First time to dine there and it was the first day of that class. It was very reasonably priced and everyone was charming. We plan to dine again.

My food - grilled salmon - was delicious! The service was all you could ask for. What a bargain!

Entrees were excellent. My husband had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I had the cauliflower steak which was creative and very good. Presentation for both entrees were good. We were disappointed in the salads. The Caesar had a balsamic dressing which, even though it wasn't bad, was not what I expected on a Caesar salad.

Appetizers were spectacular! We had a cheese plate and the capris salad, those who had duck loved it one had a fillet the other had chicken? Our food surpassed our expectations. I couldn't have gone to the French Hen or mahogany or Flemings or even Juniper for better quality food or presentation. Yes our server was a novice, but he was so sincere and helpful. This was definitely five star food and I would put it right up there with restaurants in Chicago or San Francisco, You definitely must check out the culinary school.

Drove all the way there with a reservation and they were closed.

Then I couldn't book a reservation at the next spot because it was locked into this place.

I called and left a message and never received an apology call back.

Will never try it again.

We had an outstanding meal. It is staffed by students, so the service can be hit or miss, but there was great food for a reasonable price.

Foundations was a great restaurant to try. I liked being able to try the different foods that The Culinary Arts students created. Plate presentation and ambiance was nice. However the food could use a little more seasoning (roasted root salad and my risotto needed more salt). My husband and I might go back and try a few other things on the menu.

Our first visit was on February 17th. The menu on the website was different when we got there. Apparently they had their "Valentine's Day" menu all week. It was the worst prime rib my husband ever had. It was completely undercooked and the entire center was all fat. The green beans and mashed potatoes were barely warm and the horseradish was all over the plate so everything tasted like horseradish. I had roasted chicken that was dry and rubbery. My vegetables and risotto were lukewarm as well. Our server was great and we tipped him well since it was not his fault the food was awful. I know this is a school, but why isn't the chef checking everything before it leaves the kitchen? Very disappointed. We will not be back.

We went to celebrate Valentines Day. We have celebrated many special occasions here and have loved the food, the ability to select the number of courses, the chef's amuse bouche, the palate cleanser, and the reasonable price. This time we were surprised at the change in pricing, and the way we ordered. By ordering ala carte our bill was much higher and we missed the special treatment such as the amuse bouche and palate cleanser, the experience was like going to any nice restaurant, but not special. The food was very good but our experience was not what we expected. Not sure we will be coming back for our special occasions.

Although we did attend this establishment on a Thursday evening, there were literally only 5 patrons in the building of which we were 3. The other table was a couple who were obviously the parents of their waiter and were treated as if they were royalty. Everything on the menu was explained to them thoroughly with great detail. The staff was friendly, attentive, and yet not overbearing to them. I am sure they had a great evening. We on the other hand received zero explanation of the menu. The waiter seemed to be rushing our stay, my wife literally just received her soup and the entrees came to the table. The waiter was lacking basic social skills which made all interactions uncomfortable as well as awkward. The food was good, nothing to rave about just good. So i guess my experience would be better if we had been the before mentioned couple who's child was trying to impress them. Or maybe my standards for service had this restaurant tiered with PHRYME or SMOKE both of which Foundations does not come remotely close.

Went on Valentine's Day for the first time ever visiting this establishment. Our waitress was brand new and was a pleasure to deal with. She was very sweet and tried to make sure everything was good throughout the evening. The food was presented very well and the students were obviously taught that presentation is important.

My wife had the roasted chicken as her entree and the pear salad. I had the pasta with grilled chicken. We also shared the bread that comes standard for our appetizer.

My wife had 3 bites of her chicken and could not stand any more as it had been cooked too long and was "dry and rubbery". She liked the pear salad on balance. My pasta dish with the optional grilled chicken was average to good, but not very good. The bread and butter were good, although the bread was seasoned with a salty seasoning. I had a glass of wine as well.

I appreciate that the chefs are students learning the trade. Hopefully, they will learn that attention to detail is important in not only the presentation (which they did quite well), but also in the finished product. I might be willing to try this place again, but it will not be for a long time (and definitely not with my wife ever again).

We made reservations and arrived early. We were prepared to wait until our reserved time, but were seated immediately. We experienced swift friendly service in a quiet atmosphere. The food was great and more than we could eat. Our meal consisted of a sampling of just about everything on the five course menu. My wife and I had a great experience and will do it again. Remember it is a school. We went in with the understanding that everything may not be perfect, but our experience could hardly have been better. The experience was well worth it and they boxed up our left overs for later!

I have enjoyed dining at Foundations in the evening but had not been there for lunch before. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch buffet (it was Mexican the Friday we went). It was not traditional Tex-Mex with lots of fried entrees but was a flavorful offering of chicken dishes, fish (delicious!) and pork verde, along with rice, beans, salad, guacamole, and salsa. Everything was delicious. There were also several desserts to enjoy. I will return to Foundations for the Friday buffet!

Platt College Culinary Program Training Kitchen and Restaurant - Foundations is a training location for the culinary program at the college next door. There's a head chef/trainer overseeing the students. There were four students the evening I went for dinner. The students did the cooking and also waited on the tables, sat people coming in, and were cashiers at the end of the meal. The service was average. But the food was some of the best I've ever had, not just in Tulsa, but anywhere. There is a prix fixe menu for dinner. Prices ranged from $25 for 3 course, $30 for 4 courses, or $35 for 5 courses. The courses are: appetizer, soup, salad, entree, and desert. There were 2 or 3 choices per course, and 4 for the entrees. So if you can keep in mind that these are trainees who are learning their trade, then you will probably have a good time with some great food.

Arrived with some trepidation as I had just read the horrid most recent review. Was taking friends so I didn't want it to be a disaster. It was not! Food was divine. Service was attentive. The place is very quiet so we could carry on a conversation. Do not arrive early, though. They will not seat you until your reservation time, on the dot. Already making plans for a return visit.

This place was terrible. It is a school, but they did not have enough help. The food was cold when it should have been hot. The fish was awful. It should not be on Open table at all.
I would recommend it to anyone

Sadly disappointed. Food was inedible. Appetizers were raw, supposed to be grilled skewers of beef and shrimp but instead completely cold and bloody beef and grey shrimp. Salad course was a ridiculously under ripe and under seasoned tomato with cheese melted inside it. We counted our losses and left before the entree was served.

Ok, first off, this is a culinary school. This is a student run restaurant from front to back with a Chef as over sight. We were a little nervous at first, but I have to say, what an amazing experience. This is truly a hidden gem in Tulsa. So good, we are going back tomorrow.
