I love this place, and Happy Hour is amazing!!! The mussels and fries are to die for. Service is always super nice and fast.
Delicious meal! The duck fat fries are to die for. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The only thing that wasn't great was the noise level, which made conversation difficult at times. But everything else was terrific.
The food was excellent, and our waitress was outstanding. We were a large group of 9 people and everything came out quickly and accurately. I also highly recommend tasting your way through the cocktail menu. The For Fox's Sake has a really tasty mint foam--as a group I think we drank 9 or 10 of those alone!
This was at least our fourth or fifth visit and all went perfectly. Drinks great, food excellent, and the atmosphere a wonderful mix of neighborhood hide away and trendy bar. Just a great spot!
Okay this is five stars within its category-- of wonderful, local places with a terrific ambience, great food and friendly but more importantly professional service. It is a keeper. We had the brussel sprouts and mussels as a starter and four different pizzas as a main. Everything was served straight from the stove/oven (not held in a warmer) and was fresh, delicious and attractively presented. The restaurant is underground but feels open not claustrophobic (important for me!). Apparently, it is a real treat to sit at the bar and watch them make cocktails. Next time!!!
Great food, great ambiance - a hidden jewel!
We reserved a table for nine for a dinner preceding a wedding celebration in downtown Annapolis. Unfortunately the hostess did not hold a table open but guessed (wrong) about how long tables would take to clear. We waited over a half hour to be seated. Fortunately. the bar had a good selection, including impressive bourbons at reasonable prices. The bartender was great and the scene was lively. This meant, however, that noise level was too high for easy dinner conversation. We ate a diverse selection of pizza, starters, salads, and everyone was happy with the food. Our waitress was great. I recommend the place for a cool ambiance, good food and drinks, especially if you don't mind a noisy Friday night crowd, However, don't think you can rely on timely fulfillment of a reservation or easy chatting if you'rewith a large group.
Way too loud
We have dined at foxes den many times. They never disappoint!
Good place for sharing a meal with friends and family. It notes that it is not good for kids. I think that it may not be good for all kids, there is no kids menu, but parents shouldn't shy away if their kids enjoy trying new things.
We went for a bachelorette party (really just a dinner all together) and the service was great and food was also. However, the waitress brought a shot for the bride (without being asked to) and then charged her for it. It just seemed like a strange gesture. Other than that, it was great.
Food was tremendous. Something for everyone. Service was fabulous.
We came from out of town for commissioning week and had a party of ten the first night. Great service, great drinks and great memories! Tried to come back later to watch hockey but the bar was packed!! Go Caps!!
Made an 8pm reservation for my brothers bachelor party. We were up the street at Dry85 before this, and I had no service in there. They tried calling me around 8 to make sure I was still coming but I never got the calls. I walked outside to call them and let them know we were going to be there shortly. By the time we got everyone there, they had actually sat another party at our table. They quickly set us up at another table and everything was fine. The service was outstanding considering the situation and it was very busy. Food and drinks were great as always! Waitress was extremely accommodating!
Only suggestion is to paint the step leading into restaurant from street - i almost fell flat on my face 😱 thank goodness I hadn’t consumed any liquid yet! Other then that I LOVE 💗 this place!
Absolutely delish. Everyone was very happy with their food and cocktails. Awesome beer selection. Great service. Food came out very fast.
Loved the restaurant however very difficult to have a conversation. Very loud when we were there. Overall it was a fun place
We were very upset when we had a reservation last Saturday for 10 for my friends birthday who was in town. We were told we had to pay a 25$ cake fee even though I brought the cake and cut it myself there. We were ordering lots of drinks and was very surprised we still got charged that 25$ fee.
We gathered for a birthday celebration in this casual and inviting space below street-level. The unique menu suited everyone's palate, and the food was delicious! Our birthday celebration was enhanced by the group playing guitar that evening, and they were kind enough to sing "Happy Birthday" to my daughter. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere...we'll be back!
Dinner was outstanding. There are so many amazing options and a fun night out where you can order plates for the table to share. Everything was amazing. Must try the pizza!!!!
