Our full-service, student operated restaurant offers varied, international cuisine with a modern American influence. We would love to share with you a laid back, relaxing lunch in our open dining room. Here our students, working directly under the supervision of our professional chefs, will provide you with an excellent meal and superior service. You will actually have an opportunity to see the students at work in the restaurant kitchen as well as view our pastry students as they create exciting new desserts and pastries in their open lab. You as our Guest are also able to be part of the education process here at Platt College, as you will be grading the students on their performance and level of skills presented. What better way to spend your Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunches? Enjoy great cuisine and help shape tomorrow’s chefs.

Entrees were excellent. My husband had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I had the cauliflower steak which was creative and very good. Presentation for both entrees were good. We were disappointed in the salads. The Caesar had a balsamic dressing which, even though it wasn't bad, was not what I expected on a Caesar salad.

Appetizers were spectacular! We had a cheese plate and the capris salad, those who had duck loved it one had a fillet the other had chicken? Our food surpassed our expectations. I couldn't have gone to the French Hen or mahogany or Flemings or even Juniper for better quality food or presentation. Yes our server was a novice, but he was so sincere and helpful. This was definitely five star food and I would put it right up there with restaurants in Chicago or San Francisco, You definitely must check out the culinary school.

Drove all the way there with a reservation and they were closed.

Then I couldn't book a reservation at the next spot because it was locked into this place.

I called and left a message and never received an apology call back.

Will never try it again.

We had an outstanding meal. It is staffed by students, so the service can be hit or miss, but there was great food for a reasonable price.

Foundations was a great restaurant to try. I liked being able to try the different foods that The Culinary Arts students created. Plate presentation and ambiance was nice. However the food could use a little more seasoning (roasted root salad and my risotto needed more salt). My husband and I might go back and try a few other things on the menu.

Our first visit was on February 17th. The menu on the website was different when we got there. Apparently they had their "Valentine's Day" menu all week. It was the worst prime rib my husband ever had. It was completely undercooked and the entire center was all fat. The green beans and mashed potatoes were barely warm and the horseradish was all over the plate so everything tasted like horseradish. I had roasted chicken that was dry and rubbery. My vegetables and risotto were lukewarm as well. Our server was great and we tipped him well since it was not his fault the food was awful. I know this is a school, but why isn't the chef checking everything before it leaves the kitchen? Very disappointed. We will not be back.

We went to celebrate Valentines Day. We have celebrated many special occasions here and have loved the food, the ability to select the number of courses, the chef's amuse bouche, the palate cleanser, and the reasonable price. This time we were surprised at the change in pricing, and the way we ordered. By ordering ala carte our bill was much higher and we missed the special treatment such as the amuse bouche and palate cleanser, the experience was like going to any nice restaurant, but not special. The food was very good but our experience was not what we expected. Not sure we will be coming back for our special occasions.
