About Francesca's at the Promenade
Francesca's at the Promenade opened its doors to quests in August of 2009, becoming the 19th restaurant to join The Francesca's Restaurant Group. This west-suburban outpost offers guests “simple rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices,” which has been the winning recipe at all Francesca’s locations since 1992. Our menu features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. An eclectic wine list and one-of-a-kind martinis are the perfect accompaniment to an outstanding dining experience.

Francesca's at the Promenade Ratings and Reviews
This is a fabulous Italian restaurant. By far, one of the best restaurants we have been to. The food was delicious, I cannot recall the last time we had a dinner where everything tasted amazing. The prices are fair, as well. Highly recommend Francesca's. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant was overbooked and crowded. We made reservations well in advance, but it still took 30 minutes for us to be seated. Our table was in a back room with cafeteria lighting, no flowers, no candles-absolutely no ambiance. The music was odd for an Italian restaurant and Valentines Day - a loop of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. We overheard our poor harried waiter apologizing to multiple tables for lost meals and slow service. The food was good but the restaurant was chaotic. Since it opened, we've been going to Francesca's on the Promenade for not only special occasions but everyday dining. It use to be one of our favorite restaurants but not anymore.
Came in on Valentine's day with a 7:30pm reservation. We were sat at the table at 8pm. Knowing it was late, we immediately ordered dinner with our drinks. The waiter told us the kitchen was swamped. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our pasta. The staff was friendly and adjusted our bill because of the issue. However they should have staffed properly for a high volume restaurant night
First let's start with the name. The reservations were under Mike Murphy not Chris Murphy. Our reserved time was 7:00. We finally sat down at 7:30pm. Waited at the table for fifteen minutes before the bus boy showed up. Asking us if we wanted bread and water. Every restaurant I've been in starts out with water. Ten minutes later he shows up with bread no water. Ten minutes later the waitress shows up and asks us if we ready to order. She did mention the specials apparently they were out of water. We asked if we could place our appatizer order in at that time. She also had taken our order. The appatizer should up at 9:00 pm. Our salads showed up at 9:30pm. She showed up one time at the table. Our salads were basically thrown on our table by two bus boys speaking a language to us I did not understand. That is totally unacceptable.almost ten and our food never arrived yet. Did speak to a manager and he informed us he would try and compasate our bill. I mentioned a was done wanted my check and wanted to leave. The waitress showed up 20 minutes later no food and told us our bill was covered. I did not go ther to have my bill taken care of. I went there for valentines dinner with my wife and two other family members. I truly am disappointed since we did frequent this establishment quite often. Not A Happy Valentine's Day.
Valentines Day 6 pm reservation and we were seated at 6 even though restaurant was crowded. Our server Leslie and his assistant Juan were spectacular given the evening crowd. We enjoyed pasta dishes along with bruschetta and calamari appetizers. We both had wine before and during our meal. We love Francesca’s and we were not disappointed tonight.
Excellency service!!!! They attend to your every need. You won’t have to chase down anyone here to refill a drink or order. They will custom make your dish to your request. I live in the City and we went there for Valentines Day because it is close to the IPoc theatre we like. This place is amazing well worth a drive to the suburbs to dine here. We will be back!!!
Francesca's consistently serves excellent dishes at every course. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Don't ever pass on the soups, and the chef's daily specials have never disappointed. Menu is right-sized, not overwhelming, and just about anyone can find something to enjoy.
We happened on the Saturday lunch special. We each had a pizza, & we both loved what we ordered. We also had bruschetta as an appetizer. I believe Ian was our waiter, & he was great. So was the waiter's assist. He cut my pizza at the table, since it had an egg on top. It was fun to watch him do it & he did a great job of it!
Food was great as always, but service was sub-par. Drinks ordered never arrived. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for the day & time we were there. Not sure if that was indicative of others recent experiences.?????
Ordered 2 appetizers, one was delivered wrong. Took 25-30 minutes from the time we ordered until the food arrived. No reason or apology given.
Not sure if there was a management change but this is not what we are accustomed to from this restaurant group.
Met with friends and we’re well taken care of by our server. Food was fabulous and atmosphere was perfect. It’s difficult to find a bar that will make a raspberry martini without the use of preflavored vodka. If you like raspberry, try ordering the Death by Raspberry. They use a raspberry purée, world of difference. I’d also recommend the sea bass or salmon dish. Nice job from the chef to the servers. Thanks
