Foundation Room House of Blues New Orleans Ratings and Reviews
We found this place online & it sounded great. The live music was excellent. Note that if you want to tip the musicians, keep in mind that you will also be charged $4.00 music fee per person on your bill! We gave our order to the waiter explaining that We'd like a 20 minute break between our appetizer & the entree. He said "no problem". We ended up waiting an HOUR for our entrees. During this time a different waiter rudely kept taking the water jug from our table to serve the large table near us without acknowledging us at all. The waiter who took our order ignored us completely during the hour long wait. We ended up telling another waiter that we were still waiting for our food. Finally when our food arrived delivered by our original waiter - no apology. VERY poor service. The food was ok - nothing outstanding. The shrimp bisque was very tasty.
Food passable not great. had chicken- fried was hard, duck just kind of there. Appetizer was crab cake. Pretty good but had so much crawfish roumalade sauce couldn't taste the crab cake. Ambiance good.service very good. Think I'd try the steak filet next time, but is pricey
This a must go to place! They take you down a long hall then up an elevator, very interesting place, like out of a movie. We had the pan seared snapper, it was prepared perfectly. The wine bottle prices are very pricey, however, it was worth it for the occasion 😊
My husband and I would like to thank you all for making our 23rd Wedding Anniversary a wonderful dinning experience. The Italian night was amazing and our hats off to the chefs. Isaac was wonderful and attentive to our request and made the dinning even more special. This was our first time in New Orleans but after such a wonderful experience with The House of Blues, it won't be our last. Again thank you all.
Was on time but apparently the clerk did not give me credit for arrival. I got it taken care of later... She sat us near the musician however right behind a pole. My date had no view of musician. We tried sitting at the awkward table for a few songs but I eventually told the waiter to move us to a better viewing table. DONE! Much better... The food was good. The service was great. The music was good but short lived. The energy was OK but it was a slow Weds night.
From start to finish we truly enjoyed our experience. Food was amazing and the service was great. We truly felt it was a different, fun and enjoyable evening. It's not often I want to thank everyone for a memorable evening but this was one indeed. For entrees we had the Filet and the Duck, both were very well prepared and tasty. Accompaniments were well matched. Had a great wine list. A gem in the private side of the HOB.
It was me and my girlfriends 2 year ann. and it was the first and most memorable night dining out and date night. The server was so helpful and always there when we needed him and whatever we needed wasn't a issue. We will def be back hopefully for our 4 year.
We had a great time! Our server was super nice and very attentive. The food was good and they made accommodations for my vegetarian lifestyle. The band playing was excellent and the ambience was fantastic. The food is extremely pricey, but it was worth it for the special experience of going behind the gold door!
This is a very cool venue located in the House of Blues off Bourbon St. Walls are covered with Asian fabrics and there are multiple rooms in a bar area where there is live music.
The restaurant is in an adjoining room where the music can still be heard, but the sound level makes it more like background music.
Food was good, not remarkable, especially in a city with many fabulous restaurants, but the overall experience was unusual and fun. Worth a visit.
We had a great time enjoyed the music friendly people great delicious food the server was a bit slow in taking our orders but other than that all was excellent. We would very much go back their again someday. It was the first time but not the last time!! Thank you again.
The Foundation Room was fantastic. It had a very cozy, laid back vibe which is just what I was looking for! The food phenomenal and the cocktails were well prepared. Further, the customer service was exceptional! I would definitely recommend it and will definitely return the next time I'm in NOLA!
Such a great date night! We are locals but avoid the tourist scene...such a loss in our part that we haven't enjoyed the Fountain Room. We had the privilege of getting the Italian Night and Spencer Raca on the same night. Don't miss out!
Where should I start? If you're ever in New Orleans, you must visit the Foundation Room at the House of Blues. I can truly say my fiancé and I enjoyed our experience from the moment we arrived. The decor is amazing and the staff was warm and courteous, which is always a good start in my book. We were greeted in the lounge with a glass of champagne by the hostess before dinner, as the DJ played a variety of music that made everyone want to groove.
After the good vibes, it was time for dinner which I was looking forward to since we landed in NOLA. Our waitress Brandy was the sweetest thing! We've been to quit a few restaurants up and down the east coast, but the service we received from Brandy was hands down the best! Her knowledge of the menu and the way she described the items on it made your mouth water. Her unique southern charm made our dining experience extra special.
For me it's all about the experiences, good food and good people, good times at the Foundation Room.
Brandi, our server, was great, fun. Our food was wholly acceptable and well prepared, but overpriced for lack of creativity. The decor was beautiful, I'm sure, but we were tucked in a booth behind a curtain and didn't really get to enjoy the painted ceiling. Overall, we were excited to check the place out and had a good meal.
