Enjoyed taking my mom there for dinner. Our waitress, Sandy, was friendly and hard working. Mom loved her salmon and broccoli. However, the potatoes were on the cold side. Husband's beef stew was ok with lots of tiny pieces of meat and potatoes. My prime rib sliders were on nice brioche buns. The music was fun. It put a smile on our faces and had the kids all dancing.
A long standing and wonderful establishment, Foxes Pub and restaurant has always fit the bill in comfort, accessibility, good music, and great food. It tends to be animated but relaxing enough. Even being put on the main floor with a large party of 16 was surprisingly very nice. The guests were able to circle around the long table and kibbitz comfortably. Our waitress Donna was a peach, and very patient with this loving gregarious group. It will always be a "go to" spot for my family, guests, and myself because it is truly lovely and accommodating. Kudos and warmest regards to the Fox family. Margaret McCarthy Sutton
We stopped for lunch with the intention of taking advantage of the daily special of half off of cheese pizzas for dinner.
Our wait person quickly and efficiently took orders of prime rib sandwich (hub) and fish and chips (me). Thankfully I had chosen soup of the day, a cup of marvelous soup. That is where the cart fell off the horse.
The sandwich may as well have been from Arby's. Prime rib should not be overcooked, it should have a measure of pink inside. The cut was not succulent prime rib, rather pot roast. I do know the difference folks no matter how you try to mask it.
The fish was the equivalent of four fish sticks engulfed in tons of breading. While the breading was light and fluffy and terrific in and of itself, it is not the star. I laughed out loud as I attempted to find the fish. Wow how stupid do the owners think we are?
Obviously we decided not to order pizza to go.
Reminder the servers should not be penalized monetarily for kitchen/management shortcomings.
Best pizza and cheese garlic bread in town. My grown kids always love meeting me there.
Tried it for the first time! I will definitely be back. Great staff, fast service and delicious food!
Good food, nice evening.
Terrific food. Good experience.
Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Cousin & I stopped for burgers & wine before attending a Live Nativity scene at a local church. Burgers were very good and my side (Caesar Salad) was huge & delicious! Definitely worth the trip from Tinley Park.
We had a party of 5 celebrating the Christmas Season. We were seated upstairs and it was great! We loved our server. Unfortunately, I forgot her name. Tall, thin, blond and very friendly. Was great getting our drinks and our food was served hot. She was awesome!
The atmosphere's great. The band was good. Overall the food was good. However there was one thing that bothered me and bothered my husband to the point where he will not go back to Fox's. My husband ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. When it was brought to him he took one bite and knew it wasn't what he ordered. So I looked at it and tastes it and said no way that's a buffalo wrap. The waitress brought it back to the cook who argues it was a buffalo wrap. After that she offered to bring out buffalo sauce. I asked her, "if that is a buffalo wrap why isn't the wrap the same color as the sauce?" and her reply as "that's how we make it here." So without buffalo sauce? My husband was so disgusted because it was clear that they were not going to fix it. So the waitress took it off the bill and my husband refused to order anything else.
Very nice experience.
Good food, but noisy.
Despite the loud bar atmosphere, the food was delicious and am always up for live music! A bit pricey, but not outrageous. Nice find on a town not familiar
Classic neighborhood family restaurant.
Extensive "comfort food" menu. Food is very good, but not outstanding.
Service was very friendly, but slow.
This was our first time at Fox's but it definitely will not be our last! The waitress was awesome and the food was really good. They also had a musician start up around 6 PM and he was talented and played good songs, but nothing so loud that you couldn't have a conversation.
The restaurant was really nice & the staff was very friendly. Our waitress got a little discombobulated, but overall we really had a great time. And the food was delicious. I'll definitely go back.
Food was delish, and the service was fantastic! Great place.
The food was cold and the service was very bad. I ordered the shrimp dinner and it took the waiter 10 minutes to tell me the Shrimp was already gone. I ordered the pizza and everyone at my dinner table had their food before I got mine.
We have been to Foxes many times in the past & the food never is a disappointment. The service is normally very friendly & prompt. Sorry to say this time the service was terrible. I do not blame the dining room being busy. It was busy because people were not getting served. Our waitress was so bad, the next table had to go to the bar to get their own soda & take their own dirty dishes away. We sat near the bar & I saw our pitcher of beer waiting to be taken to us at the table for 14 mins. We ordered individual pizzas & they came after 45 mins. & were not even hot, just warm. No excuses, no apologies. I wish I know the waitress's name so I could ask not to be at her table again.
It was the day before St Patrick's day so, my husband had the special-corned beef and cabbage. He loved it. My brother opted for the patty melt and took half of it home. The portions are very generous. I tried the Mediterranean grilled salmon salad-excellent! There was live entertainment which made for a very enjoyable time!
The seating and ambiance was fine. The food was good. The service was somewhat lacking. The server was covering a few too many tables, and there were somewhat long waits for steak sauce to be delivered, and for an incorrect soup to be replaced. To be specific, the replacement soup was delivered with the dinner, and the steak sauce was brought after at least one of the four meals of our group of four was almost completely finished. It could have been a better experience all in all. I would still recommend the restaurant.