The food was delicious. The small plates where perfect and allowed us to try everything we wanted to.
I would go here more but it is often crowded. I can see why though! Really like this place (even though I don’t always feel like it has the most friendly atmosphere all the time). Oh well I don’t think this place is meant for that! I will continue to come back for the food and the ambience. Still really worth it! Had a great time.
Birthday dinner with 7 . Two small children . Food was outstanding . Mussels were the best !
Very loud & totally OVERRATED
Food was just blah to me
My family, all 7 of us including 18 month grandson, had a fabulous evening celebrating our daughter’s birthday. It could not have been better!
Cozy place for great pizza and small plates. Service was great! Need reservations!
Great meal and fun (and noisy) ambience.
Two of our friends were getting engaged that night and we were unsure of how many would be in our party. We made a reservation for 6 and ended up with 12 people (definitely not considerate on our part and we were prepared to be very flexible!). The hostess offered us a 9 person table and helped us get more chairs so we could all fit. We were so thankful for that service and we had so much fun celebrating our friends. The staff even helped us keep an eye out for them so we could surprise them! It was such a great night and it was all thanks to the wonderful staff at Fox's Den. Thank you again!!
Overall great service. Only disappointment was the roasted beets salad - tasted like they were just canned beets; however, the Mac n cheese and pizzas were great. Popular place so Make reservations or you’ll wait.
Came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing time. The food was delicious, the cocktails delightful. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend to others.
Food was very good, but it was way too noisy. Couldn't hear without yelling.
Our drinks were served by a very friendly bartender and our server, Lauren was top notch. She went out of her way to ensure we had a fantastic experience.
The staff were excellent when dealing with our party of 8, one of whom ACTUALLY DID the "truffle shuffle" to order dessert. Thank you for putting up with us! It was super hot but we heard the A/C wasn't working, so no worries. Check it out!
I've been here four times. The first time the food was excellent. Each time the food got progressively worse to the point that we sent my favorite dish back because it was so salty my son who LOVES salty foods wouldn't eat it. Of the six dishes at the table one was inedible, three were not very good, one was mediocre (and that was some steak), and one was pretty good. They seem to only be able make a wildfires pizza that's any good these days and even that will likely be partially burnt.
The price is crazy for the food. The menu is tiny. The only reason to go here is because you have some need for a drink menu that fills a page. But don't expect cocktails there. They really only serve whiskeys, eyes, beers, etc straight up. They mix you something if you ask but apparently this is the one bar in town whose bartenders aren't interested in creating a tasty concoction.
All that said it's got plenty of patrons. Mostly the after work crowd grabbing drinks but unless they fix the kitchen I wonder how long the bar will carry them.
This was our fifth trip since you have been opened for business. The last two times have been different. The lighting is better and the crowds are swelling. This last visit, the place looked like New Years Eve, it was so busy. The noise was a little much, but Lauren H, our server the last two meals, was very, very good. The next time we stop in, we will be sure to request our Lauren.
The food is unique and tasty, however the portions/price are what one would expect in NYC. Scallops - 3 in the portion for the price of an entree. The carrot appetizer, great flavors but the portion was miniscule for the price. In fact, served on a large plate with 3/4's of the plate empty. And the signature cocktails were good, but cocktails not on the menu were not properly executed. Pizzas are the best value, although my crust was burned. Ate it anyway, just ate around the black parts.
We love the bar at Fox's Den, so we figured we'd try the food for my husband's bday with a group of 6 friends, based off of the reviews. The pizzas are delicious, inexpensive, and big enough to split between 2 people. We loved the salmon small plate being offered - it was some of the best salmon I've had to date, with a perfect sear. It is VERY loud here, but that's okay if you are looking to have a really fun time!
Tasty. Good service.
Great atmosphere, cocktails, food and service. Phenomenal selection of bourbon!
Usually we get pizza and it's great - not this time. There were 6 of us and our food was staggered so badly that our food got cold waiting for everyone to be served. The pizzas were just ok, the entrees were the smallest portions we have ever seen. They looked like child's portions at adult prices. Very disappointing
