Four Winds Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Four Winds on multiple occasions, and every single time we leave completely satisfied. A top notch menu, prepared perfectly every time, with the finest service one could experience. Friendly and completely accommodating. This is our "go to" place for our anniversary. Great ambiance, country upscale. Feel comfortable in jeans or a suit. 5 stars for me as they never disappoint.
Everyone in our party had a steak. They were prepared from cool rare to well done and they were all done beautifully.
The restaurant was lovely and the location was incredible. We look forward to returning when the weather is warmer to enjoy the outdoor scenery more.
I would have to say this is my favorite Steak house, I take customers to a wide variety of steakhouses all over the Dallas Ft Worth area, the food is excellent, atmosphere is very relaxed, and the staff is very professional. I have been to this restaurant sometimes more than 2 times a month for several years, can't help but give 4 winds 5 stars.
WAY too much use of cracked black pepper! It was heavy on steak and sides, so much that I had to scrape most off steak and carrots so my food was eatable. On the bright side the wine and bread and dessert were great. They also accommodated one of us with a simple meatless pasta dish.
I had heard great things from friends. All at the table ordered steaks medium. All we're cooked medium except one person's. They took it back and brought it back medium rare. My steak was extremely salty and over peppered and I like salt. I had to cut the top off of the steak to get rid of the salt. Sides were great .
The most revealing question is "Would I recommend this restaurant to friends". I do that all the time. But the strongest recommendation is that I keep coming back. It is about an hour's drive from my house, so I go there for special occasions when it is worth the drive, and it is. My wife and I have been making dinner there an annual treat on our anniversary. It is something we look forward to all year. The steaks are incredible. But if you are on a diet, forget it, because they do not hold back on the butter. The wait staff is friendly but not hovering. It is always an enjoyable dining experience. I am already looking forward to next year, if not sooner.
This place never disappoints. The steaks are stellar and the peppercorn sauce is a must order to go with your steak. Sides are served family style and can feed 3-4 per portion. Salads are delicious. Onion ring stack is a great shareable appetizer (not greasy at all). Fish specials change as do the mashed potatoes with additions. Highly suggest reservations. Venue is beautiful at sunset. Staff is friendly and attentive. Chef and his crew does a spectacular job. Found this gem just after they opened and will be a customer for life!
This was our fourth time to eat at Four Winds...the steaks are absolutely perfect...the service is great and the view was fairly good. Our preference is to sit in the “great room” where the fireplace is located. The ambiance is so beautiful. However, we were seated in the extended area at the back of the room. That is area is fine for large groups...of which at least they had not arrived yet, otherwise our dinner experience would have been totally ruined.
Exceptional as always. I have never been disappointed in the food or friendly staff. I had the 5 oz filet special with Peppercorn sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. My boyfriend had a 26 oz Porterhouse with baked potato and asparagus. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Wish we could come back more often. Their crab cakes are excellent and so is the Steak Salad.
We were introduced to Four Winds by new friends after moving to Athens in 2012. We were very impressed by the high quality of the food, both taste and presentation. John was our waiter the very first time and we have requested him every time since. He is able to capture the professionalism of a fine waiter and the ability to have a good friend level conversation that does not take away from the dining experience. The atmosphere is a warm inviting country atmosphere. Excellent. Nothing in DFW tops Four Winds.
Based on our previous visit, which was fine in all respects,we brought another couple with us last weekend.occasion was 20th anniversary for my wife and I,and birthday for my brother.
This visit was not so nice.
the waitress advised us that she was working a large group in another room, and that she would
"keep an eye on us".also some of the other staff would"try to help out".
We were obviously delegated to second tier and I would have left at that point except for the
urging of my guests.
After being seated for 20 minutes the two bar drinks arrived, had to request again the iced tea which was 5 minutes later.25 minutes to get a glass of tea.the place was not that crowded.
it was 50 minutes till food arrived and we were again abandoned.
the dinner itself was superb, compliments to chef and cook staff.
the service was disappointing to say the least.Dinner for the four of us was close to $200 dollars,
to which I had no complaint and in spite of the lack of service my wife left a $40.00 tip
all in all a let down for what was to have been a grand dinner for us.
