FOUR - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
I enjoy dining at Four as it meets my needs (and the needs of others I dine with). Normally the food is great, on this occasion, it was okay. The person I was dining with had one of the entrée chicken dishes and thought it was good, mine (which I have order many times before) was different and very acidic. Without hesitation (and without me asking) they remade the dish and it was still not the same that I had come to really enjoy.
So my learning from this experience, is even great restaurants have off days, but I will go back again.
This was my first opportunity to dine at FOUR and I was really looking forward to it as I have never had a bad meal at the 'sister' restaurant - Far Niente. Consequently I was 'super' disappointed with the meal as were my two colleagues. Two of us had the daily special - Chicken Schwarma. My cous cous was clumpy, there was very little if any hummus, the pita bread seemed stale and the chicken was not particularly flavorful . Our other guest had the mushroom ravioli and he could only eat about half of it. Wouldn't go back .
From my last two visits, burger was underdone and the special was incorrectly described. Both my friend and I had to return for re-cook or alternative. Staff are attentive, but a little bit disjointed - several are supporting the service but don't seem to communicate with each other.
Overall the food is good, the location & ambiance/decor is good.
They get you in and out for business lunch within the hour which is nice.
Our experience at FOUR was overall above average. Wait staff were attentive, friendly and professional. 3 issues I had, out of 3 meals 1 was hot, 1 was perfect, and 1 was cold. This tells me that 2 meals sat while one took the longest. In addition, a secondary paper napkin would have been in order, especially when an appetizer is ordered along with dinner. After a secondary bottle of sparkling water was ordered additional lime wedges were not provided.
I will return
I was not very happy with this spot. The menu offered a small number of options, all were fancy variations but no basic burger/sandwich/pasta options at all. My chicken burger was ground chicken and it didn't taste very good at all. A basic chicken breast would have been so much more enjoyable.
This is lunch folks - I just want a decent sandwich or salad or soup option. My palate likes the familiar most of the time.....it is not always questing for adventure.
Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly.
I ordered the achiote marinated chicken which was amazing. My only critique would be that it could have used a base - such as rice or even a piece of bread (maybe crostini).
The menu is smaller than I'm used to, but the restaurant is very nice - even though we were seated in a very crowded area.
The portions are small, so if you have a big appetite or are a meat and potatoes/burger/traditional fare kind of person, this might not be the place for you.
Surprisingly gourmet food for a somewhat pub-like restaurant. The place is a bit dark and quite loud but the food (tapas) were fantastic! We tried almost all of them and not one disappointed. An added surprise was that every night before 7:00pm, tapas are $5.00 off. A serious deal, not to be missed. Featured local beers were also only $5.00. My husband and I had dinner and drinks for under $70.00 (before tax/tip).
The restaurant is a bit tricky to find as its below Far Niente and signs weren't obvious. A quick call to the restaurant cleared that up. All in all a nice surprise. I'll definitely go back. Still have a few Tapas to try!😋
My co-workers and I went here for lunch to celebrate a birthday. It's a great spot for people who work in the financial district and it's accessible underground in the PATH. We started with one portion of the octopus appetizer. It's really small for four people but it was cooked well even though slightly over seasoned. I had the marinated chicken which is served in a bowl with broth, chicken, vegetables and some crushed tortilla chips. It was pretty tasty. My co-workers enjoyed their meals as well. We went right at noon so it was really busy and took some time to get our meals. I would return for lunch or go to their take out place next door.
I love the food and service. Being a vegetarian I'm very happy to see multiple choices on the menu and the food tastes great. This is a great place to bring clients for lunch however the last time I was there it was really loud. I noticed as the restaurant was filling up the music got louder, which in turn makes people talk louder... Otherwise great experience overall
Burgers are not made fresh at the restaurant , this is disappointing - they couldn't make the bison burger medium rare, only very well done and it was dry and tasteless! The chicken yakitori burger was a bit better than the bison, but the quality could have been improved.
I have taken clients and friends to Four for over the past 8 or so years and I love coming to your establishment. The wait staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the cuisine offered.
Thank you for a great time again and again and for your Butter Chicken Tuesdays!
I've been to Four multiple times with friends and clients and have always had a great experience. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't as good. Our server, unfortunately I can't remember his name, lacked people skills and when he got flustered, he avoided us all together. The general manager was very accommodating but the damage from the waiter had already been done. As this was the first time I've had bad service at Four, I will return but I was very disappointed with the service this time around.
The staff was very friendly and attentive and everyone seemed very knowlegeable of the menu items, but I didn't feel the menu was very diverse.
I ordered a Bison burger and it was very dry and not enough garnishings (it came with the bun and the patty only, with a little bit of tomato paste).
Their price is not too bad, but we can pay the same price range in different restaurants and get a lot more variety of food.