All was good.
Consistently great food with attentive service. One of our favorite places. Try the tomato bread for a fun appetizer.
This was an off night. My wife and I food was not hot, our friends food was hot. I assume this is a kitchen issue. Service very slow.
Fox's Restaurant and Pub has decent food and pizza, but the service was awful. The waitress forgot about putting in our order, and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for a corned beef sandwich and a steak sandwich. The waitress also didn't come back to check in until after we were already done eating, and by then we had already flagged down another waitress to get us more sauce and a drink refill. Wouldn't come here with high hopes for fantastic service.
I was very disappointed this past Saturday as I took the time to make a dinner reservation through OpenTable for 5PM and came in at noon that day with a special birthday cake for my fiancé to avoid carrying it in when I arrived with him, spoiling the surprise. The front desk entered notes in my computer reservation noting that I'd brought in my own cake for the occasion. When dinner was done, I quietly motioned to the waitress whispering the word "cake?" She BLURTED OUT "Oh yes, he'll get something for his birthday." I nodded as if saying, "No, that's not what I meant." to try and keep my fiancé from hearing everything about the so-called surprise. End-all? Your waitress chatted with me probably about 3 times about the cake, when I brought it in, etc. etc. EVERYONE AT OUR TABLE KNEW A CAKE WAS COMING, MY FIANCE INCLUDED. Then, after I pretty much told her what I'd brought right in front of my fiancé, she brings him a scoop of ice cream with a candle on it instead of the cake. After I TOLD HER (more than once) there is was a cake in back that I'd PURCHASED/BROUGHT IN earlier that day. I ask myself why I even made a special trip earlier that day, because your staff had NO CLUE how to handle a surprise. I'd assumed patrons bring cakes in all the time for this purpose. It should not have been something new. She acted like I had two heads when I told her I'd brought a cake in. PLEASE HAVE YOUR SERVERS/HOSTESSES READ THE NOTES IN YOUR COMPUTER when people take the time to make reservations beforehand and/or make special arrangements to make the occasion special. She RUINED the occasion and I'm very disappointed.
Born and raised in Oak Lawn and Fox's Pub always, always, always is supreme in food, service and all that matters. Lisa, our attending server, was outstanding and patient with a relatively large group. Pizza is NUMBER ONE. Every guest loved their food and were pleased.
Great food, good service, nice singing, I would definitely go there again..
Great service from our waitress Susan. As first timers, she suggested the pizza. We tried the sausage and it was really good. Steaming hot cheese, very good sausage and a good sauce. I would have preferred a crispier crust but still very very good. Can't wait to try other menu items. Went on a Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised by live entertainment!
Our server was very good. Our food was tasty. My beer was good, but a few more wine choices would be great.
My FAVORITE restaurant and have left positive reviews MANY TIMES, BUT, this was my worse experience here EVER. Celebrated wife's 64th birthday and I persuaded her to go here instead of downtown. (My BIG MISTAKE) Party of 10 which overwhelmed our waitress. We were Patient and understanding, BUT, the fact remains it was more than she could handle. We were understanding as we watched her wait the table next to us with a party of eight Sr. citizens who kept her running back and forth and then wanted her to separate each dinner bill. ( it took 12 mins.) She was very apologetic, BUT NEVER brought us bread until dinner. Brought the salads, appetizers and dinner out all at the same time. Sides (Had to request them) came after dinners was completed AND it was not until we were exiting that she remembered wife's birthday while other birthdayers were being serenaded. We took a pass. we spoke to the manager and she was most gracious. Will we return, OF COURSE!
We were entertained by a live performer and our server was super nice. Our food was delicious and our drinks from the bar were perfect. We tried our luck at the video gaming and it was fun.
Food was good. Service ok. Still worth going but next time maybe for lunch. Dinner was a little noisy with children crying & throwing food.
We went for an early dinner on New Year's Eve. We arrived about 6:30 PM and stayed for a couple of hours. We had the pizza, and it was wonderful. The service was excellent, and there was a singer. The entertainment was okay--good, but not outstanding. ( I think the entertainment usually starts later, but it was a special occasion. ). The atmosphere was lively and happy. There were couples, and quite a few groups, including families with children. We had a good time.
Intimate with a private dining room even with a large group. Food was delicious and portions were nice and large. I will definitely go there again next time I'm in town.
O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G Dinner outing. 14 in attendance. Had a fabulous time.
Always like stopping in for a Washington Apple martini after a long workday. Great sandwiches and probably the best coleslaw I've ever eaten.
I made my reservation on open table. My only request was that it be a table. We were delightfully surprised to find a table in a small enclosed room all to ourselves. Our server was fantastic and quite attentive. We had a blast and will returning soon!
I like fox's as a change of pace pizza. The only problem is the terrible live music that they have play in the restaurant. The guy is a joke.
