. Loved the French toast and delicious Bellinis.
Sergio was outstanding. Put up with the 10 of us old folks with a lot of patience and was very accommodating.
I was not very happy or impressed with the restaurant over all, I'll not go back....
